Hello all, my girlfriends 3D started having touch screen problems. She's running Mean Rom but no matter what Rom I use the status bar will not drag down. It zooms out and shows the different home screens, like your making a pinch to zoom out. But I only use one finger and swype down. Tried changing kernels, roms (both sense and aosp), super wiped and installers newer versions, update radios prl and profiles and everything else I can think of. I still cannot drag down the statis bar on any rom. Help?
Thanks.

Yes. Went to a stock rom, older version of mean rom that worked, MIUI, and cm7. All with a different combinations of kernels.

Recently my digitizer was acting up the same bit I was also getting ghost responses with no touch at all, I ended up replacing it. If you can find a cool sprint tech there is no charge for a refurbished as long as there is no apperant physical damage to the phone that could lead to broken digitizer ex bent frame or cracked screen. Also have ypy tried updating the firmware through recovery? There should be a link under the stickies in the dev thread. Hope it helps

She's been having ghost taps all day too. Updated firmware and radios, didn't help. RUU'd it back to brand new no root and it didn't help. Rooted it back, back to mean rom with the same problems. Guess I'll go to a sprint store. Good thing they'll fix it for free
Thanks for the suggestions!

Yeah bud call in advance you can actually talk to the tech and kinda get a feel if he or she will care about the root. But to unroot and return to stock doesn't require touch input through the right recovery. There are ALOT of lemon digitizers on the forums and its also good for you that even if the replacement is hboot. 1.5 you can do the downgrade hboot to 1.4 to get the revolutionary 1.4 soff and over read that the 1.5 can also be root and soff. So no worries there either good luck man hope it works out for you

theres no guarantees but you are correct they probably wont notice that it doesn't work. What they will be looking for is if the phone works, water damage indicator and physical damage. They will probably once over the phone then return it as long as you are within your proper return period.

That's what I'm thinking. It works it just won't have as much bloatware on it. There just gonna resell it anyway. I tried to restore the nandroid of the original rom but once restored it gets stuck at the first samasung splash screen.

If you flash back via ODIN make sure the three button recovery works because if ODIN crashes mid-way (I've had this happen twice on my previous Vibrant) you've got a brick if you can't get it back into download mode via the buttons. Do a forum search. Or maybe if you wound up with the dreaded black screen of death that wouldn't be such a bad thing. They'd almost have to take it back then.
i just returned one the other day to best buy and the chick went through the phone for a couple of minutes, checked settings and menus and then also checked for physical damage. i had reflashed it back to stock anyways as bell's version comes with a bunch of specific apps. i was glad i did flash it back and i also relocked it to bell's network as i had unlocked it for use on rogers

It really isn't.. its better to be safe than sorry. At least thats how I feel.
And as far as that phone -- pc logo, I guess they would take it back but if they ask you how did it get that way? you're going to have to lie about it and its just going to feel really awkward.
Truthfully though, all they'd have to be trained to do is not accept returns if you see the superuser app. That'd be the easiest way to see if someone has rooted their phone & If you're not even going to take the effort to flash it back to stock, you're probably not going to delete that app either.
Just re-Odin it & call it a day. It took me less than 5 minutes to get back to stock & maybe another 5 to download the necessary files.
This will also ensure that you don't have any leftover contacts or log ins to facebook or anything like that on there (better safe than sorry).
Thanks guys. I was using my slide for the last couple of days by picked the vibrant back up and fell back in love. If I do decide to return it I'll put it back on stock. Thanks again guys.

Yup, that'll work as well. Or you could download a nandroid that is stock without root.
i got my vibrant the day it came out, from costco... $99
Swapped it a week later, Couldn't unroot it for some reason, but they didn't notice... then again it was costco
They won't care trust me i worked for tmo. These people don't even know what root is they might think its a plant. They just scan it out of their inventory and send it to samsung. If it has root on it they are not going to send it back to tmo just to find u or look to charge your account. That is soooooo tedious cuz u have to do an IMEI search which hardly works on TMOs internal network (i tried when i worked with them never really worked) so yea all they look for is hardware damage and the liquid damage indicator other then that ur golden.
So, recently, my touch screen has been pretty wonky. Sometimes it doesnt work at all and even pulling the battery and booting it back up doesn't fix it. Sometimes when it locks The screen isn't responsive afterwards to unlock but then locking and waking the screen again fixes it. Just wondering if there is a fix for this or if anyone else has had these same problems. I've trued full CWM wipes and Fastboot wipes and also tried different ROMs. Any help would be cool but if not I may just have to ditch the MAtrix for a different phone until my upgrade.

So, I've been using the Wet Dream blur ROM for the past week and it's acting about the same way. I haven't had to go to the extreme of wiping it yet while on Wet but unresponsiveness is still a problem here and there.
EDIT: I haven't had touch capability since the 10th. I've tried flashing a couple other ROMs to no avail and don't really know what to do at this point.
Is a warranty claim even possible or would it just be a futile effort?
EDIT II: Sent it in on a warranty claim. We will see what happens I suppose. If not, I'm going GSII
EDIT The Third: Well, after fruitcake back to stock I sent it in and they fixed it all up and sent it back to me. So, that's that for what it's worth. Like the sig says my MAtrix got stolen so I'm on to the GSII forums but I'm definitely going to keep up with what's going on with Atrix.
Man....i flashed like 5 different ROMs last night. All worked. Today....tried to put the MeanROM ICS on it......wont boot up...stays at the HTC screen. Tried 5 times. Did everything right cause i flashed the others right.
So i said f*** it. Tried to put it back to the ROM i had...Nocturnal Blackend....won't boot anymore. I wiped everything,,,,,factory reset just like i did last night when i installed 5 different ROMs. Right now.....its on MeanRON...i can see the time....and the battery at the top...everything else below is black. What would this mean?
I have HBOOT 1.50 in case it helps. But whats weird is...it was doing fine til i tried the ICS ROM.
By the way..i have S-On.
When i try to to restore with Nandroid....it just stays at the HTC start up window. Im not sure what to do from here. There has to be some small error that you guys may know.

From everything I've read on the forum, ICS and S-on do not play well with many people. Some people have no problem, but most people get bootloops or the phone boots to the HTC screen and that is it. I recommend you get S-off.

Only weird thing is....i had Blackend ROM on it...then went to the ICS ROM..it worked. I was in and all. But the wifi was showing error. So i did what i did last night...extracted the kernel from the MeanROM with Flash Image GUI....after that....HELL. So..it DID work...i guess it had the wrong kernel. BUT the main thing now is....i cant restore nothing....i have 2 backups....they hang at the HTC screen. They didnt hang yesterday when i was installing all kinds of ROMs. So now...i cant get ANYTHING on it. I still feel its a small step thats doing this. Right now...im in MeanROM i guess...i can see the clock...an the bars...im charging it. But nothing below that. So its more like "What can i do to make it come on below the top bar". I installed the Chad kernel...still nothing.
[Edit] Also..the bottom lights comes on..the 4 buttons...and the top bar showing the time a nd signal...everything between..the whole screen is black.

Hey all,
Just got a Rezound as a replacement for my Droid Charge. This is my first HTC phone since the Touch Pro 2. I was a regular visitor to the DC forums and tried every custom rom and hack you could find there. Coming to the Rezound and reading about the root methods and custom roms seems a bit daunting compared to the method for Samsung phones. I would really like to just start with Stock Rooted and was hoping that this all in one tool will help me achieve that: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1504824 Can someone confirm this for me. Also, do I need to have the supersu apk on my sdcard or will that tool provide it as well?
Also, will using CWM be okay (purely out of familiarity) once I start tinkering with custom roms and the such? Seems like there is another recovery more popular here.
Any video on someone flashing a custom rom on this phone from start to finish? That would help a lot.
So far I am loving this phone. HD screen is awesome, camera quality took a shot compared to my DC but I don't really care. Much needed boost in processor power finally allows me to play games I previously purchased but didn't have a strong enough phone to play.
I am looking forward to getting to learn more about this phone and participate in future discussions. Soon as I get a custom rom (maybe this weekend) up I will be in full force! Thanks for all of your help in advance.
When it comes to recoveries just use amon ra. Seems like to me there is a lot less problems with it. The all in one toolkit is awesome. It is were I started. Just read the tutorial that is with the all in one. That's all I did. I came from a droid.charge so I know the.difference between the two. I would recommend s off though. Not as scary as it sounds. And it frees your device. So much more u can do such as putting global capabilities to use.
Also a link for all in one soff tool kit. Makes flashing so much easier.

I may request your help as you will understand my point of reference. Yeah I am working up the nerve to S-Off soon. When I saw that wire I got a bit worried. I exclaimed "REALLY?!" when I saw the procedure. My wife thought something wrong happened. Cool, well I will read up on that and figure out which Kernel Rom combo I want. Is it similar to the DC where a rom will come with the kernel in a recovery flash package? I should figure it all soon enough. Just need to get the elections out of my hair.

Yes, if you are S-off, the kernel will usually flash along with the Rom. Just read the Dev's OP before flashing any Rom as they will indicate if you need to fastboot flash the boot.img or if they have a PH98IMG.zip to flash separately. Honestly though, I am considering resetting my security flag back to S-On and manually flashing kernels any way to prevent the risk of bricking the phone. Haven't decided yet.
As for the s-off method, don't even sweat it. just make sure you watch the video and do exactly what it does by touching the correct points with the wire and you'll get it. Not really that hard, might just have to try a few times.
So, welcome!! :highfive:

Good to see you here Shrike, I recognize your avatar and know that you have provided me with many helpful comments. Seeing you hear makes me feel better.
Had some more time with the camera and I formally retract my previous statement(s) about the camera. It handles indoor lighting and low lighting wayyyyy better than my charge. The charge gave nice pictures only in a well lit (sunlight) scene. What I like best is that it compensates pretty well for the flash. Things would look flushed out on shutter and appear clear in the image, vs the charge where the flash on close subjects just made white blobs.
Thanks for the warm reception everyone.

Check out my TWRP thread in the dev. If you don't want to S-OFF. It shows a great way to flash ROMs/Kernels inside of recovery while being S-ON. It's called HTC Dumlock. The official CWM sucks! Don't use it. If you use CWM use the version found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1914215
I traded my other phone for an HTC One today and I'm loving it! But I'm having an issue with the camera... No matter what settings I choose or how much I tap to focus, it's always blurry! The phone was rooted with twrp recovery and android revolution rom pre-installed, but I don't know if its bootloader unlocked or s-off... All I know is I went into twrp and wiped caches and data/factory reset and logged into all my accounts... The camera sometimes manages to focus and works, but the rest of the time it just stays blurry... Any thoughts?
EDIT: I attached a picture I just took of my headphones so you can see what I mean...

as above post states, you probably need to revert to stock to get rid of any lingering settings from a rom that could be causing it.

Funny, for a supposed "Better-in-low-light" phone camera, mine is also bad at low light conditions. Slow focusing, also.
That happened to me once, no matter what I tapped on to focus, the camera refused to do so. But I just closed the app and opened it again and it fixed itself. Maybe try that.
