[Q] Backup Original Rom

Hi all,
I'm looking to make a full backup of my phone, including rom kernel radio etc. I want to install new roms on it, mainly Cyanogenmod, but I want to be able to revert back to the way it is right now. I'm aware that there are stock rom available for download but I'd rather backup mine so I know it's exactly the correct one (maybe different branding, version, etc).
I found a post by HellcatAndroid stating that this would backup everything:
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p1 of=/sdcard/p1-EFS.img bs=4096
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p4 of=/sdcard/p4-PARAM.img bs=4096
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p5 of=/sdcard/p5-KERNEL bs=4096
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p8 of=/sdcard/p8-MODEM.bin bs=4096
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p9 of=/sdcard/p9-FACTORYFS.rfs bs=4096
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p12 of=/sdcard/p12-HIDDEN.img bs=4096
I'm curious about a few things... given that these partitions are already mounted, some as read-write, it seems dangerous to obtain a corrupted image. Obviously, I've already manually rooted my phone. That part I can easily undo manually later on too.
Also, once you have this, is odin the only solution to flash back the image?
Is there a decent guide on how to backup your entire phone before flashing anything on it?
By the way, CWM isn't an option given that flashing it would overwrite something I'd like to backup.
install cwm ...
boot into cwm recovery
Backup/restore
full Nandroid backup....
U can later restore from cwm.
Everything is backed up. ( kernel .. radio.. settings .. )
As if nothing happened.
But if I understand correctly, installing CWM overwrites something. I won't be able to recover that part...
Which on is the recovery partition?
u can flash an official based rooted kernel with cwm...its the same as official just with cwm cf-root.
this one is based on LPQ latest kernel.... http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/GalaxyS2/kernels/ICS/CFRoot/CF-Root-SGS2_XX_XEO_LPQ-v5.3-CWM5.zip
if u have 4.0+
what u are asking cannot be done without root.
Like I said in the original post, I have manually rooted my phone. I have full root access from adb shell and I've compiled the SU binary by chainsdd. If I flash the cf-root kernel, I overwrite the original kernel which I don't want to do.
I can install CWM by itself, I just want to backup my recovery partition first. Unless the recovery partition is rebuilt automatically when flashing the stock kernel back?
after restore using CWM.....
Flash official firmware ( LPQ 4.0.3 ) .....
Everything will stay the same. except ull have a fresh official kernel. and keep ur data, setting etc.....
im not sure u can get into cwm without an unsecure kernel flashed via odin....

[Q][SM-G531H] Unlocking FRP while bricked (Only download mode accessible!)

Hey guys
I was rooting Galaxy Grand Prime SM-G531H with CF-AutoRoot while forgetting to enable USB Debugging, and to unlock FRP (ik thats stupid)
im just assuming that FRP= Factory Reset Protection.. maybe? anyway doesnt matter much ...
while rooting, FRP blocked the custom recovery > bricked
FRP blocks everything from odin
To fix with Kies, it wants to erase all data while *I cant lose them*
so i would appreciate if someone can upload the original boot.img and recovery.img of SM-G531H
I can't find them anywhere on the internet unlike other devices like S series
Info: tried installing a pre rooted official firmware but FRP blocked it, and can't downlaod the original non-rooted firmware becasue of very bad download sites (disconnect all the time, slow, not resumable downloads)
.
U can extract it from your stock rom that u used to flash with odin.
Here you go!
Here are my latest stock firmware files, you can download boot and recovery. Hope I helped you if you haven't solved the problem already! :good:

1. First u need to install 7zip on u'r PC
2. select boot.img and recovery.img then right click on them and choose add to archive
3. choose tar in the format instead of zip and click ok
4. now u have a .tar file that contains boot and recovery so place that file in the AP inside odin
5. flash the phone and that's it, u r good to go

If you had read the last couple of pages on the link you posted you would have know that is a known problem.
Read them. I think someone figured a workaround.

Classic problem if you update over OTA, go in the twrp and open the terminal :
first that : ' dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota '
second : ' dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc '
now just reboot system

Your board certainly isn't dead. But if you don't need it, send your board then to @Quarx to have one, because his board burned with white smoke .

Do you have a backup of the file, or of the whole ROM? Also, if it says unauthorized it is because of the adb key. Do you have TWRP or other custom recovery with a file manager?

Yes i have backup of the file .xml and i didn't have custom recovery because idk how to flash it safely.

I don't have your device, but if there is a working custom recovery, you should be able to flash it safely with flashify app from the playstore. Once you get TWRP or other custom recovery installed adb will work be default. (While in recovery)
Then you can move your backup xml to it's original location and chmod 0644.

Just realized your device won't boot so flashify won't help. My apologies. We could flash it with dd commands, but if adb is unauthorized, you won't be able to get shell.
Do you have access to a Linux OS like Ubuntu?
