[ROM][VIEW][HC] ReSensed-View - Coming Soon - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

This is just a place holder for Sensed Version of HC I'm working on.... Stay tuned. it might be a little bit because I need to get all the glitches out of my GB rom and have that running smoothly before I jump back onto HC. But work has begun already
For all you Sense fans I bring you ReSensed
The first release will for the most part look stock (no theming) and then the 2nd release will be more themed..

reserved for me

another for me......

If you can figure out why Netflix lags so badly in HC I would be interested in giving HC another shot. Whenever I try Netflix in HC the sound stream always gets ahead of the video stream. This never happens in GB.

I used your desensed rom and added back some sense apps and other little changes. I called it Sensible

I used Tasker (though there are other automated CPU utilities) to automatically switch the governor to "performance" when Netflix is running. That fixed the issue right there. Basically, Netflix doesn't play nice with the governors in Honeycomb.
On the cheap, you can just install the "No Frills CPU" utility and manually switch the governor before running Netflix.

So....are you already done with the DeSensed version of HC? I thought it still had some bugs to work out? That's why I originally went with the CypherROM.
Pleeease tell me you'll be sticking around! I think you are one of the last hold-outs for making some decent ROMs for our precious Views!
- Jim

i know, isn't it sad that there's only like less than 5 developers for the View, but 23984938243 for the flyer? ugh. either way, excited for this one

WOW..I thought all the devs ran away..I guess there's still hope for something new to finally come out...

So what's cooking?

You are very welcome! I enjoy doing it. I've been MIA for a couple of weeks because of school and my computer crashing but I do have something to test I am currently using my GB rom and just have to address a couple of issues with it, then I will be back on HC. I just wish the process of going from GB, to HC and back was easier. I mean it's not difficult but when you are doing roms for both it's a pain in the ass to have to keep switching. I will most likely release this either sometime this weekend or next week after my finals.
My ultimate goal was to use the Aroma installer and have one single rom that users could pick and choose which sense elements they wanted to include and what desensed elements they wanted to include but Aroma doesnt work well with our recovery. I guess there is no touch driver included in our recovery so it makes it so it's not really usable. Which sucks, because it would have been easier to maintain one rom than two or actually 3 now I know JMZ was working on a recovery with the touch driver but not sure how that came along.

Man, I'm looking forward to this! Will it have the stock reader app installed as well?
I'm leaving for vacation friday and hoping this will be available by then
I'd be happy to donate if that's a possibility.

I too would like to see this continue, but I'm afraid nearly all development for the View appears to have been dropped. I like seeing the focus on ICS, but it will take months or more to get to a daily driver (my experience, coming from the EVO, one of the most popular phones out there). I hope I'm wrong.

i was thinking about this the other day, isn't it taking alot longer than usual, compared to let's say a HD2? That initial hype of porting Android on to the touchpad seems to have died down.
not saying this in an impatient way or demoralizing developers and their hard work, cuz they are doing one heck of a job to get peoplewhat they want most of all on their fondle slab
....is it because not many developers are interested in the touchpad?...couldn't get hold if one?
That said HP's new move of selling touchpads only to developers might work in favour of getting some momentum to port Android on it

Once we get the ics source all this will be null... Hopefully

I'd be really interested in seeing a Sense ROM ported from the Puccini/Jetstream. A lot of the hardware is apparently quite similar, and it'd probably make for a better tablet-ified experience while we wait for ICS.
Although, with ICS so close, it's probably not worth it.

ICS source comes out in a couple weeks.
It would be pointless to spend weeks working on a port of something, if the new version comes out shortly.
Devs are just waiting for ICS source to drop.
Plus the HD2 was a totally different scenario.
It was made by one of the largest android phone makers, and the hardware in the phone was similar to its android counterparts.
Why don't you make us one minds?

the Touchpad is not an android tablet!!!
It is a WebOS tablet.
It takes a lot of work to get a different OS working properly.
name me other tablets that have stable android and did not come stock with android.
don't forget the people working on this are not getting paid.
This is not their day job.

B&N uses a modified version of FroYo for the Nook Color. Source is available for the kernel.
I think another factor is the Touchpad is not easily accessible for some people. Maybe it was easy to get yours, but I had a little bit of trouble. Missed the sales and ended up paying more for mine.

I'm happy with what has been posted so far from CM. I haven't had a lot of issues with what has been released. I guess I have too much going on to be concerned with changes to the touchpad. I can patiently wait for ICS to be released. I'd have to imagine it will be easier to work with since it ICS is designed with tablets in mind.

ICS is designed as a hybrid with phones and tablets in mind. If you really just want tablet, then use the Honeycomb source which has also just been released.

Rezound Zone? Na.. Maybe!

Well I just ordered the Rezound after moving from Sprint. Just wanted to say Hi some forums appreciated that. Not sure if I will do a ROM for this device but who am I kidding? Anyway just wanted to stop in an say Hi. Got the device coming FEDEX from Verizon for $99 bucks. I was waiting for the One but since HTC is taking it over to AT&Ts ****ty network I'm going to go to this. Pretty excited about it the phone really has everything I want. Anything I need to know? From what I have read you guys are using HTC Unlock and flashing kernels with fastboot? Is that about right? Thanks.

Hey Zone. Great to see you on the Rezound forum Unlocking and rooting is fairly easy but I was a bit gun shy at first. Tried to read up a bunch first if that make sense. lol. I really don't mess around too much with custom kernels because I feel the stability and speed is already good enough with custom roms. But I'm sure custom kernels bring this device to another level. Anyway, just wanted to say hi.
Also Cleanflash is a great way to flash boot.img. Scott did a great job with it.

lol. That's the truth. Wimax speeds were about the same for me here but the difference is LTE has more coverage in my town overall. Less dead spots for sure. Only thing that has surprised me since switching is there have been at least 4 LTE outages this year. It seems like when they go down, I can't even get 3g it goes right to 1x which is dreadful. But I'm sure they are going to iron this out.
Haha.. funny to see you switch over too. It's funny how that works. Amazing how long that EVO battery lasts when it's NOT attached to the NOT-now Network.
The speeds/switch capacity issues/discount change finally did it in for me too.
Glad to see friends on the other side!

ICS currently has a touch screen bug (big, for me) where sometimes you swipe in one direction and it 'jumps' the other way. May be the kernel.
GB is stable and working great. All of the GB ROMs are stable as a rock.
I use Ineffabilis. Lots of great features, and 100% stock base. Nothing stability-wise touched.
Every single non-stock kernel has stability issues with most peoples' rezounds (even without overclocking). The dual 1.5ghz doesn't seem to need an overclocking (this is the first phone I've ever felt that way about), so it doesn't bother me.
Stock kernel is great, and everything works. Some great Devs here, and it's getting busier by the week as our phone gets more attention.
Welcome, sir!

A place to discuss UCLD3 and UCLE2

I keep seeing comments in three or four different development threads. I decided to place my comments about the leak here.
For me, scrolling is smoother, toast notes are not blurry, force close? What's that? Broken stuff just isn't broken anymore. At least not the functions I use.
lockscreen wallpaper isn't setting for me... EDIT fixed by reading...(set from within quickpic)
All in all, the initial leak is stable enough to DD.
The various repacks are smoothing out after a little tweaking, and with some patience and perseverance, our devs are ironing out most of the wrinkles created when tracking and altering the leak. I'm very impressed with the progress!
My thoughts are this might be more than a pre release, and more like a final pre test using us willing Guinea pigs...(conspiracy theory)
So, I'm gonna continue to DD the version I'm on (collectives) because this is what I was waiting for (att ics), and although out may not be official, its dang close to it. To think about atoll those google searches, countless hours refreshing, waiting for the release of ice cream sandwich... All I have to say is, ITS HERE!
This thread is a good place to compile your thoughts and or feelings on the final leak, and I'm interested to get all of your thought in one place, and inadvertently declutter some of the development threads.

This is the first leak I installed, I was running stock GB and I'm not rooted.
I do have a couple of issues:
- My signal strength seems to be bouncing alot, 5 to 1 bars or 2 to 4, its never solid like it was before. My wifi is Gold, no problems.
- When I go into settings the words look blurry to me
I installed this leak twice with the same results, rebooted about 15 times and still the same results.
I will include a couple screen shots.
Looks awesome, have you tried a different modem? Flappjaxxx posted flammable radios in the collective ucld3 thread...
EDIT: not flammable, flashable... lol
BTW: can someone explain how they got transparent weather to work... I must have done something wrong when i tried a while back...
Sent from my Note using ICS by AT&T
ive installed the latest ICS from team perfection.
it runs better then the last leak, plus Appdroid's extras/addon/debloating helps it out a lot.. good enough for a daily driver, albeit.. a buggy daily driver.
I get crashes on Words with Friends, MyFitnessPal, Temple Run is laggier then on Gingerbread (which i hope is smoothed out by the official ICS release), obvious lag on Phone and Contacts launch, camera (launching, taking photo), and some other issues
Google Navigation is faster and more accurate then in Gingerbread, same thing with maps.
IMO -- nothing has beaten the smoothness of the Unofficial Gingerbread Rom. That thing was smooth like butter, makes me want to go back to it sometimes.
Only complaint is the status bar brightness control, by sliding your finger, doesn't work.
Which is kinda funny since that's been a built in touch wiz feature since...forever ;/

I have few questions/clarifications..
Can we do this on stock GB (no root/never flashed)? I have never flashed.. it is as is when I bought..
Instructions:
1. Download to sdcard
2. Reboot to recovery - hold volume + Power + Home
3. Data wipe/factory reset ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED coming from a different ROM!
(Definitely recommended even if coming from an earlier version of The Unofficial)
4. Flash Rom (How?)
5. Reboot and Enjoy
6. *Bug reports not necessary in this thread* This ROM ships As-Is
7. No this will not do anything to your bootloader.
No you need to flash cwm recovery with Odin first THEN follow those instructions...
If you want to backup your apps with titanium backup you will need to root first, if you don't then rooting first is not needed.

Not trying to be ungrateful but..

The thunderbolt development has been on hold for months now... I run Liquid 3.2 with the imo kernel and it really is amazing. Like anyone else though I want more. Is it just me or is Team BAMF being selfish? How could they release a ROM without the RUU? I am grateful towards them but the truth is after being a sense fanboy for ever and finally giving AOSP a chance I will never look back. I tried the leak and it just brought back old angry memories. The lag to me is unbearable for a 1ghz 768 mb phone with ICS. I am sure the desensed version is better but here is my real question. Can AOSP developers start working on AOSP roms without the RUU? And do you guys think we will have any good AOSP roms untill the kernel source is released?
The only reason why I think I can be totally wrong right now is...if BAMF was being selfish why wouldn't they release the new radio? Unless they didn't update the radio I can't see a reason as to why they would hold back.
I just really can't wait for an official legit Liquid ICS AOSP rom with a new imo kernel build from source no de-compiling.
Is there anything about what I am saying that is wrong or doesn't make sense?

Not necessarily a noob but far from an expert... I posted this is q&a because I am looking for answers not to be judged..
They held back because it was a test build from April. I bet there isn't a new radio or hboot with the test as it was a test. I also would put money down that the reason the build is so laggy is because it is a test. If you're worried about the lag and want a functioning ics rom then I don't understand why you haven't flashed liquid ics. Everything works and I have used it as a dd since they got data working with it.

Yeah I did see that liquid rom... would you say that rom is anything as smooth as liquid 3.2 GB? Also I did not know that the leak was a a test build from April...that is crazy.
thanks for the info!
Where the heck did the Liquid ICS rom with working data go?
The build date in there is listed as April. I haven't tried liquid 3.2 as it was based on an old version of cm7 so I can't compare to that but it is smoother than any rom I've used on the tbolt to date.

Not to sound like a moron but where is the Liquid build with working data... the only one I see is the 1x only one?

That's the one.
It says 1x but you'll get at least 3g and even 4g speeds.

It shows 1x but it is actually getting 4g. I did some speed tests of 12.5 mobs.

I tried the leak and it just brought back old angry memories. i havent checked in the RUU if there is new radio(s) in it, but often times RUU's are not released at the request of the leaker
they're more identifiable than a rom made off of them, and the debug/tracking apks are removed from roms made from them
for the inc2 i was asked to remove the debug apps from the rom before releasing, and that would not be possible in the RUU
no one is entitled to anything either way....someone gave files to a certain individual/group in the hopes they would do whats best for the masses with it...if the leaker felt that everyone would benefit from releasing the RUU, it would have happened
there is nothing file wise that is a RUU and not a rom made from it that would benefit aosp anyway....all the bins/libs and associated files are the same
theres no *magic* in there....kernel source code is the most important thing in that area

Worse come to worse, do a Nandroid and flash a few ICS builds to try them out. If you don't like it restore back. I see some posts of people using Liquids ICS as a DD. Might be worth trying. I personally am waiting this weekend to see if anything else gets released just to get some kinks out due to the fact I use my phone for work and need the functionality of my phone. Liquids ICS is not based off of that leak from Teambamf and hopefully now that the leak has come out they may find it useful to perfect their Rom a bit more.
Again thanks to all the Devs for all the hard work they do!
Currently using Thundershed 1.6. Zoom Kern.
I use liquid ics as my dd and I have no issues yet.

I am loving this rom. Even with its little quirks. I just can't wait for the new build. I have been scrolling these forums every 5 minutes. lol

Amen and amen. It is truly a fantastic ROM; can't wait for what's coming next!

100% working Cm9!

It's almost that time! It seems that a 100% bug free version of Cm9 is eminent! I personally cannot wait. Can anyone that knows the status for sure give us that are waiting some updates as they come??? I know there are a few builds but I'm talking about straight cm9!

#1 rule of XDA: Don't ask for ETAs.
I would say CM9 is 98% complete. Lots of people are reporting Bluetooth not fully working. Give our awesome devs a hug and let them know you love them.
Just hang around until they get JB going.
Is hw excel working?I don't know..I ran sum of the standard benchmark test and saw huge decrease in speed,,plus it gave Me horrible signal.,and cramps
I haven't run a benchmark on this version, but I was getting in the 6k range on Antutu last version, which is the same as Sense.
And, yes, I'm going to hug Chad with more money.

Just got 6534 in Antutu, including over 59 fps in both 3D tests. It's testing faster than Sense for me.

I think you mean "imminent."
It looks like were close. Chad said he has fixed everything 100%, and everything just looks to be ROM specific.
I'm sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for a 100% JB ROM, simply because I think it will be along very soon and I hate wiping / reflashing repeatedly. What's another month after all we've been waiting?
I might cave and go for one of the CM9 ROMs or AOKP if Meadows can get it 100%, mainly because it will be official and not a fork from the ROM source.
Chad is amazing, and if I didn't have a car payment, I would have sent a hefty donation his way. Once I get some financial things settled down, I may send him a couple hundred for all his hard and amazing work.

Auto predictions. Never typed that word before and that's what came up when I was half way through the word so I quickly hit it. No biggie

I don't think 100% JB is as close as we would hope but I am definitely ready to flash a 100% bug free cm9 any day... Just a few more bugs! :/ thank god for devs on here.
I'm just happy we've gone as far as we have in development. A 4G NON Nexus Verizon device with AOSP is good enough for me lol. Not many out there.

unless we find a maintainer for CM9 or CM10 it will never be a full support by the CM team all we will have is other members builds on this site.
I'm completely ok with the CM team not supporting it.

JB is not as far off as ICS was to GB. The updates are minimal for JB where ICS was a complete rework. Let's pretend you have a house named GingerBread. For ICS, we had to demolish that house and redo the foundation. Now, the house is just about move in ready. Once we've moved in, we can decide to do some remodeling which will take a little longer (JB). The framework is already in place, the devs just need to make a few changes here and there.

Also, remember the S3 has CM9 and I wouldn't be surprised if the Note 2 gets it pretty quickly as well (since others are saying the Rez is the only non-Nexus with CM9).
It's a great accomplishment, I really hope we can get officially added to the ROM so we can update via ROM Manager.

As stated above, we really want a maintainer so we can get all the benefits of ROM Manager. If it doesn't get official, I'll stick with AOKP so we can get official support.
No issues here with Chad's CM9 (compiled myself). Its now my dd.

Do you want one?
I can upload mine. Built at 3 am this morning and working beautifully.
I'll start the upload in about 30 min.
It really is a daily driver.
"Bug free" - no such thing in software development.
One of my pet peeves as a software support technician.
