Lexi-Comp - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Anyone know how to get this application for the Note? I'm not looking for a cracked version-I have a legit code and whatnot but the app isn't listed in the market.

I found it on the market
https://play.google.com/store/search?q=lexicomp

Yea, I found that too, but it won't show up when I go from the phone. When I try to send from browser it lists 717 as incompatible. I am running ICS, did you get it to show up with GB?

Hmm, I can see it on my phone to.

I'm running GB on Saurom.... Clicked the link and through the play app and browser, I can see it just fine with the option to download.

If you have Chrome, there is an extension that allows you to download directly to your PC. Then you can push it to your phone. IDK if it works with paid apps though.

I've been looking around the chrome market for this extension, and I'm not too sure...I have the "chrome to mobile" plug in, but when I go to the play market I still don't have the option to download the lexi-comp app.
Would it work if I switched to GB, make a Titanium Back up of the app, then went back to ICS?

That would work if you restore app only. Don't restore app data or you're asking for problems.

[Q] Titanium Backup attaching apps to market

Hi. I seem to have had no problem attaching all my apps to the market with Titanium Backup's Market Doctor, however sometimes I've noticed when I install an apk and try to attach that app to the market, it just won't work. It says it's successful, but if I run the Market Doctor again the same app is there. I rebooted once and it seemed to fix the problem and I was able to attach a couple apps, but now it's back to not attaching. Also, if I detach an app it won't even allow me to attach it back afterwards. It just seems like there's an issue with attaching, but only sometimes. Any help would be much appreciated.

I've noticed sometimes it says it attached, but I check and it's not there. Reboot and it shows up.
Is the app in question showing installed when you search for it in the market?
Yes it does say installed when I find it in the market. And I know to make it show up in the "My Apps" section you just need to download another app. It's when I run Market Doctor once, it says it was successful but I run it again and the app never actually was attached.
Try shooting an email off to the dev maybe? He's usually pretty responsive..
Attaching installed apps to the market does absolutely nothing for me tbp....
The apps don't even show up as installed..

the latest version is supposed to help with this. you may want to look for the update. Hope this helps.
I seem to have the newest version which is 3.9.0. So I don't think that's it.

CM7 Apps that Won't Install List

This is a running list of apps won't install from the Android Market on the CM7 Alpha build for whatever reason. They should work on phones or tablets, but Android Market says the TouchPad/CM7 Alpha isn't compatible:

There's a fix released on the cmtouchpad google code page, but basically it's because the app has a flag that detects dpi and/or devices. so if it doesn't match up, it doesn't show up.
You can install Facebook and other apps with the APK file. For example, I ran titanium backup and copied the folder to my computer. I then decompressed the gz file containing the apk, copied it to my touchpad and used appinstaller to install it.
Adfree installs but cant edit the hosts file cause it cant mount rw the system partition, same for the Es file manager. Seems like the mount command isnt working

Order & Chaos works. I installed it from the Market and when it opened, it said my device wasn't compatible. So, I changed my build.prop to read Driod X and Motorola wherever HP or Touchpad was (backed it up first). Then I rebooted.
Once I opened it after reboot, it downloaded all 600MB of data and I logged in. It runs pretty good, but there is a little stutter here-and-there.

Install Fake GPS from Market and set a location. Then use Facebook and it should work. It did for me. Found this fix on another thread here somewhere.
Now does anybody have any suggestions as to why the XDA app won't work properly for me? I can view threads, but once I log in and try to view a thread, it force closes.
Ah... ty.. I went back and instead of switching it in settings I opened something to type and selected choose input method and it worked ty

dolphin browser works. get it from amazon.
Facebook 1.7.2 (installed from .apk) gave me the force closes, apparently it relies on a functional GPS. However, Facebook 1.6.4 worked for me right away; no need to spoof a GPS.

[Q] Google's 10 cent apps not showing up in stock Market app

Anyone else running a stock flyer and not seeing the 10 cent app promotions showing up in the Market app? Even if I manually search for an app that is supposed to be on the 10 cent promotion it shows up as it's normal price.
I thought I could get around it by pulling up market.android.com in the browser but when I click on the link for the promotion the browser gives an error.
My work around at the moment is logging into the web based market on my laptop and sending it to the flyer, but I'm still curious why the promotion doesn't show on the flyer itself.

I haven't had that problem. I'm on HC with the latest market. Try "Uninstalling Updates" to market if you have any, and then wiping data for it. Might fix your issue.
Make sure you have the latest version of the market.
Only issue I've experienced is that they take their time putting the day's list up. They're always late. Other than that I have no issues with my stock Market.

I actually did a factory data reset, so it's bone stock with Market version 2.3.6. I don't see any way to update the Market app on this Flyer. My Flyer is unrooted and running running Android version 2.3.4.
I'm pretty sure the problem is this older version of the Market that is on the tablet by default but I'm more curious why the included browser won't got the the promotion page. That one doesn't make sense to me.

What version of the market app are you running. I had to go in to "manage applications" to find out the version # for the Market app on mine. I couldn't find that info while actually in the Market app itself like I can on my phone and Transformer tablets.

I'm on 3.3.11. While in "Manage applications", clear data for Market, and then go back and open it. Back out and leave it for a few minutes and then open it up again. That's usually what I do to get it updated. If that doesn't work you may be able to find a newer version of Vending.apk that you can install with a file explorer by Google searching.
Apk can be found in this thread

[HOW-TO] Install apps not showing up in Marketplace

Note: Root access is required in order for this to work.
Since I've found a workaround to install apps not showing up in the marketplace and haven't seen anyone address the issue other than rewriting system files, I thought I'd post this for people who (like me) don't know how to use the first method.
1) search for the app you want on Google in your browser, ie "xxx android"
2) click on the result leading to the Marketplace website (IMPORTANT: be sure to open the link with your browser and not the Market!)
3) click the "Install" button
4) you will be prompted to login, enter your info (you should only have to do this once)
5) this time, choose to open with Market when prompted
6) click the "Install" button and your app will download!
Hope this helps anyone

When I try this method, the search finds the program I'm looking for but as soon as I log in and open with "Market", not the browser, it replies with "Program not found". So I guess it doesn't work for me.
Thanks for the suggestion, anyway.

What app did you try? I can try the same one and see if it works for me. If it does, I'll try to see what went wrong.

It was iBird Pro. It cost money, but just try to get to the point to where it try's to confirm whether or not you really want to pay for it.
Thanks,
rodorr
Its not working for me either which leads me to believe its the app. Go ahead and try another free app just to see if the method even works.

Worked perfectly with Evernote.
Thanks a ton, less hunting for apks now
I checked Evernote, and Evernote shows up as downloadable for the Nook Tablet without using the work around.

Oh, well then... I feel stupid? Edit: I didn't see it when I tried searching for it in the Market app.
Just tried it with Google Maps and no dice.
Ok, I tried AVG Mobilation Anti-Virus Pro, and it came back with something like "Sorry but you can't download because you haven't paid for it" and then I got the good old "! Your device isn't compatible with this item".

I don't understand how this can work - if apps aren't showing up in the Market on your tablet, surely that's because Market thinks they're not compatible with your NT. And if that's the case, when you sign into your account in the browser, the same thing would happen of not letting you send the app to devices it doesn't think are compatible?
In browser, the Market doesn't even list my NT as one of my devices, even though I'm signed into the Market app on my NT. Any thoughts on this?
I've had this method work twice and fail a couple times. At step 5 when it opens up the market the app still shows as incompatible but it downloads it anyway.
Torrential91, can you give me an example of an app that this worked correctly for you?
rodorr
I just had it work for Real Racing 2 free version.
I tried it with facebook, but there was no download option, just a note saying it was not compatible with my device.
This method was successful in getting to the app page where i could not before.
I tried "Real Racing 2" and it did indeed work for me. It gave me the message "Your device isn't compatible with this item" but it went ahead and downloaded it anyway. So it does work with some items. Maybe it just doesn't work if there is a cost associated with the item.
rodorr
I know Google maps worked for me. I believe Tumblr also worked this way.
Seems like this method is hit or miss. Can't really say why =/ I'm not a dev in any way, just a guy that experiments with trial and error haha.
Maybe a dev can chime in on this?

[Q] Adding 3rd party apps to home / Android market

I mainly plan to use my NT as a reader, but I am interested in adding Kindle / Amazon App Store / Android Marketplace just to have the access. I've been successful except for 1 thing.
I'm not interested in a special launcher as 90% of my activity is going to be straight from the NT home page. What I'm wanting to do is put shortcuts to the third party apps on the stock NT home page. Before you say it, YES I've read the FAQ.
The FAQ directs me to get "Nook Color App Manager" from the Android Marketplace. 2 questions:
1 - Android market won't let me D/L anything. I login fine with my Google account info, but it tells me there are no Android phones associated with my login and refuses the download. I can see the app on the screen, but can't get it. How do I get around that since I don't have an Android phone??
2 - I've read that with the newer versions, the app manager isn't going to allow me to put shortcuts on my home screen anyway. Can someone confirm or deny if this functionality still works? I'm on rooted 1.4.0 by the way.
Thanks all!

Try clearing the data and cache for the market in app management. That should get it to show up.

I believe clearing data & cache in the Market app will force your NT to re-associate with Android Market.
I believe that is one of your aims.
It didnt work. I'm logged into the Android market through the web browser and my gmail account. Is that right, or is there a standalone app for the NT? When i click the web d/l link on the app I want, a popup comes that says something to the effect of "there is no Android phone associated with this account. Please sign in with another account."
Does that make sense?

It would assist others in helping you if you would differentiate between using the NT or your PC. (Both platforms have browsers and can access a Google account.)
There is a stand alone app for your device "Android Market". I believe it comes in the gApps package when using Indirect's root method.

Depends on if you are using the "Market" app or a web browser.
OK. I think I got it now. I don't like having alot of extra "stuff" on my NT, so I only used the root script to do the root and declined everything else. i went back and let the Gapps install, and it seems to be working now. Sorry for not be clearer in my original question, but all is well now.
Thanks again!
@Vol4Ever
Glad you got it working!
