You are right. But, that's universal. When you just need to go back to the stock or if have had completely messed up with a ROM.

download a flashtool and re-flash it!

[Q] Change baseband??

Some1 know if it's possible to change the Baseband in xrecovery mode or installing something(apk)?
I want to install 2.2beta4 but I can't because my phone is not recognized by the PC, He only charges the battery
And although he can enter on the flash mode but isn't recognized.
So i cant updated pro SEUS or PC Comp. =(
NO, as stated in the other thread on the same page asking the same thing.

If u can't update with SEUS, u need to use flashtool for X10, just download the genetic ROM and install it, it's easy, no big deal.
I hope u can do it, cya

You can flash the ROM via xRecovery to get the latest baseband & kernel.
Is in general section, make a little search.
I could install via flash, the problem is that my phone is not recognized by the PC, that includes the flash mode
basically the only thing I can do is use the xrecovery, and acess the SD card.
so I stuck to the baseband version of .49.
anyway I think I found the post about it. Tehouster Thanks!
I found the post but need to install the .sin files by FlashTool anyway = (

You can use xRecovery for the FW, but the kernal needs to be flashed with the flashtool.
this is the post I had seen,
Although I can install the 435.zip with xrecovery
but not to install the 435_FT.zip because this is installed via Flashtool...
By the way, installing only the 432.zip, the baseband becames Unknown and will not recognize SIMCARD

Did u unlock bootloader? Or still locked?
Flash generic ftf using flashtool or try repair using PCC.
Sent from my WT19i ExMIUI-ed
If you have installed clockworkmod recovery and able to boot into recovery, then try flashing any custom rom(don't forget to wipe cache and data).
OR
Flash a GB or ICS rom (.ftf extension) via flashtool.
you need to download any .ftf firmware for your phone.
then install flashtool.
put your downloaded .ftf files to C/program files/flashtool/firmwares.
turn off your phone, hold down the volume down button, while you do that don't let it go just yet.
open flashtool.
connect your phone to pc using usb cable.
wait until flashtool recognized your device.
then click on the lightning icon and choose flashmode.
then choose the .ftf files that you just downloaded then click on "start" if im not mistaken.
then just sit back and relax and wait till flashing finished.
that's it. your phone will boot normally.
if you dont want your files in phone memory (downloaded games/apps/settings),
unchecked wipe data and cache in flashtool before you flash the .ftf
Flash Using Flashtool
Just flash your phone using flash tool.
1. Download the respective *.ftf file for your phone.
2. And then flash using the flash tool available for xperia.
:good:
if you really want to save your data ..and you already have cmw ..
there is a tricky way ..but not sure if it would work or not
Thank you very much guys. I reflashed my phone. Problem solved, but all my messeages gone, thats the only bad thing, and Market app is still not updates to Google Play, i dont know why

Installed custom rom, lost root and cant flash ftf image of any rom.

Hi guys,
I am stuck in a very bad sitituation. I have installed a custom rom, but after some time I came to know I have lost root access. My phone's BLlocked. So cannot install cmw recovery without root. I tried flashing official Sony Xperia sk17i 4.1.b.587 .ftf file. But I am getting error as FLASHING ABORTED and the device restarts. I am attaching the flasboot screenshot. Please help me flash the stock rom, then I will be able to again gain root access.

Download ftf from here http://www.mediafire.com/?s166qsg8qaaxc43, place it into firmwares folder(delete all inside the folder before). Flash in flashtools, then flash the firmware that you want
Have you tried to repair it via PC Companion or SEUS?
Well I tried flashing more than 5 times via different ftf file, getting the same error.

Reinstall flashtool and try (don't forget to install flashtool drivers) if the problem still persists I would recommend installing flashtool and it's drivers to another computer and flash from it. It should definitely work.
Click thanks if I helped you!

Try this... Don't connect your mobile first... Choose ftf in flashtool... It will prepare files for flashing.. Then will ask to connect your mobile.. Plug your device in flashmode.. Should work..
Sent from my WT19i using xda app-developers app
Yes, do it like rachit.rc96 said, don't connect the mobile first :good:
If this doesn't work, check the box with "no final verification" when you select the firmware and try it again. But if you do this, be sure that this is the right ftf for your device

[Q] stuck in boot loop after flashing rom

Ok guys, I'm relatively new here. Been reading a lot, but never posted.
So today I tried to flash my Xperia S with flashtool.
Downloaded CM10 (FXP144), copied the zip file to the phone. etc etc.
fastboot works, but when I'm in CMW recovery and try to install the zip file (FXP144-cm-10-20121026-unofficial-anzu.zip) it fails..
E:error in /sdcard/...zip (status 7) installation abborted.
This means my phone is completely stuck.
What do I have to do?
Been searching and reading the forums for more than 3 hours now, can't find a solution...
Hello,
Think you should post this in Q and A section. I'm not sure of the codename for the Xperia s. But I'm quite sure it's not 'anzu'. Make sure you download the right zip for the device you're flashing to.
Nozomi maybe?
Hit thanks if helped.
Cheers,
Lunar.

If you can get into cwm then I presume you can download the right file to a PC, and transfer it to your phone by going to the mounts and storage menu in cwm and mounting mass storage?
You should be able to flash the correct file in cwm?
Hit thanks if helped.

There maybe an option in cwm mounts and storage menu. Mount sdcard, or USB mass storage or something along them lines. Then you can connect phone to PC via USB cable.

Hello Guys!
I have a little bit the same problem .
Any luck ?
Look for a stock rom that's a .ftf extension.
Download flashtools.
Reboot in flashboot (Vol down + power)
Flash the ftf file.
Should (hopefully) work?
Edit: Try looking for an ICS rom. The stock ones are kind of every where. GB ones are a lot harder to find.

Double check the stock ROM file you are using with flashtool is not corrupt, also I believe your problem is related to the fact that the Xperia M is not supported by flashtool, the full list of devices flashtool supports can be found here. That being said I would recommend trying to flash the stock ROM you made from the ftf in CWMR to try and take you back to the stock setup. Let me know if you still have questions I'll be happy to help you out.
