Can someone help me getting the best phone under 17,000 INR with good rom development support by xda developers ?
I have just come across Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V. Is there some other phone that suites my budget ?

As per my issue I would Luke to inform you to make a checklist about your needs and try to match on gsmarena with your checklist. I hope you will find your best one.
Another thing is no device are fully compiled for all sort of needs like surfing, gaming, music, video etc. Every device has its own pros & cons, you will find these over gsmarena too.
Please update us about your needs and your selection. So that this thread will be helpful for other's whone looking for it.
Thanks

Large screen is not that important for me. Good battery, yes. I would prefer sense but with my requirements, it doesn't fit my budget.
My requirements:
GPU for HD Games
Camera 5MP or above
Screen resolution should be good
At least 1 Ghz processor
And some other basic needs that now a days are fullfilled on almost all the handsets. Oops and also xda support/development of tons should be good.
For the above specs, I found Neo V to be beneficial. Any other suggestions ?

I don't really know how much your budget is since my currency is the Euro but for your requirements (mine were pretty much the same) I would buy Xperia Play (if you're really into gamming). I also considered Neo V but I wanted a bigger screen and the physical controls are really awesome. Neo V is around 160€ in my country and I bought Play for 200€, not that much difference.
I'd recommend a galaxy S. Strong gpu beautiful screen flash and good rom development..

I would be considering neo v or one v or gs but don't you think gs is old to buy now. I mean it was launched in June 2010.?

****.. now I'm really confused between these three phones:
HTC One V - doesn't have front camera
Sony Ericsson Neo V - less internal space and a bit old
Samsung Galaxy S - less ROM
Above phones have its cons. I'm from India and here, 3G is not yet fully established. It might take almost a year or 2 for it to get established fully.

Don't buy the galaxy s. Its a nice phone but very old and Samsung has stopped supporting it. You're better off with the Sony or HTC phone that you've mentioned.
Ps.Sony phone gets official ics.

Neo V has CM9 support from FXP Team and also we (TeamXperia) ported AOKP to it so its handy
One V would be the best choice if you are looking for a newer phone
All depends on price, if they are similar price then go for one V

Do your research on the phones available to you and make up your own mind. Never and I mean never get a phone based on how many Developers the phone has because you will be disappointed when the next best device comes out and the Devs move devices as they tend to do.
In closing make up your own mind

I've used it on my sensation and it works pretty well. Low lighting situations are pretty frustrating but you are given an alternative unlock option when those occur.

My nexus s is on official 4.0.3 and they removed the face unlock feature.. due to the low VGA camera
I was thinking "that's stupid"
So I flashed my phone with a ics rom with face unlock and I can tell you one thing... its HORRENDOUS
Probably 9 times out of 10 it won't work
Should only work well if the camera is 1.3mp+

i can't find any face unlock in ICS of Xperia S, can anyone help me?
Tried it a few times on my Galaxy 2. Worked first time every time, but then I went to work ;-)
Most of my day is on the road or in customers premises. Worked fine at the customers though I did get some strange looks. However on the road its a pain in the butt. You have to wait for the camera attempt to time out before you can use the pattern to unlock. I have gone back to the swipe.

If is his girlfriend's phone number, just don't.
Hi,
My girlfriend has a HTC Buzz: Wildfire
But he is already 2 years almost 3 years old..
At the moment he's very slow, battery is dead after 10h stand-by
But she doesnt want a big phone, the phone must have the same size as the wildfire and better as the wildfire
Well size is different with every phone, but i mean it may not be difference of 1 cm
It doesnt have to be a HTC, but no lg
So what do you recommend?
Thank you very much
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
The HTC Desire C almost exactly has the same dimensions as the HTC Wildfire (down to the millimetre).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTC_Wildfire
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTC_Desire_C
A friend of mine got a Desire C and he is glad about it. He specifically told me multitasking was working better than he expected, considering the rather modest specs of the device.
Thanks for your help, if there are more suggestions don't hesitate to say it

Anyone experience with the Sony xperia tipo?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Samsung ace 2, s advance, xperia sola!
Sent from my Atrix2 still stuck on ics
Guys im in the thought of purchasing xperia tipo to my girlfriend
B4 that I need to know something about it can you tell me the negatives in it ....???
Also positives...
Well tipo has Xloud tm experience which allows it to play music at very loud volumes and enhances the quality of the speakers. Tipo scored very high in Antutu so if your gf is in gaming then I'll recommend it. The bandwidth and upload speed is also quite good. Plus it is a budget phone. The build design of Tipo is beautiful and many reviews has given it full stars for it's build quality. Also it is very light and easy to hold. The only negative is its small screen size. But you can solve that by buying miro.
HIT THANKS

What do u think abt Motorola fire xt
Sent from my MT11i using xda app-developers app
Yes it is good too . But the most reviews I have read , it is a fail mobile. Motorola fire xt is thicker than tipo considering the mobile is from Motorola which creates very thin mobiles. In a video review I saw that it takes very long time to boot load. Also there were many problems with the touch screen. The sound quality isnt that great either. The internet is same as tipo considering if you're using the same WiFi. But I think your gf wouldn't so much in hifi technology, so yeah you can buy her this phone taking into account that the screen is 3.5inches.
PS have you tried htc explorer.

I have been wanting to buy a new 10 inch tablet and these two seem to be the best ones currently on the market.
While I like the design of the tablet Z, I am wondering if some of you can provide insights regarding the comparison... lag, disk i/o performance, resolution, etc.
Thanks in advance!
Nexus 10
Higher DPI
Direct updates
Stock Android
Xperia z tab
LTE/4G
Lighter
Thinner
Premium Design
Dust proof
Water proof
S-Force surround sound
microSD
Wi-Fi hotpot
Infrared port
Blutooth 4.0

I read lots of PDFs and webpages so I like Nexus' higher DPI, and its lower price does not hurt, either. However, I am not sure how Sony's full HD display looks like in real life when compared to the Nexus 10... I am also curious of people's feedback for the Sony-skinned Android. Is it useful or intrusive? I have not used Sony's mobile devices before so I have no idea...
However, Sony's design and the feature of water resistance are the reason that I am leaning toward the tablet z...

Sony doesnt have good support on software updates...at least not according to the forums here but I believe that is good support, if they indeed succeed on the AOSP. If they do, I would agree on the idea of the Z before the N10 but I'll wait for now.

First thing, the first two Sony Android tablets were managed by the Vaio team, not Sony Mobile team. Second, at least it seems, Sony is trying to get their stuff done and provide some good updates to all of us faster than the last years.
Some users with nexus 10 seems to ahve a bug with it randomly rebooting and wifi dropping. My wife has the nexus 10 and faces such issues. bit disappointing considering i thought stock android would be more stable.
Go for the XPERIA TABLET Z, it's just objectively better.
Also, Companies like HTC and Samsung are interferring significantly with the Vanilla Android, changing everything, while Sony only makes a few Design improvements and adds some features. Like eg small apps. TouchWiz and Sense are big changers while Sony only tweaks a bit
Well, it seems that Sony is doing a great job here releasing the aosp code officially. Hopefully they will keep doing this! =D
And, yeah, sense and touchwiz sucks.
