I made a theme for Arconium ics. I enjoy the rom but i never liked the stock statusbar, So i decided to make one for other people to enjoy.
Credits are doomed151 for making the rom,krabappel2548 for the statusbar icons i got from his rom.
I made a new version with quickpannel settings because v2 had some problems and i wasnt able to theme that one. This new one i honestly cant find it on xda anymore. I wish to give credit to the creator but i am unable to give credit where is due. When i find the creator i will put his name and a link for him.
-Directions-
Download whatever version you want.
Transfer the version you want to your phone.
Use root explorer or similar to move the version to System
Set the permisions so its Rw/R/R
Some of the files might be named like v3SystemUI.apk or v3SystemUI.apk.zip
Rename the file so its SystemUI.apk and move it to the apps folder and replace the previous one.
Reboot phone and done

Signal ash color problem should be fixed. And also updated files to have new icons color to match
I have some more ideas and will be also making these for gingerbread as well
Next Update will have more battery ideas and different color also i will be updating these and taking requests after i get the bugs out
Look great Thanks for hard work
If you can add a battery percentage it would be the perfect Statusbar.
Nice Work
I do not work properly, the screen is rotated 90 degrees and there is no way to return to its original position.
Request help how to modify statusbar toggles colour.
Hi iceofhavik,
I have decompiled systemui.apk for the ICS fw .562 version in apktools folder which has notiifcation toggles in is.
Obviously I am not an expert but I will give a go even it out of my league.
Can you help me and tell where I can open the files that can modify the colours where turn the toggle icons to neon blue or neon green please?
What are the names of files and in which folder please?
Regards,
Darkfunnyguy.

You have to use a file manager app to move or copy and paste the files to the correct folder but you must have root access.
I used the free version of Root Browser to copy the files from my download folder on my sd card then went to the root of my phone and looked for a folder that is named System. After going into that folder there's another one named app that's where you paste them in but you have to delete a file named SystemUI.apk otherwise when you reboot the quick panel won't work. It will after the first reboot but any other time after that it will stop working and the file I mentioned will take over. I made a backup of SystemUI.apk and put it in my download folder just in case something went wrong. So far everything has been good and its working 100%. I hope this helps you and isn't too confusing.

Dude, how did you get the the CRT animations to work,
im interested in adding it to the Minimal Matte theme.
Is it as simple as swapping one of the .xml files in the \framework-res\res\anim
folder ?
Or is there more work to it ?
dear punkmonkey,
i dont know how to put the animation in the framework. like you...
so i used a lil trick.
i took the framework from the "crt screen off animation" thread. next i took this framework together with my SystemUI into the UOT kitchen and changed the battery & statusbar icons. last thing that i did by my self is changed the background images in the framework and the SemcGeneric.
with this way everything is included and you dont have to know every step your self.
hope you understand...
cause my english is not perfect. ;-)

i havee tried loads of times to try and do this,i have an xperia arc with .181 , i rooted it on 2.3.2 an got an ota update so it was rooted on 2.3.3 ,every time i use rootexplorer i change the file permissions and put it in system/framework,it asks me to overite and i do,wen i turn the phone on it boot loops, btw ,thought id mention that wen i put the file on my sd card , i only put on framework.res, but when i look with root explorer,i see ._framework.res.apk and framework.res.apk,i only move over framework.apk,.any help would be greatly appreciated because i love this theme but am abit of a noob with android themes ect.edetailed instruction/youtube video would help,or any addvice, cheers
tried putting both in and it turns on and before slide to unlock it shows 'android.process.com' is not responding, this is just with the framework.res.apk and ._framework.res,this is soo annoying iv tried it atleast 20 times,a detaild tutorial would be very apreciated but iv looked everywhere and they tell me to unlock the bootloader, btw,i have a locked bootloader, also people tell me to put it in a update.zip.

Any other ideas?
List of Widgets:
Homescreen clock: make your own clock widget pro
Toggles: widgetsoid
Music: poweramp
My icons for my dock are from the adw theme glow legacy pro that I extracted to use the icons with desktop Visualizer, but will not share as it is a paid app. The other icons are from the launcher pro website (free).
INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS:
Easy way: flash via cwm. (Should work, untested)
Slow, safer way:
1. Download and extract zip.
2. Make sure you have a way to recover from bootloops.
3. Using root explorer or equivalent, copy systemUI.apk in the extracted app folder to /system/app/ and overwrite the old one (make a backup of it first). Change the permissions to rw-r--r-
You will now get FC errors and might even crash, this is normal! Reboot.
4. Do the same with framework-Res.apk and twframework-Res.apk into the /system/framework/ folder. You will crash after doing framework-res.apk, that is normal. Now download the music player.apk and googlequicksearchbox.apk and put them in system/apps/ like you did with systemUI.apk. These two are only needed if you want the themed music controls and search widget.
DO NOT FLASH 3.0, EXTRACT AND MANUALLY COPY PNGS INTO YOUR APK!
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY BRICKS/BOOT LOOPS! I am not sure if it will work on the international 4.0, try at your own risk.
Enjoy!

Hmm, I just thought of a possible reason of this not working: I am still odexed, meaning I still have a systemUI.odex instead of it being built into the apk. Now, if someone was deodexed, that would mean they wouldn't have the systemUI.odex, hence a problem, correct?

Okay, posting the systemUI.odex, will look into deodexing it later.
The only thing I don't know about is if the odex will work for a deodexed rom, or if it needs to be deodexed. For now, I would maybe stay away from this if you are deodexed, unless you are willing to go through bootloops, etc.
Here is the systemUI.odex, if anyone wants to deodex, or test something. http://db.tt/dlbsDhv8
Sent using Tapatalk
Alright, after looking into deodexing it, I have decided that I really don't have time to work on it now, as I need to get ready to go on a 2 week trip this Sunday. So, the theme is there, it should work on a stock, odexed rom, and if anyone wants, they can deodex it. If not, I will work on it when I get back. I might be able to remove the "Jim's 4.0" this evening, and make it flashable with cwm.

I believe the updated version should flash correctly using cwm as I simply sent the files through uot kitchen. And, yes, you can just install it manually, which is what I recommend. I have instructions to do so in the op.
Btw, are you trying to make this work for the 5.0, I am having trouble understanding what you are trying to do? (sorry, my fault, not yours!)

oh sorry when i first download ur zip it was corrupted, idk why.
But now it works perfect.
Also im try deodex systemui , but have errors. ( i think need jar from ur rom)
I'll pm the whole /system/framework/ folder to you in just a sec. It will take a couple around a hour to upload on my internet, so sit tight!

You can try to do it yourself.
i use xUltimate-v2.3.3 for it.

Okay, I'll give it a quick try later this evening, but can't spend to much time. I thought I read somewhere you need a Unix enviroment, but I have windows 7, so...
Here are the framework files, if you want. http://db.tt/tdOM8PUL

So, I am having trouble finding how to deodex the single app with xultimate, solution?
Well, messed with xultimate, then baksmali, but I must not have something configured right, because I can't get anything. Sorry, I might just deodex my whole rom when I get back.

Ok, it is even possible with stock ROM
But root access is needed. If you have it, i will provide you further step by step guide, if you want.
Yes..i already got root access..yeah could u give me a guide please
Sent from my X10i using XDA
Here we go:
1.) Download Total Commander (TC) for Android (recommender, could also use others root capable FMs)
2.) Download the file SystemUI.apk located under this post and copy it wherever on your phones SD card
3.) On phone, go to the /system/app and locate SystemUI.apk and BACKUP IT! (copy it wherever on your SD card)
#
Optional step - if you are afraid of loosing your data and of "bricking" your device, i recommend you to enable usb debugging. Go to system settings -> Applicatons -> Development -> Enable USB debugging. It will appear in notification bar.
#
4.) Remount system as read-write and replace original SystemUI.apk with provided file.
5.) Set permissions for the SystemUI.apk as for all read-write (rw-rw-rw)
6.) Your phone will show a message, that process notification bar has crashed. This will loop, dont care about it, its normal.
7.) Pull out the battery, wait a while and turn your phone on.
8.) Enjoy!

Are you sure with this? I am sure that this is not nessesary with apps in /data/app path but dont know about system apps (even I am changing their res many times and doing some coding inside them). Maybe linux everytime marks apks as executable itself...
I am in PM with him, so will tell him about this. But maybe there is problem with extended toolbar inside notification bar - i thing it needs modded framework-res.apk for resources also.

SystemUI does only work in /system/app, and manually installing something in system require correct permissions.

Know that system apps like SystemUI.apk requires to be installed in /system/app and needs proper perms. As I checked that linux makes this automatically, thats why I didnt care about it anytime.

Works very beautifully in Stock 2.33 after fixing permissions, no FCs.
Do you have a SystemUI.apk with Brightness control compatible with Stock 2.33?

It's very beautiful this way, but I don't need it to be transparent.
I'd be glad if there was a SystemUI with brightness control that works with Stock 2.3.3 ROM without FC...
P.S. When installing apps in System folder, besides fixing permissions I soon reboot manually the mobile. This way I have no FC and it doesn't need removing the battery.

As requested by TheGreatSega, I have managed to disable auto rotation of AOSP ICS lockscreen by editing bools.xml for res\values and res\values-land
Thanks to HANSIP87 for original mod
P.S Music Player also works in lock screen(no missing buttons)

Prove of lockscreen rotation disabled:
Replace framework-res.apk in system/framework.
Set permissions to rw-r--r--
Remember to backup original framework-res.apk or have a nand backup(CWM)
Take note that this is for 4.0.3(.562)
On user's requests, I am currently working on 4.0.4(.431/.587)
Should be done within the week since I am still studying.
Edit: Finished 4.0.4(.431/.587), see under Attachments
Thanks to zbycho_s for posting up the original framework-res.apk
Please help me test and feedback if there is something wrong
At the request of lynx_king, I have created an update zip which can be flashed. This is for 4.0.4(.431/.587). If anyone needs flashable zip for 4.0.3(.562), pls request and I shall upload it.
Update: Zip file fixed, there was some erratic code which caused the installation to go wrong.
At the request of rence1234, I have modified the lock rings so they have union jacks on them instead of the defaults. If you guys want a custom lockring for your framework, please post a picture of the lockring icon and I shall modify the lockring and post the apk on your request post. Don't forget to mention which framework you are using(4.0.3 OR 4.0.4)
Update(18/10/12) - Progress on Jelly Bean Style lockscreen, currently combining and editing Galaxy Nexus and Arc resources. Main issue would be the music player.
REMINDER. PLEASE RENAME THE FILES TO FRAMEWORK-RES.APK! I changed the names of the files so I could differentiate which files were for which firmware. ALSO DON'T FORGET TO SET PERMISSIONS TO RW-R--R--. I WILL NOT REPLY PM'S or POSTS REGARDING BOOTLOOP BECAUSE OF WRONG PERMISSIONS
Hey could you help me with my framework into this as well? as my has kinda on-screen keys set and i don't really want to change them
Edit - eh my framework is from 4.0.3 and not the one posted around here so if yer free, i post it right here so you can help me =p

That should work, but I prefer to use 7zip... More of user preference...
You can use my framework-res.apk bmp files for that.
Sorry about not able to help since I just started modding. Got my android phone only recently. Not easy to pick up android when you have experience with windows programming, the two are so different.
4.0.4 done
Mod done for 4.0.4(.431), please see first post.
Mod for 4.0.4(.431) updated with original resources
fantastic i wanted this like crazy...! well done

I downloaded flashable zip, then flash it but my LT18i (ICS 4.0.4, stock kernel with CMW and stock ROM) doesn't boot up, just show SONY logo, then for few second show XPERIA logo and then black screen showed and all of it starts again and again to infinity. No idea where is the problem, but I have to restore my phone.

need help from the coder
I found a same tweak like with with aeonworld? Its actually a frameworkres mod from xperia S, that gives the same lock screen with music controls.
the difference is with his mod, there is a persistent auto-rotation, which i am very happy to see that you have fixed.
but then again, after flashing your mod, i found that the pointer (on the text box editing) went back to blue instead of the xperia s ics style.
would it be ok if you can fix that? its not a bigdeal for many, but i believe it will help us all get a full xperia S ICS experience.
Thanks!

I can try, but I will need the framework-res from you as I need to extract the pointer files from it and place it in my mod.
Glad to know that it works on Xperia S though, I thought that it would work on ARC/ ARC S only.
