Hi, is there anyway we can change sim cards in our phone w/o having to turn if off? Like an app or workaround to unmount sim card and mount sim card so that even when it is on, it will be possible to change sim cards. Thanks in advance!
Purely out of of curiosity - why would you want to?
Just insert the new SIM, hold power button to enter airplane mode. Then repeat to exit airplane mode, and it will recognize your sim & network settings.

A lot of devices require the battery to be removed to access the sim card. Just pull battle change sim and wait a minute for reboot

I own a Telus Galaxy S T959D. When I updated to Froyo through Kies I started having this problem. Whenever I turn off Airplane Mode a message pops up:
> SIM car removed
Sim Card Removed. Reboot Phone.
I've tried installing nero v5 to see if it would fix it, but same problem.
Any way this can be remedied?
Have you reseated and cleaned your sim just to make sure its truely not the sim card causing the issue?
Sent from a Galaxy S far....far....away.
Yeah. It doesn't seem like its the SIM card itself. The problem only comes up when put it in Airplane mode.
Hi akumasakana,
I'm receiving the same message, "Sim Card Removed. Reboot Phone." Have you fixed this problem? Thanks.
I too am receiving the same message and my Galaxy SGH-T959D (rec'd w/Froyo updated) was just bought/activated 10 days ago. It doesn't really seem to need a reboot as the data starts to flow again after about 1 minute after I set airplane mode off.
Can this be ignored?
I just got this phone from a friend. is there a way to get around the activation so i can just use the wifi and sd card for music?

To bypass activation screen, press emergency call button, then at the dialer, press *#83786633, then press the Home key.
Thank you very much.
Hi there,
I have this Android chinese phone which was given to me as a present, no manual.
My problem is that the phone has two SIM slots and after I turn the device on, it boots and tells me that 1 SIM is missing. What happens after that is that it recognizes the SIM card in the other slot and connects to my mobile provider but the connection lasts couple of minutes and than I have no signal for a while. After some time, the connection to my mobile provider works again, but after another couple of minutes, there is no signal again.
I presume that the phone wants to switch to the other SIM which is not there.
How can I turn off this switching from one to another SIM?
Or do you have any other idea what could be causing this (regular) disconnection.
Does anybody know how to enter in boot mode (or any other mode where I could influence this switching between the cards.
The phone does not have any installed app which I could use to influence this SIM-switching.
Thanks for any help/advice

Anyone have any thoughts on this?
My HTC One XL has had a problem with sim detection for a while. Occasionally it will not detect the SIM,but I could fix it by turning airplane mode on and off a couple of times. But it has become more persistent, and is now refusing to detect the sim. This is pretty annoying, as I have spend a lot of time and effort rooting etc.
If I pop the sim I get the SIM not inserted warning. If I then push the sim in, that warning disappears, but after a few seconds, the SIM detection error icon appears.
What I've tried:
It's not the SIM card. I also have a One X (quad core) and the sim works in that.
Tried the sim drawer from the other phone.
tape on the sim
nandroid restore
airplane mode cycling
Is there anything else I could try to bring this phone back to life? I don't want to root the One X, as I need an unrooted phone for certain banking apps that I use.
Hello everyone,
I have a problem with my xperia U phone, yesterday the screen suddenly went blank, i could see some backlight but nothing would turn the screen on, pressing power button would restart the device. After some googling i figured out that this only happens after i enter pin number of my sim card and if phone is in 2G. Solution was to remove sim card, set it to 3G, reinsert sim card and then it was ok. I tried factory reseting the phone but it doesn't help. What could be done ?
