[Q] Anyone got 2.3.4 update from kies?

Hi, i got the 2.3.4 update from kies about two weeks ago but i was wondering if anyone has seen any difference since i dont see any, its suppose that my talk should have
Video support yet i dont have i did get a new market but not with the firmware update.
Anyone has had the same experience

Your band version should be KG5 then only you can do voice and video chat..mine is kg5 and its working fine with me..
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
Yep my baseband version is KG4 so i guess thats why i dont have video support for talk, but is there a way to know what changes came with this formware update? Battery life seems the same, maybe a bit better but i switched to more minimalistoc look so i run less stuff.
Also the baseband version i suppose one day i'll get an update right?

You have a very old Gingerbread baseband from september last year. LPS works excellent, I'd give it a try.
Downloading LPS now from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1131950&page=105
does Vodafone has any different modem for SGS2?
Still facing same issue upgraded modem LPS Its still the same.
Strange thing is Use 2G network and Data Enabled is unchecked itself whenever I had this problem.

There are a larhe number of modems .
Start with the last one and work your way back .

Best way to find a good Modem is testing them all.

You need a computer and a thing called search and you look on XDA thread for Modem post with flashable modems .Like most stuff its found in development .
But you would do better to read the basics first .

To my best knowledge not yet. I myself have had this question open for over a year now and have never gotten a straight forward clear answer.

Don't understand what's wrong here.. The tab has GSM radios, can receive SMS... AND i can make calls via Skype and viber.. So I wonder why devs doesn't just mod the phone.apk to work with this?
Nexus Cm9 + Franco
I agree
I agree 100% and what I really don't get is the 7.7 HAS circuit switched functionality and it is basically the same hardware / modem as the 10.1
Let's hope for a solution on this.. Maybe with the official ICS release something will come up.. And maybe the cm9 team can make us happy with this feature

How to contact Samsung developers to correct bug?

There is really annoying bug (affecting Galaxy S3 and also Note 2) that is not corrected continuously through Android updates (not even in 4.1.2.) and I want to inform Samsung to take care of it but I don't know how to contact them (I cannot find any link/mail address). Do you have any contact/link in order to submit bug?
Thanks.
Samsung or Android bug.?
Samsung.com
Doubt very much if developers have a contact us.

Ask them for sources while you are at it. :highfive:
Thirding the motion, what bug? (of several)
Amusing that the bug isn't mentioned. Good job I like guessing. Here's my entry:
http://developer.samsung.com/forum/board/thread/view.do?boardName=GeneralB&messageId=201147#post22
The bug which I was mentioning several times here and on my local forums: swapped stereo channels when recording video: left is right and right is left. Someone will say to hold phone upside down but then complete picture on PC is rotated by 180 degrees. This bug was also mentioned on XDA for S2 and Note 2 devices (after upgrade to ICS) and discussion was left without proper solution.
This bug is still present on the latest 4.1.2. although someone wrote that Samsung told him/her that this will be corrected in future versions (6 months ago).
Poldie: can you enter it on forum which link you already provided?
Thanks.

So it keeps freezing, what can we do?

A lot of people do experience frequently freezing after the latest update from Samsung. A few send in to repair and some did do their own magic stuff. But so far there isn't any clear solution. I think we ow a explanation from Samsung. This is a well known problem and people all over the world have it. But how can we get Samsung to take care. We didn't pay 600 € for a phone that freezes all the time.
I gues I bring mine in repair tomorrow.
Any tips?

Bring your phone to repair...this will increase the failure device KPI Samsung might have.

Yes but I read that a lot of people got there device back from repair and they just reinstalled the firmware and that solved nothing. So I just don't want my phone away for 2 weeks and it didn't solve a crap...

very very few have a freezing problem a lot of the actual freezing problems are user error not a fault with the phone .

In service centre they will only format your phone, u can do it urself. They people only have one solution that is reinstall firmware.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Yup I would fully wipe your device and reinstall the update. This is one of the reasons OTA will always cause an issue.
But I think I have a problem. 6 months ago I dropped and my camera screen came off... so that problaby meens I void my warranty?

? Sorry..?
Do you have memory of dropping your phone or maybe installing an APK that is not safe?
Maybe that could be a problem for you.
Just a question, not the answer.

The last time it dropped was 6 months ago. So I don't think that's the cause. I also resetted my whole phone a few times so an APK can't be the problem either I think. Or the APK must have broken some hardware? Is that possible?
Since the latest update from Samsung I haven't had any problems with it! What I noticed is that when I clear the RAM memory it only closes 10 apps. Before that were 30 apps. Does the update just limit the RAM or does it close less apps?

I installed the latest file from PHN from sammobile ( I9300XXELL4_I9300PHNELL2_I9300CEELL1_HOME.tar ) After the update my broadband-version is I9300CEELL1 , Buildnumber I9300XXEMC2.
Another question. When everything was OK and I didn't do anything, in the playstore my phone was named as T-mobile Samsung Galaxy S3. Then I installed the PHN version from Sammobile and now it only says Samsung Galaxy S3. In recovery it also says Applied multy CSC. Should I get another region code, the one from T-mobile netherlands?
