So my 80 G9 got the dreaded battery dead issue (bug in the android UI made it think it was charging when it wasn't, so it drained and died)
Now I'm stuck. I've got it plugged in and it's doing the pulse 4 times then long blank then pulse 4 times... On the LED, and I'm trying to get it to charge. Any ideas?

That happened to me before.
I left my G9 flat for a good bit and left it charging for a day.
It booted.

My G9 seems to be tatally dead since this morning.
It happened once before that it didn't start up, only flashing LEDs but than it suddenly worked again after some hours being connected to the charger.
But now it's different. I was using my tablet, i think the battery was not empty but the device got unresponsive and I hold power 10 seconds to switch it off and on to reset the device. But it didn't turn on again. Not even flashing LEDs, nothing, just dead, and still dead after some hours charging. I regret having bought a G9, this device is nothing but trouble.
EDIT: OMG, power LED just turned green after having had the charger disconnected half an hour and than reattached it.
Looks promising, will leave it charging an hour before I try to switch it on.
EDIT2: grrr, green LED just means the still dead brick is fully charged
Same here.
Tried everything. Could not get it to charge. I returned it and got a new one.

I've suffered from 2 battery issues.
1) i drained the battery so much it would not turn on even after plugging it in
solution: plug it in for a few minutes/hours/days untill it wants to turn on
2) device would not receive a charge (who knows if this was my fault or archos fault)
solution: hope you have not had your device more than 1 year so you are still under warranty and ship to archos for them to fix
right now i'm waiting for archos to ship me a new device

if i was not under warranty i would be with u on that one. i've heard of ppl getting free upgrades after they ship for repair...might as well take the gamble xD
my device is not charging at all and usb is not working and battery level is 28% any
suggestions?
put the device in warm environment for around 30 minutes and try to charge it. I used my room heater and air conditioner to make it warmer and then it started charging. Thats how G8 devices are getting through this problem. Try it with your G9 hope it works!

Hey guys I'm getting some really slow battery charge over here. I've had my phone plugged in the OEM ac charger for over 3h now and it went from 5% to 50% and the phone is getting hot also. I haven't touched it at all for those 3h and data is off so no internet. I don't get it. It's usually fairly quick maybe 1 to 100 for about 2h.
Edit: I'm running capcomalpha with fraux kernel and stock battery.

The following suggestion may be of no help in your case, but I've experienced something like this as well, mainly with CWM that doesn't support off-charging. The phone will look like its charging but is actually drawing just enough energy to keep the phone alive. Also, the charging light will turn off after 15 mins or so. One way to ensure that your phone is getting charged adequately is to check the screen; if you see an ultra-dim screenshot of CWM then you'll have to periodically remove the charger and reinsert it "restart" the charge. Then try to boot into android to complete the charge.
The phone is on I rebooted it and it jumped from 55% to 68%

You bumped a thread that was still on the first page after only 7 1/2 hours? Please don't do that again, not that I agree with bumping threads, but it is for when something needs brought back to the first page, not while it is on the first page.
do your have a case on? the trapped heat is cause the phone to slow down charging. it is a safety feature. off the case and flip over when charging. it should charge faster.

The phone has no case and was on the table so i guess there was nothing to make it overheat. Sorry for the bad bump i guess i was just desperate.

What version of Recovery are you on and as you said your using faux kernel. Try to revert to stock recovery or stock kernel and see if there is a change or behavior of your phone. And try aand see if fastboot is check on your power under settings..
you said it was hot. maybe you have some app in background using cpu. hence power drain and overheating.
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda premium
Ok i swithed to stock kernel and its doing the same thing. I reflashed the rom and didnt install any apps to see if thats the case. I also noticed ita doing it only when the battery is low- 10% or less. Then the phone heats up and its barely charging. If its above 50% it charges fairly quckly and doesnt heat up. Ill see how stock kernel does tonight and report back.

Hey
I have aproblem that is so strange!
For example when I turn off my mobile it restarts!
Even if I pull out the battery and put it in it just power on automatically! !
Sometimes if the phone successfully was turent off, when I press any button it indicates that it is charging!
And now the battery is full even though am using it for around 2hrs
So my question is: is it a phone hardware or battery issue?

as i said it just went away after a while i think the problem is being caused by overcharge, so when u keep charging it to 95% the voltages come back to normal.
In other words charge it till 95% for like 10 charges and it will be fixed.

Phone was working great..
CM 10.1 LATEST BUILD
HBOOT 1.40
4EXT RECOVERY MOD
This is how it started... Was driving to LA noticed my phone was dying 14% , plugged into the car charger then checked to see the drain/charge mAh lucky it was at 658+ mAh arrived to my destination unplugged the battery and it was at 72%.
Restarted my phone just to restart .
Listened to some music battery was at 67 then bam.. Phone turns off!!!!!!
Now I tried powering it on NOTHING. No red light, no dimmed light. Plugged in the wall charger original port and USB cable.. No charging light. Tried pulling battery out , putting it back in nothing. Left it on the charger for an hour just to see if it will pick up a charge, nope nothing.
SO SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?

I had my phone today and everything seemed to be running fine but I happened to let it die completely while in my pocket. I went to plug it in and no LED, no charging, no nothing. When I put it on my wireless charger, the charger's green light says it is charging but my phone doesn't seem to respond to anything. I tried holding down Power+volume up+volume down and still nothing. Before it happened i was running official CM10.2 and the crpalmer kernel and everything seemed great. What do ya'll think?

Ouch. At least you have a backup. I'm assuming that you don't have the insurance? I've never had to use it, but as expensive as these things are and the fact that I have 3 children makes me paranoid.

I just let it sit overnight on my desk and tried plugging it in again this morning. LED began flashing and once it turned solid I booted it up and everything seems normal. That was weird. I will try and prevent the battery from draining the entire way again.
You can still add insurance. Call and they will add it. I had no ins for 5 months and decided to add it.

Battery pull
When that happens, the battery usually has to be pulled for it to turn back on. The problem is, the DNA doesn't have a removable, or even easily accessible battery. This same problem happened to me a while back, and the remedy was to pry off the back cover, unscrew the metal plate holding the battery connector to the board, and unplug the connector for about 10 or 15 seconds before reconnecting it. After that, charging LED came on like normal and the phone booted up just fine. It's only happened twice in the last 3 months, and it works every time.
Lesson learned - don't let the battery die!

It's official. My old DNA is dead. I had it plugged in the following day after it started working again. When I woke up, it was turned off and refused to turn back on. I am not sure what happened. I am guessing the battery shorted out or something like that but who knows? I've since moved on to the HTC One and I'm digging the upgrade

I had the uber kernel installed and oced to 1.9 cpu but it wasn't even that hot.. After thinking it was the Rom that was causing this I did a complete wipe and flashed the candykat Rom, upon boot when the cyogenmod log in screen appears it shut down and rebooted again.. twice. I'm hoping nothing is damaged internally. I am able to stay in the recovery just fine without any problems. Please help me.. And when I say shutdown I mean insta black screen and reboot..

Idk if I will do that lol. But now I think I know what the problem is. So yesterday I was using my note and it shut off. The battery was full and when it restarted the battery all the sudden dropped to 60%. It turned off again and went to 1%... I thought it was glitching when it said 1% but after amin it shutdown due to low battery. One thing I then tried was having my phone plugged in while using it and I played games, used my phony heavy and what do you know.. It didn't turn off. So I'm thinking I have a bad battery. PS: I took my note to a pawn shop and they said the battery was bloated. He said it wasn't supposed to spin while on a flat surface.. What do you think?
It seems while I'm playing a game the battery heats up and that causes shutdown cause I'm typing this and I don't have my charger plugged in and its fine..

Yes a bulging battery is a sign that it's bad. Batteries are cheap. Especially on eBay. I buy an extra battery and charging dock for all my devices. This way one is always fully charged, and I don't have to plug in the device unless I need Odin or to file transfer. I learned that lesson 2yrs ago when my usb charging port went bad.

No you won't see the power menu. It just keeps restarting. I don't think you'd even see your home screen because it restarts before the rom loads.

Oh well then. That's awesome because I'm able to use my phone for more than 5 mins without it shutting down. It usually shuts down when I start playing a game or something intensive. So it has to be the battery! I'm really happy.
