I had my phone today and everything seemed to be running fine but I happened to let it die completely while in my pocket. I went to plug it in and no LED, no charging, no nothing. When I put it on my wireless charger, the charger's green light says it is charging but my phone doesn't seem to respond to anything. I tried holding down Power+volume up+volume down and still nothing. Before it happened i was running official CM10.2 and the crpalmer kernel and everything seemed great. What do ya'll think?
Definitely sounds like you're going to need a replacement. I'm hoping you have a warranty?

Nope. I've had the phone for more than a year. looks like ill be using my old thunderbolt until i get my upgrade.
Ouch. At least you have a backup. I'm assuming that you don't have the insurance? I've never had to use it, but as expensive as these things are and the fact that I have 3 children makes me paranoid.

Nope, no insurance. I'm regretting that now though.
my friends dna did the same thing. he let the battery run out one time overnight and it would never charge or turn on again.

I just let it sit overnight on my desk and tried plugging it in again this morning. LED began flashing and once it turned solid I booted it up and everything seems normal. That was weird. I will try and prevent the battery from draining the entire way again.
You can still add insurance. Call and they will add it. I had no ins for 5 months and decided to add it.

Battery pull
When that happens, the battery usually has to be pulled for it to turn back on. The problem is, the DNA doesn't have a removable, or even easily accessible battery. This same problem happened to me a while back, and the remedy was to pry off the back cover, unscrew the metal plate holding the battery connector to the board, and unplug the connector for about 10 or 15 seconds before reconnecting it. After that, charging LED came on like normal and the phone booted up just fine. It's only happened twice in the last 3 months, and it works every time.
Lesson learned - don't let the battery die!

This it not true. Or atleast where I live it isn't.
It's official. My old DNA is dead. I had it plugged in the following day after it started working again. When I woke up, it was turned off and refused to turn back on. I am not sure what happened. I am guessing the battery shorted out or something like that but who knows? I've since moved on to the HTC One and I'm digging the upgrade

So my DX2 is DEAD and whenever I try to Start RSD Protocol process it says "Battery too low to flash" and it won't charge. Everytime I try to charge it, the phone powers on and stays on the "M" HELP?!!!
It still charges while the M is on. Just maybe let it sit like that for an hour or so then try RSD.

When you actually brick a device, you cannot see anything and nothing, nothing will happen. You answered your own question. Just plug your phone in while on that screen and give it another try in an hour or so.

Yeah thats true too. No offence, just sounds like a user error. Maybe get another battery? Thats why I'm so glad when they swapped my X for the X2 they let me keep the X battery and my girls when she went to the INC2. They sent me a 1990mAh extended battery too so I got two spare original batteries I keep charged. As the other two said again, let it sit an hour or so, try RSD and I'm sure your phone will come back. Even if you get a 100% after RSD and says to manually boot this phone, if it bootloops, battery pull, go to android recovery, data and cache wipe, reboot system and all should work from there.

You are only soft bricked, which means you only need to either wipe devak cache, wipe cache, or possibly do a factory reset. Unless you flashed a system file that put your X2 to sleep till you sbf. Now its sick and it needs to be sbf'ed. Bricked is when it needs to possibly be sent back to Big Red for a Transplant or burial.
Because it is no longer able to get juice through it's motherboard, and turn on.
"I could be wrong" but I soft brick 3 to 10 times daily. Just flashing stuff I have no business flashing. But I flash ReRecovery after every file I flash, just in-case.
I also have a Recovery on hand to restore my system.
I never flash on a low battery. Hope I explained it well enough, Good Luck!!!
I don't want you to think I was being a smart a$$ just trying to explain in a way that most understand.

Cut a micro usb cable
Strip the red and black wires
Strip the green and white wires then twist those two together
Attached the black to the negative - on the battery and the positive to the + on the battery. This will manually charge the battery.
Be warned: you can overcharge your phone. Overcharging is bad so don't do it.
Use this method at your own risk. Neither Ace nor I are responsible for what happens!

Every day my HTC AMAZE 4g keeps shutting down multiple times a day, is there a fix or should I request another one from T-Mobile?

I'm having the same issue. 4-5 times a day it'll just shut down and then take it's sweet time rebooting. Im rooted running stock 2.3.4 trying to upgrade to ICS which kind of tumbles into another issue. I'm trying to do the update to ICS via the OTA update and when it powers down it just boots into the Bootloader screen. My status for my bootloader shows <RELOCKED> followed by <SECURITY WARNING>.
If anyone could shed a little insight that'd be aces.
The random reboot issue seems to be battery related from what others have stated.

I can confirm this. I called t-mo and they basically told me that I'm SOL on a battery replacement. So, I got the Anker 2 pack on Amazon for 30 bucks, and I haven't had a reboot since.

same thing with mine. went through 2 amaze 4g's and 5 batteries in 2 months. I end up buying a new battery once every 2 weeks.
One thing i know that WILL kill my battery is if i plug it into the outlet on an amtrak train. Every time i exit the train, its dead. Learned that the hard way.
I also keep the rubber case that came with it off. It happens less and less that way. I think it's overheating, since it was very hot out each time.
Hello guys,
I've also about the same problem, My Amaze is Asian version with JuopunutBear S-OFF and ICS Speed Rom installed.
The problem with my phone is that while its charging or in use, it doesn't shut down, but when idle for some time with no music application running in background, it shut down.
then it doesn't turn on unless you pull the battery for a while and re insert it,
Can anyone plz tell me what's the issue, is it battery or some culprit application?
Thanks
I had the same issue on my phone. It was due to the kernel issue .I flashed super wipe once & flashed backup again . Now my battery is ok & I found no rendom shutdowns anymore . try this if it helps you.

I used to had the same issue. Tried updating Android using stock, changing the ROM to a custom one (CM, Energizer, etc.), changing the kernel. nothing seemed to help. Any kind of oc/UV?
To me it sounds like a thermal shutdown... Usually if you plug it in and try booting it will fix it but I'm not 100% certain what your case may be.

Hello, I am having a problem with my note and it is scaring me. As soon as my note boots it is shutting off completely and restarting. I was just using it with fine last night. I had the uber kernel installed and oced to 1.9 cpu but it wasn't even that hot.. After thinking it was the Rom that was causing this I did a complete wipe and flashed the candykat Rom, upon boot when the cyogenmod log in screen appears it shut down and rebooted again.. twice. I'm hoping nothing is damaged internally. I am able to stay in the recovery just fine without any problems. Please help me.. And when I say shutdown I mean insta black screen and reboot..

there are many that are not scared, I am and wouldn't do it.
if you are saavy enough, many will open phone up and clean the contacts and switch with a swap and some rubbing alcohol.
are you sporting enough?

Idk if I will do that lol. But now I think I know what the problem is. So yesterday I was using my note and it shut off. The battery was full and when it restarted the battery all the sudden dropped to 60%. It turned off again and went to 1%... I thought it was glitching when it said 1% but after amin it shutdown due to low battery. One thing I then tried was having my phone plugged in while using it and I played games, used my phony heavy and what do you know.. It didn't turn off. So I'm thinking I have a bad battery. PS: I took my note to a pawn shop and they said the battery was bloated. He said it wasn't supposed to spin while on a flat surface.. What do you think?
It seems while I'm playing a game the battery heats up and that causes shutdown cause I'm typing this and I don't have my charger plugged in and its fine..

Yes a bulging battery is a sign that it's bad. Batteries are cheap. Especially on eBay. I buy an extra battery and charging dock for all my devices. This way one is always fully charged, and I don't have to plug in the device unless I need Odin or to file transfer. I learned that lesson 2yrs ago when my usb charging port went bad.

If my power button was stuck would I see the shutdown menu before it rebooted, shutdown, reboot, sleep, etc? I'm just trying to make sure my battery is the problem.. I don't want to deal with a power button..

No you won't see the power menu. It just keeps restarting. I don't think you'd even see your home screen because it restarts before the rom loads.

Oh well then. That's awesome because I'm able to use my phone for more than 5 mins without it shutting down. It usually shuts down when I start playing a game or something intensive. So it has to be the battery! I'm really happy.

Well my phone shut off again when using another not as bad but still a bit puffed out note battery. I don't understand what's going on here... I'm scared to buy a new one thinking that It won't work still... my phone never turns off as much when the charger is in... But guaranteed with battery only. Less than 10 mins.
