[Q] cm9 for cmda razr? - Motorola Droid RAZR

HI, I was looking for cm9 for the cdma razr and could not find it, I tried seaching as well. Could somebody give me a direct link?
Thanks!

I could be wrong, but I don't think that we can have CM due to our locked bootloaders. Anyone know for sure?

This isn't real CM9 is it? I was under the same impression as those above me. I actually read last night that there was no CM9 for the RAZR.

There are unofficial builds of CM9 and AOKP.

i've been looking as well.. i believe it is also the locked boot loader.. hoping there is a way around this

I'm currently running an unofficial CM9 built by a member at droidrzr.com who has asked me not to tell anyone who he is until it is released, but it's pretty stable.
There are a few bugs, but video works, panorama works, and it has full theme support.

No official cm9
As previous posts have mentioned, there is no official cm9. However, there are a few unofficial cm9 and aokp roms for the leaks. The ones I like are KOA rom (based off cm9) and KOA aokp. KOA link: http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/2366-rom-koa-rom-any-leak-5252012/
AOKP link: http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/2405-romcdmakoa-aokp-b38/page__st__300__p__51963

[Request] Official CM9 and AOKP support.

I was wondering how to request the developers of Cyanogenmod and AOKP to make an official port of the RAZR XT910/912. I mean, we've got an unofficial port working already and MIUI is also making an official RAZR ROM, so how to get started with CM9 and AOKP. I know that the code freeze for CM9 has started already; but they have mentioned that they'll take new devices into considerations.
Not possible. we need a unlocked bootloader for a custom kernel, to have fully functional aosp

Not completely true. There are some rom based on cm9 and aokp that works on gb kernel and ics leak but they are cdma only (you need a gsm patch to make them work on the xt910)

Best CM7 Kernel?

Hello, I am looking for the best stable Photon 4G CM7 kernel. I want Webtop working so I don't wanna flash a CM9 kernel. Something that will work with peetr_'s rom for the Motorola Photon 4G. I have an unlocked device. I saw that Jokersax11 had some CM7 kernels but I don't know which one to flash. Some say Wifi is broken but I don't know where I would find it.
And I am looking for a direct link to his work if allowed. Thanks guys.

Since when does Webtop work on CM7? I won't direct link you to any specific kernel off of Joxers site as he has requested we not, but heres a link to his thread here on XDA with links to his blur as well as CM7 kernels. Ive used most of these and can state the ones I tested work, but still be safe backup and test everything out to make sure it works. Better safe than sorry.

webtop does not work on anything other than moto roms.
if you want cm7 kernels for a cm7 rom. (not peetrs because that's not cm7) i recommend asking in the cm7 development page.

To answer your question for others, the best kernel is the one provided within cm7.

[Q] How do you flash AOKP 4.2.2?

Good news, our Razr (xt912) is now officially supported by AOKP and they released Build 4, which is 4.2.2. However i do not know how to flash this rom so any help would be nice.
Here is a link to it: http://aokp.co/release-jb-mr1-build-4/
Thanks
I think..
( I think ) you must on JB Kernel and Flash bootmenu manager. İts just RAZR XT910. I did not try XT912..

I just went from a rooted stock ICS, installed Safestrap 2 (couldn't get 3 to work) and installed AOKP and GApps and it's up and running just fine.
You can be in both, JB leak and ICS kernel, you just have to choose the right rom...
Also, you must not flash it on stock slot...
EDIT: Never mind.

Really ? Im on JB leak i downloaded AOKP for CDMA Spyder and i can´t boot..... I think it is only for ICS kernel...
The official AOKP releases are for ICS kernel only. There are builds by dhacker which work on the JB kernel (XT912 only).
I installed bootmenu manager, 3 wipes and flash umts_spyder_jb.zip and reboot but not opened. And then Im back to the Stock İCS.

i tested this build JELLYBEAN_KERNEL_ONLY-alpha-JB-aokp_spyder_unofficial_Feb-07-13.zip
Its pretty fast and nice but it have same bugs as CM 10.1(no camera...)
The camera should be fixed once Verizon pushes the official update and the devs have time to compile the drivers.
They stated soak test signups yesterday(?), so it shouldn't be to long.
Any other major bugs, or is it pretty clean? Also, did you follow the same instructions as the link I posted?
on BMM
how install this rom on system_2 of Boot menu manager ?
wont boot on System 2 of Boot menu manager ...
another AOKP rom boot on system_2 but this rom wont
how is battery performance in this rom compared to china leak jb?

CyanogenMod 10.1 becomes Officially Nightly

Just sharing the information I saw today in Google+:
Motorola Droid RAZR/RAZR MAXX (XT910) and Motorola Droid RAZR (XT912) are now officially supported by CyanogenMod Team.
As they said in this post, the developers who are porting this ROM to us joined the CM family.
You can see the Device page here:

Hope we all could enjoy it's stable release soon!
wow I have been waiting for this, very awesome. I hope we can see stable builds soon :good::good::victory:

Per the web site: "This is for XT912 with stock ICS KERNEL ONLY!"
Awesome... hope they solve the bluetooth issue soon.
We'll likely see it stick to ICS Kernel only until a bit after the official Jelly Bean OTA, at which point you'll start to see dhacker and Hash switch things over permanently. I still can't believe that a new Motorola device is supported, much less one as locked down as Verizon has the CDMA version haha. Kudos to both dhacker and Hash for their hard work on all this.

The bluetooth has been my biggest pet peeve with 10.1. I really wish I could use 10.1 daily but it doesn't make sense for me without bluetooth functioning correctly.

Running this with the 20th March nightly on SS3.11. Wondering if anyone has been successful getting it working under BMM or if anyone has even tried with CWM? Happy it works under SS but kind of perfer the way BMM opperates and would like to give it a go... any thoughts ??
Many thanks,

Well, I'm using it at the moment, so the current kexec official builds definitely work with BMM
JFYI, the kexec official builds also work after performing the OTA JB EU update. Just removed SS3.11 saved root with OTA Root Keeper, Flashed (held breath) booted all good.. renabled root, reinstalled SS.. booted into recovery, selected by CM10.1, wiped cache and dalvic (a few times each for good measure) rebooted and away she goes... now I've got 4.1.2 Stock and CM10.1 4.2.2 under SS. Happy Days!
working fine with bmm.there are some issues.but it is good enough for daily use.:good:

[Q] JB OTA vs CM10.1 or AOKP

Hi Guys,
Might be a bit of a noob question but I'll shoot it off anyway. I'm currently happily running SS3.11 with UTMS_Spyder CM10.1Nightly with ICS EU 4.04 Stock on XT910. :victory:
Everything seems to work like a charm and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what benefit there is to taking everything back to stock and flash the JB EU OTA?
Seems like until Hashcode and Dhacker get CM10.1 and AOKP running properly with JB Kernel I'd actaully be loosing functionality?
Any devs care to comment / clarify?
Cheers,
Phil
It's really just personal preference. There used to be a whole list of things that didn't work on AOKP/CM10 however Hashcode/Dhacker have worked extremely hard to iron them all out, it's really impressive. CM10 just updated to using the JB kernel meaning there is no more graphic tearing and battery life is almost the same as stock. Bluetooth problems were fixed last month. I think the only big bug left is automatic flash on the camera (however this still works when setting manually).
But to answer your question, technically running stock you are losing functionality. CM10/AOKP are running 4.2.2 while stock is 4.1.2 (I believe), meaning there's a whole bunch of features missing in stock. CM10/AOKP are being updated nightly meaning they will only improve while stock... well it's just stock. There wont be another update unless something is seriously wrong or Motorola decides to upgrade to the next AOS. Stock also includes a crapton of bloatware which slow down the phone. Even if you manually remove/freeze everything, I still believe CM10/AOKP to have better performance than stock any day. Hope this answers your questions
Sv: [Q] JB OTA vs CM10.1 or AOKP
I just love the customizations that cm 10.1 gives you. I can never go back to stock again. I also run the hotplug governor un order to save battery (one cpu shuts down when not in use) with noop scheduler. This tips were given by the poster above! Try cm and you'll never go back!

Is there an AOSP ROM that works with the leak JB kernel that the camera and tearing is fixed or only the soak kernel?

Well then... I think the decision is easy. Wait for Moto to release JB Fastboot and the amazing devs here to make a root tool and update CM10.1.
Why take a step backwards from available functionality for an official OTA.
Cheers Guys,

Thanks, I was running AOKP previously but have paid version of Juice Defender which started complaining that it didn't like ASOP base and I should switch to Cyanogenmod. Besides that compatabililty issue though I do really like AOKP ROM.. and did find it both fast and very stable.
