Anyone else experiencing a 4G outage? Or did I screw something up?
I was on the ICS leak, then downgraded back to .173 and had no 4g. Did the .181 OTA and still no 4g.
Anyone have any ideas?
My 4g works just fine, so something is wrong on your end. Well I guess there could be a localized 4g outage in your area.
One thing that could help is to try reprogramming your phone, *228.
*228 does not reprogram 4G phones. That's what you have a sim card for. Try powering down, remove the sim card. Wait a min, install sim card and reboot phone.

oops, so used to 3g phones, good to know.

The same thing happened to me when i went back from the ics leak to stock rom. It changed my baseband version when installing the ics leak, but that baseband didnt switch when i went back to GB and thats why my 4g didnt work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks!

Thanks, I just did those steps and its failing halfway through the install. Is it because I am on .183?

Helps to read the thread my man. It clearly says you need to roll back to .173 first.

If anyone has issues w using a utility and have no 4g base band do what I linked and it will reinstall the 4g baseband. 181 doesn't include a new 4g radio so this will be necessary

Just curious.
Has anyone come across a hack for the US Cellular 2.3.5 sbf to allow a flash back to the Sprint sbf?
This would be fantabulous since it was just announced that the Photon will be getting the ICS update in a few months. I'd like to get mine back to stock before that update comes out.
Thanks!

But I don't want the Electrify sbf. I need it to be back to Sprint. I'm trying to get the OS back to the Sprint Photon sbf so that I can do the OTA to 4.0 when it becomes available.
If you are rooted and unlocked, you might see a downloadable flashable version of the official rom in here shortly after it comes out.

That'st the problem. I can't be unlocked with the Electrify 2.3.5 sbf. It's impossible. I have successfully rooted it but can't install a ROM from recovery. Keeps giving an error. Probably because the bootloader is locked and can't be unlocked.
This is exactly the reason why when I had the 2.3.5 Electrify SBF that I didnt make it a public post.
To this day I still haven't posted it.
People PM'd me for it so they could use it, hack it, whatever, and I warned them that it would lock the phone down.. Of course once I let it out, other people spread it....
Lesson learned I guess.

I only flashed it in desperation after I had already jacked my bootloader. Before I flashed this sbf, I tried fastboot flashing every img file out there. None worked then I tried flashing sbf file after file and this is the only one that took without erroring out. I didn't load it on purpose to hack or modify it.
I just want my bootloader unlocked so that I can have at least a fighting chance to get one of Sprint's sbf's flashed.
check your pm's
I have the same issue!! I need to get my phone back to Sprint as well!!! I have the USC 2.3.5
I need the stock uscc 2.3.5 sbf because i am rooted and did the ota and now its partially rooted somehow and im having an issue with my phone speaker and need to send it in under warranty. If anyone could please help id owe you my life. Thanks in advance.
Honestly we should start a bounty for this. I would certainly pay to have this thing unlocked so that I can get back to my regularly scheduled programming.

hello anyone??????
Try a full wipe and reflash. Are you on sprint's network??

I've tried that.. even ran an ruu re did the s-off thing.
And still no 4g.
It still shows virgin mobile.
Wish I knew what happened...
Well it shows virgin mobile because of the firmware update. I was asking if you were on sprint's network?? As in is that your service provider.
Also try this to see if it will help

Maybe your wimax keys got screwed up. There uses to be an app called 'wimax key checker'. If that's the case then I think the only thing to do is get a replacement phone.

1,000,000 Thanks to halfevildruid for his Photon Unlock GSM thread and Lokifish Marz for his All things MoPho! thread.
halfevildruid gave a 4 line "guide" to unlocking GSM on a photon.
1-SBF to stock base. Root your phone, unlock bootloader, install custom recovery and perform a nandroid backup of your stock rom!
2-Flash KDDI radio from recovery.
3-Flash your ROM. You may need to enable GSM/UMTS in your mobile network settings. You also may need to enable data roaming and set your APN's.
4-Profit! If all you wanted was the unlock then your done! otherwise...
I dont want to get lost in his 50 pages and wanted to reach out to the Photon portion of this community for a slower...more detailed "How-To" for someone like me. LOL.
I can read. VERY well. And if there are guides to each step needed, I will read them and complete them.
So here is MY photon...
Basic, stock photon. Rooted. Bad ESN so I dont care to ever get back to sprint. I have a t-mobile but the phone is not as beautiful as my MoPho.
Can I PLEASE get a slower, slightly more detailed explanation of how to bring my MoPho back to life with my T-Mobile Sim?

so its easy once you do it once. 1st. unlock the boot loader (http://youtu.be/YCv4RzO2324). 2nd. root your device(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xAYkejI4CE&feature=share&list=PLDE378F92431C38DF). 2.2nd get rid of the sprint verification stuff. ( google it, you'll need root explorer to do so.) 3rd. install clockworkmod( the middle of the video [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfJJ0h4d-80&feature=share&list=PLDE378F92431C38DF]). 4th. find a rom that will work with this hack.( the link is on the instructions page.) and 5th. back up using clockworkmod. 6th. flash the gsm exploit first and then flash the new rom. this is how i did it and after trial and errrrrrrrrr i finally got it but i redid it and it took me about 2 hours on a single battery while taking care of my kids and cooking. hit me up if you got questions.

I cannot unlock the bootloader. I tried but keep getting an error people say comes from already having 2.3 on the phone. Im about to smash this phone into pieces. Can't sell with a bad ESN and can't turn it into another network...

Revol Wireless a $50 a month unlimited everything prepaid plan, has the Photon as "Under Development" for flashing to their service.

that will depend if you can unlock. All you have articulated so far is that you have 2.3 which could include 2.3.4, 2.3.5, or another earlier version.

either find someone who will accept it on a CDMA network or sell it to someone who can use it outside of the US (for which the GSM is unlocked).

i dont know if we can just flash the dev edition??? and then flash the tmobile ratio??
I have a t-mobile variant that I changed to the developer edition thru s-off but for some reason, I feel like my data speeds are slower. We are talking about 2-7mbps from 10-20mbps.... So I don't know if I need to flash something else to it.. Like the t-mobile radio.. But how would I do that?

Unless you specifically did that via RUU, the radios did not change. The ROMs don't contain the radio.

Yes, I changed the RUU to the one provided on the htc website. I also changed my Cid from its stock to Cid 11111111 hypothetically speaking, if I wanted to go back to complete stock, is that possible? If not, what is my alternative to enjoying the developer edition

Ouch, that may have flashed the radio. There are a couple of threads about flashing the TMO radio (attempting to get AWS on international ROMS). You could flash the radio from those, but I don't have a high confidence that those radio files contain everything needed to get AWS back onto a TMO phone that has been RUU.
Here is one of them, take a look:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2247171
EDIT: Eventually TMO will release an update for 4.2.2, that will definitely take you back to stock.
Oh ok thanks a lot. Dan I didn't know it would do that .. I hope I didn't screw my phone up... But hopefully the RUU that htc will release in the future will be beneficiary to me.. Because I still have 3g, hspa+ and in sure I will get low

Yeah, be sure and read the requirements for flashing when it comes out. I think you have to go back to stock recovery, for one thing. Good luck!
started with stock rooted evo lte rom, twrp recovery,s-off then i flashed to stable cm10. I had no sprint service so i went back to the rooted stock rom and the problem followed. I tried searching on the forums and tried the different solutions ive found still no dice. I return to unrooted stock with RUU and the problem presists. Anyone have any ideas?
What ive tried
1)return to stock rooted rom
2)got msl and tried to program phone
3)returned to unrooted stock with 3.15 RUU
4)called sprint customer serice
*im assuming since the problem started when i flashed cm10 thats has something to do with the problem.
