When the app was not used (and not running in the background) I havent used navigon for days.. but battery usage section says it is draining 20% of the battery, sometimes even 30% if display usage is low. How do I shut navigon europe down ? I remember the first time of usage it was okei, it sucked battery while in use and didnt do anything while turned off.. but now its sucks battery even then turned off. yes gps if turned off? Any ideas ?

go 2 manage apps find the same app and clear the data and cache of the same and reboot hope it resolves ur issue
nope it wasnt that. I turned off "floating car data" will see if that helps. but its most likely send them data while navigon is on and not turned off. So if navigon keeps draining my battery while being compleatlely turned off I must say either android or this program sucks
I use Navigon and have never had a problem with any wakelocks/drain/whatever when it isn't in use. I have 'Use internet connection' set to off & 'Use GPS' set to on, 'Floating car data' off.
I just got the S3 and I have the same problem with Navigon.
My S3 finished charging before I went to bed, I turned off wireless, etc and turned on flight mode.
When I woke up in the morning, the battery was at 97%, the Navigon process was taking up most of the battery.
The service is NaviBluetoothServiceApiLevel

Just curious what you are seeing under "Time without a signal %" which you find under Settings - About phone - Battery - Battery Use - Cell standby.
I have a Hero that is rooted and running 2.1 and showing 50%.
Thanks
%5. It was %70 before I did the charge in airplane mode trick.
I did the airplane thing too but mines at 0
33% for me. Did airplane mode trick and haven't had a restart since then.
50% here on rooted 2.1 as well.
What's this battery airplane mode trick?
31% after leaving the phone plugged in an not touching it overnight. Up time 68:49:32 and Awake time 16:41:50 if you need that too, as there's been issues of 100% awake time as well. Of course I've done the airplane trick before, and after a restart, it was back to 100%. Then found out that Meebo was the cause, as it was keeping the phone awake connected to all my IM accounts. Turned it off, and no more 100% awake time, and no more problems.

So i have found one solution thanks to a thread over at another site....
Seems as if there is some sort of bug with with Cell standby that causes the phone to lose signal which in turns just kills the battery. To verify that your set has the problem, check the Cell standby info in the Battery Use info. If the Time without a signal is higher than 0% (50% seems to be the norm) than you have a problem.
One solution, at the moment, is to follow these steps:
1. Plug in phone charger
2. Put phone in Airplane mode
3. Put phone to sleep for a minute
4. Turn off airplane mode
5. Unplug phone
I can confirm that this works and my Time without a signal is at 0% for over 9 hours now. The battery life is MUCH better and the phone didn't die on me last night while i was sleeping.

I am at 15% after airplane trick...My awake time is 78 hrs and some change so i think its pretty accurate. let the phone battery drain down and then put into airplane mode. Do a full charge and restart phone...then turn airplane mode off.
50%, geeze... doing airplane trick
After implementing the "airplane mode" method, it says my time without signal is 0%.
my show cell standby 12% android system 58% is this normal
yes another.
Is it necessary to drain the battery and do the "fix" or exactly as the quoted text states? I have tried, and my signal strength is a dot and the standby after is now at 23% from 17% right after, is it going to climb from lack of use or is this not resolved?
Your help is appreciated.
I have found that doing the Airplane mode on, sleep, then Airplane mode off will work without having to connect to a charge. The only thing the charge seems to do is reset the cell standby number. This makes sense since the percentage is based on when the phone was last connected.
What will happen is your percent number will keep going down after the "fix" which is what you want. If having a number really bugs you then add the connct in there.
My time without signal was at 50%. After doing the "no connect" it is showing 13% after 3 hours. it was 28% an hour ago.
Ok thats what I was thinking it was, on a bit of a side note, I no longer go to a lock screen when I press the Power button, i went ahead and set the display to something like 30sec but what just happened?
Works for me
I tried this and it works for me. At most i have 5% and by an hour later its at 0%. Thanks for the tip.
Rooted, running 2.1 rom v0.5.4
23% for me.
I had 50% also but had not really noticed any worse battery life.
Just so it's clear,
the airplane trick needs to be done EVERY boot.
If you restart your phone, you have to do it again. Every time.
Is this bug a result of flashing a specific rom or leak, or is it because of a specific radio?
My puter wasn't recognizing the phone so I had plugged and unplugged about 6 or so times with rebooting the computer and phone. Now the phone is draining way to fast, it's been off the charger for 10 hrs and the battery is at 13%. Since i noticed this happening I have been charging it all night after it drains and dies. What should I do to get my battery life back?
Under settings>applications>running applic. check and see what's running, there might be something you installed old/new that might be killing your battery in the background. If it keeps happening, since you're running stock rooted is all, you might want to consider resetting the phone back to factory and see if it takes care of the problem.
I think that I know what was happening, but I will have to see what kind of battery life that I get tomorrow. THIS IS HOW I THINK I KNOW WHAT WAS HAPPENING. While at work I walked up near a co-worker that had happened to be turning on his wifi (iPod Touch) and my hotspot showed up on his available network list. I didn't have Barnacle activated. This was 6 1/2 hrs after unplugging from the charger and my battery was at 18% by now. I immediately uninstalled Barnacle and rebooted to see how it affected my battery life the rest of the day. So, 4 hrs later battery goes down 1%. Before I uninstalled it I looked under the "Runnning Services" and it wasn't showing up. Could I have had my settings setup wrong in Barnacle and what other wifi tethering Apps work well? I will post up about if my battery life gets back to normal tomorrow.
After uninstalling and starting new today. The same time when my battery was at 18% yesterday, it was at 75%. So, what did I do wrong with Barnacle, were my settings set up wrong and is there another tethering app that others would like to suggest?
I had this problem once. I had dropped 9% battery in less than two hours and wondered why; I had left the Mobile AP turned on.

Where is that in the settings? I downloaded it again to check for that in settings and don't see it. How do you have yours set up?

I'm sorry but I don't see this setting. Could you please write a step by step process. After I did some testing my phones network is still showing up until I reboot the phone.
My DNA battery has gone crazy. Last night the battery was at 66%, I restarted it and the battery went up to 76%. Today, the battery was at 33%, I rebooted it and the battery dropped to 17%. After that I rebooted it again to see if it would go back up and it dropped to 14%. So I did it one last time and that battery then went up to 24%. I dont get it and on top of that my battery life has been terrible recently.
To try to extend it I have installed Lux to manage the screen brightness, I have turned off backup and Google Location Service.
I got Nova Launcher yesterday to see if that helps, I'm using Greenify to close apps and CleanMaster to get rid of junk. I dont use Google Now or have any apps sync/receive notifications besides Messages and Phone. I can't get through the day and I don't use my phone from 7am to 12 in the afternoon.
I have 25 apps installed from Google Play and all the bloatware and useless apps disabled. I use Next Browser instead of Stock/Chrome
Any solutions or suggestions

Maybe just try to do full cycles with the batter to re-calibrate it, charge it up 100%+ and drain it 99%, rinse/repeat a few times.

Ive read that you arent supposed to drain the battery and this phone is unpredictable for when it will turn off from a low battery.
Sometimes it turns off at 8%, sometimes it might turn off at 2%

You're right about draining the battery however we cannot fully drain these batteries. The system shuts the phone down when it hits a certain level, however you can still power the device back on after it does this, thus the battery still has charge and not fully drained.
And yes they can be unpredictable.
Mine will shut down when it gets to about 5 percent but I was using it one time and it went from 8 to 2 in a second and powered itself down. I think they all act weird when they get really low but your issue sounds like the battery is on its last leg.

According to your battery stats, what's draining the battery the most? Also download GSam battery stats to get a more detailed look at the apps and services that are consuming battery.
Maybe your battery is past its prime, but you want to be sure its not an app or service draining things before giving up.
My Droid 3 and 4 are still going strong as long as I charge them fully and then periodically drain them to 10%.
I recently installed CM11 on my S3 with tmobile and the battery drainage is terrible. Ive searched other threads and the rate that others drain is miniscule compared to mine
I charged last night and went to sleep with my phone at 100%, when I woke up it was off, when turned on, 2%
Below attached is the screenshot of battery usage
I had Juice defender on, i set everything off (i think)
wifi was off, location/gps was off
I even turned off the blinking indicator light
20% an hour while idle means i'm obviously missing something here, please help? I don't know what the bars in the image mean but i was pretty sure i turned both those off
What can I do to fix this?
Go to Wi-Fi - advanced-untick always scanning
As for GPS some app might be using it...
For battery Install better battery stats and give it root permission and let it stand for 4-5 hours... And see what's causing your battery to drain...

Hi all, I want just to ask you if my battery drain is normal . I am on stock rooted odexed, stock kernel, s off. See the screen I did

Fast Battery Drain
Hi Frenix,
I also have an HTC ONE MAX. It's new and I've the same problem. IT'S NOT NORMAL FOR 3200mA!! See the screen I did, also if I don't use the phone, the battery drain very fast... (the first 7 hours the I didn't use the phone and it was in airplain mode). When I don't use it, the battery goes down very fast but when I use it, the battery works correctly!! This is Crazy!!! I've tried everything like charge cycles, disable all connections, reset the system to factory settings, and reset the statistics of the battery. It is definitely a sowftware problem, because if the battery is under stress, it works correctly! Consumption is given by 50% by phone on standby or idle and if the phone is also TURN COMPLETELY OFF, it drain faster than the phone turn on. I don't really what's the problem, but is not possible that a 3200mA battery drain in 1 day also if you don't use it. Do you report the same problem?

Looks to me like a wakelock issue. Some application is preventing the system from going into sleep mode. I'm working on the same issue.
When working properly, the phone should only ever be awake when the screen is on.
Use GSam Battery Monitor from the Playstore to see what is eating the battery and go from there. Depending on what ROM and if rooted or not, you can more than likely correct the issue.
calibration
i probed of calibrate the batery??
I'm running Nusense my wake lock was caused by Google Now (search). Try disabling it and see what happens. I used an app called wake lock detector.
