Hi
I've tried copying files, from both a USB stick plugged into the dock, and also SD cards in the dock, to the internal memory, and I can never get it to complete. Sometimes it just fails straight away, other times it will start copying but then fail mid way through. I've tried copying single files as well as entire folders, I've tried with the default file manager and also Astro.
Any clues? On holiday at the moment and could do with copying some photos onto the tablet.

Why not try just copying it to the MicroSD on the tablet instead?

Dont have a microSD card installed, just the internal memory.
I'm trying to copy files off an SD card onto the internal memory, keeps crashing, any clues?
I have the same issue. Sometimes using astro or es file manager works. But its really slow either way. I think its due to the I/O issue on the prime.

I had this problem the other day. I was going from internal to sd in the dock. When I changed to the micro sd slot it worked fine.

I love my keyboard dock. It's very easy to use, but one thing that's annoying is SD memory cards won't show up in the Gallery when they are mounted. The mount point is /Removable/SD/
I can copy the photos over, but I'd like to be able to view and upload them to the web from the card.
Anyone know of a solution?

When using a microSD in the TF itself, the photos show up in the gallery app. Is this different from using the dock's SD reader? I don't have the dock.
If yes, THIS is your solution as it was mine. I use the microSD with adapter in my Canon G12 and put the microSD directly into my TF's microSD reader, start the gallery and view the photos from the microSD card.
PS: The microSD images showed up in the gallery after opening one of the images with the file manager app.
Thanks for the suggestion. I actually have one of those adapters. I'd like to be able to keep my 16GB microSD in the TF at all times and use my 16GB SD card in the camera as well. I can always dump the photos onto my home server for safe keeping.
I do have an 8GB micro-SD that I could probably use in the Oly Pen camera, but again I do like having my 16GB card in there for the HD video.
I hope Asus comes out with a firmware update that addresses this issue. I'm sure I won't find many iPad lovers in here, but it sure was nice being able to import photos from the SD card to the gallery. The dongle sure did suck. Maybe I'll have to simply breakdown and get a 16 or 32gb micro-sd card.
Thanks again

Hi,
I have used a SD card adapter which has an 16GB microSD card inside it. The card doesn't show in the Settings->Storage. Can anyone help me?
first of all, make sure the card is formated in FAT32.
The tablet won't read it if it's not.

The SD card will never show there. It's not a part of the system storage.
Mine is plugged in now and you can only use the preloaded sony software 'file transfer' to move files to and from it.
The app 'file manager HD (honeycomb) ' by RHYTHM from the market is a must have if you own this tablet and an SD card!! You can still load all your videos and extra files on the SD and view/use them with that application without having to copy them to the system. I use it as the time

I've actually gone back from ES to Astro again. Once you change the settings to make the SD and USB shortcuts point to the right place, the experience is really effortless and seamless. Just my $0.02 obviously.
Ihad the same problem with my 32gb sd card until I formatted it, but now I have only 3.2gb left internally and no way to transfer my game files over to improve the internal memory.OMG.
What wereSony thinking of, I woulde never have bought this if I only had 8.5gb of space.

You must have filled her up hard? I got 3.3GB+5.4GB free on my two "internal" and about 25GB free on my 128GB SDXC card.
lol, yeah, pretty hard. GTA3, brothers in arms and adrenalin 6 are only a few. When i used my Dell Streak I used my 32gb class 10 card and it was half full with games.
I am now having to be a little more selective with what I put on, which isn't that hard since a lot of the games are having incompatibility issues.

I got like 7 psone games and five others on my tablet and still a lot of space. I guess mine is kinda small compared to yours. But the psone at least take a few hundred mb each.
don't know if you already solved your problem but I've inserted a brand new sandisk sdhc card and it wans't recognized either. Then I've tested a lexar sdhc card and no good either.
Conclusion to get recognized:
Open "file transfer" app it's one of your sony s apps
then insert the sdcard and automagically the sdcard was recognized and I can use it
It seems stupid but worked

Hi,
I briefly scanned through the forum, but I couldn't find any issues about it. I am currently on holiday with limited internet time, so please forgive me when there is already a thread about this topic.
Here is my issues: I store my pictures and my video from my cameras on the prime via SD card. That worked out fine until I applied the. 21 upgrade. Now the SD card hangs randomly while copying files and gives me an error message that the respective file is not available. Same happens when I watch these videos or pics directly from sd card. When I unplug and plug the card it works again for a while.
Happens with thw internal card reader as well as with the one in the dock.
I was so stupid to apply the update during my holiday. It worked fine before.
Any idea what this could be?
Hello, i am actually having the same problem i think. I popped in the sd card from my digital camera into the dock and it will not load any pictures. It shows that they are there, but just says loading when I click to view them in the gallery.

Ok so im fast running out of space on my internal SD card and would like to watch stuff from my external Sd card on my 360 however for some reason it only scans internal SD for videos so Ive come up with some ideas and wonder if such a thing exists.
1.a program that allows you to only mount the ExSD card on the xbox which in turn means you could use your phones storage whilst watching a video
2. A script that mounts the ExSD before the internal.

Ugh ok..... Ever since I formatted and didn't restore the old system settings the xbox is now showing a directory structure in videos however when I select the external Sd folder nothing else Is showing up... Still I'm halfway there

Rezound running NilsP ROM (Sense 3.6) and 16G external card.
Phone has a lot of internal space taken up by some backup files, pics and videos (in dcim folder). External card only had about 2.5-3Gb space taken.
Went you a street festival and took some videos. Got to a point where phone indicated storage was full. Tried moving some files to external but phone still seems to think max storage is limited to 10Gb.
Seems the phone thinks whatever is on ext-sd is part of storage limit and is limited to 10Gb.
Am I missing something? What's the value of having a 16 or 32Gb external card if the limit restricts the actual usable storage?

Have you rebooted since you moved the files? That should cause the service to rescan both internal and external storage.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I did a complete power down. I also thought that might help the OS recognize the file moves. No go.
It seems to me the system is including the symlink, or however ext-sd is mapped to sdcard, in what the system thinks it's limited to with no external card.
Is this a side-effect of the direction Android is going (without external cards as part of native support, a la Nexus)?

I think it is something funky with your phone. Mine uses all the memory. I currently have 9 gig filled on each internal and external.
Two questions:
Are you saying your internal has 9 gig and your external (ext-sd) card has 9 gig of other files? Not saying I don't believe you, just wanting to confirm I'm reading your response correctly.
Other question - are you using NilsP's ICS ROM? If you're not, I'd be interested in what you are using, stock or otherwise, and if it's ICS or GB.
Thanks again for your replies.

Check for a folder called .Trash1000 or something similar to that. If its there, delete it and it should clear up a lot of space on your SD.

Yes, using about 9 gig on each.
Currently running Ineff Dues, but I've also used NilsP's ICS and had no problem.
Try what Obat suggested above. That folder is a hidden folder and may not show up in all file explorers.
I've seen the .Trash folders before on some SD cards (wife has a Mac laptop).
I'm using several file managers and have never seen that on my phone's micro-SDs.
Appreciate the replies, guys. At this point, I think I'll wipe and install again.
I'll post again after that with my results/experience.
Thanks.

Probably way late on this, but I only see it when I'm using Linux and I choose to show hidden files.
You sure you actually moved the files from internal to external or did you copy them and leave a copy on both the internal and external...
Make sure you actually deleted the files after the move so you don't have two copies. I use es file explorer and you have to go in the settings and change it to show hidden files (files with a . in front of them) to see the .trash folder.

Just a follow-up as I promised:
I was using a 16gig card for almost a year, had a 32gig available and wanted to do a few things to update my phone (ICS 3.x to ICS 4.x; NilsP's Sense 3.6 to his Sense 4.0 ROM; cleanup the memory card space, etc.).
My suspicion is that the external card had some corruption (or perhaps it was system-related).
Since I made several changes, I'm not sure at the moment what the culprit was, but things seem to be operating properly and (best I can tell) I have access to ~10gig for internal SD (SDCARD) and ~32gig for the external micro-SD (SDCARD2).
Appreciate everyone's concern and suggestions for help.
