Should ping go up during peak times (650ms) - HTC Rezound

My area just got added to 4g on April 19th and my speedtests have been good outside of 7-11pm. My ping goes from 80 offpeak to 600ms during peak time. I have run tests all over my city and its the same from everywhere. I'm in 48843 zip code.
The downlink speed looks good regardless, but the ping actually makes browsing really slow.

It's a shared network sooooo......... Even worse if your in a area where the net users are more dependent on Cellular service then DSL cable and so on. If your in the sticks well string and a can only works so well ;p

I think this is a lack of capacity at the backhaul site. The bandwidth is there, but it can't handle the requests. I'm not a professional, but that'd why I'm here

[Q] Wifi and the recent ICS leak

I just installed the recent ICS leak and all's well so far, save for one little thing. i have an airport extreme at home, and while it appears to connect to my wifi, it's not listed on my AE's connected devices. furthermore, i still have the 4G LTE icon as well as the wifi icon. So, it seems that it's still using 4G. I've tried the wifi other places and all seems well.
Also, when i FORCE it into wifi (put in airplane mode, turn on wifi) it works fine.
Any ideas?
rats... was going to post a screen cap. i guess i have about 5 more posts to go before i can.
maybe now?

interesting... another AE at work, set up pretty much just the same, but i can see in the airport utility that it IS connected, but same result here... 4G LTE icon next to wifi.

Looks like there's been an LTE cell switched on near my apartment near the Allston/Brookline town line, near Harvard Avenue. These are LTE speeds I consistently get from it throughout the day. Except for the ping, it's faster than my home cable speeds!
Anyone else in Boston find pockets of LTE starting to appear as well?
(My Evo LTE is running the latest CM10 Android 4.1.2 rom.)
Scroll down a littleways and post this in the LTE thread. They are gonna lock this thread. There is a running list of areas with LTE in the first post and the op updates it regularly. Not trying to be a [email protected]#k just trying to help keep the forum clean.

WiFi speed issues... Already googled

So I originally had issues with LTE speed and WiFi when I first got the phone and ended up getting a HTC One M8 and kept both (I do development for my company so why not have more test devices I guess). I just picked up the gs5 again and updated the firmware and while LTE seems as good as it gets for my area, WiFi is still horrible.
I have the 300gigabit/second fiber from AT&T and a 802.11ac router with WPA2 security and my other devices get between 150gigabits/second and 250/second. My M8 just did a test and it was about 160 whereas this does between 40-60.
I know it has to be something with my individual device because I've seen speed tests on the forum that are what I should get.
Any ideas for what could be the issue? Using the stock deodex room rooted/unlocked.

wifi problem

when bluetooth is enabled i get less than 1Mbps speeds but when bluetooth is disabled im back to 40-50Mbps. I use bluetooth and must be enabled.
Can anyone help? Only received the phone today.
:good:
I seem to be having the same issue, have you had any luck fixing it?
Yip I reset the phone and all ok now.
It seems the problem is back.

I don't think there's a fix, but I can provide some explanation. According to the FCC documents Bluetooth / WiFi share the same antenna. Bluetooth operates on 2.4Ghz just like WiFi. According to FCC they cannot operate simultaneously.

I need an external antenna

I regularly use my Mi A3 at my desk (inside). Unfortunately this leads to a massive reduction in dataspeed compared to outside my door. Would an externat antenna fix this and, if so, how to I install one?
You use a cell phone signal booster, it's wireless.
My cell phone is my modem. My ISP signal comes to the phone and transfers via Hotspot to a tp-link connector and thence into my PC. It is data flow to the PC that I am really interested in.

Desk is where the PC is. All the other locations are within ten minutes bus ride from home. Is the 'cell phone signal booster' going to help?
Not sure... it may not.
Voice calls don't use that much bandwidth.
Thanks. I'll check the signal strength at those other locations.
