You can install a rom for any phone but unless it is for the i9100G model or indeed whatever model you have it will brick the phone .
I would have thought that it was obvious that flashing firmware or roms for different model phones would be part of the basics understood from reading the faqs and guides first .

Note, your phone is a i9100G so almost everything on this forum wont work on your phone.
The easiest way to root would be to flash this kernel, and if you want a custom rom, this rom.
They are the only custom kernel/rom for the i9100G
So just download it and flash it It wont stuck ? cuz it stucked last time on the start up screen ?
And bare with me cuz we all start at a point when i use the odin what do use pda or csc phone or bootloader ?

If you want to *just* root and dont want to flash a custom kernel, this thread has a full guide
Im sorry, im not going to type out the info in the linked thread again.. its very easy to follow.
If you want to flash the kernel;
1) Download the file, it should be a .tar
2) download odin
3) download and install drivers (if you have kies and drivers installed kill kies from task manager)
4) put phone into download mode (power off, press+hold home+voldown then press power)
5) open odin
6) Connect the USB cable and wait for the ID:COM section to turn yellow#
7) put kernel in the PDA box
8) hit flash
Many many thanks brother ive just rooted it and i hope u put this method in the forums for guys like me lol
And just a last Q what do i use roms and custom kernel for ?

Custom kernels add: CWM recovery, flash zips, nandroid full phone backups, any other features in the kernel.
Custom roms: Any mods/themes/etc in the rom, read the two threads and see if you want any of the features.

Use an insecure kernel here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399, have a look at your kernel version in settings, and then find the matching version in the thread.

It is a G model. (GT-I9100G) See here for more info near the bottom of the thread. (which, incidentally, I found with a simple google search for "jpkk1 root". It was the first result)

If you have a Note, why are you looking in the Galaxy SII forum for ROMs? Go to the Note forum. But make sure you go to the specific Note forum for your particular model.

yes you should not have any problems. follow guide in the thread's first post and you should be fine make sure you backup your rom first
Make sure you are rooted first before flashing any custom roms first though.

You have to help yourself as per the rules see Q12 in the FAQS.
All your questions have already been asked and answered .
You have to decide what rom by reading the rom threads .

Thanks, atleast answer this, is the chainfire root v6.4 safe from sudden death issue,..? i really screwd my s2 last time due to that bug and dont want s3 to share the same fate.. little help would be appreciated.
You are better using auto root and then flashing a recovery like Phil's that includes the fix, but I'm not sure if Chainfire updated the old cf root, if he did then it should be fine, check his thread to see if he updated it with the fix

Nope he has not updated it., would you recommend going for siyah 1.8.9 as it gives auto root and its mentioned that its safe from the issue.
Should be ok, you will still need to flash a protected recovery I presume

see .. if i flash siyah.. i get root + recovery.. and after flashing cyanogenmod 10.1 the kernel would be replaced by cm kernel, which is free from that issue ( acc to some thread),and i guess siyah's recovery is protected as he has mentioned it in the changelog..
