[Q] Help - bricked Xperia Mini... No Kernel! - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Noobie here. But I have been ultra careful in checking and rechecking all the methods for preparing my Xperia Mini and flashing custom roms (I've read many threads on XDA and watched loads of YouTube videos).
Here's my problem. Using CWM, I flashed the correct MIUI rom for my st15 mini. I then went immediately to flash the correct kernel for this.
In CWM the only option is to flash a '.zip' file... but as the kernel I placed onto the SD card is a '.img' file... CWM didn't not find it in the list of files available to flash.
After seaching everywhere to try to find out what I'd done wrong, I had no choice but to tell CWM to exit and close down the phone.
Now, the phone starts itself and gets stuck on the SE boot screen. And it's impossible to get back into CWM. Sony's program for restoring the system recognizes the phone but instructs me to launch it before it will restore (which, of course, I can't do). Flashtools also recognizes it but doesn't seem to want let me flash anything to it.
Clearly the problem is the phone cannot now find a kernel to boot with.
ANY help on fixing the problem - and letting me know where I went wrong in flashing - would be very much appreciated.

[Q] Can We Flash ROMs n Kernel With flash Tools.

My phone is stuck at SE logo.. Xrecovery is also not working.. SEUS also not working. Can rom be flashed vai flash tools . Actually i installed wrong kernel on my rom n the phone became unresponsive.. Please can anyone help. Cant get my phone working.
same here... please can some one help us in installing kernal or roms through flash tools?
if it's stuck at se logo then Seus should work...
flash stock firmware with flashtools and start all over.
Yes, you can
Hi.
I went through something similar, if not the same.
My rom got corrupted with the new kernel, I lost xrecovery and SEUS asks for the SD card to be mounted, which cannot be because ROM did not see it after kernel update.
before reading further, you need to have your phone rooted, you can do it via xrecovery, easily found in this forum.
what did I do to solve it?
***EDITED****
I installed a generic ROM via flashtool, you do not have to boot the phone to do it, the bad thing is that everything will be wiped from phone (not from SD though)
you can find generic X10 stock roms in this forum.
After that, you will be good to go.
hope this helps.

Wrong Kernel with FXP-CM7 ROM. Won't get to xRecovery

Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew a way to get back to xRecovery so I can flash my back up to where it was.
I was trying to load a new ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1238402
I rooted, loaded xRecovery 0.3, and flashed it. After that I was stuck in a boot loop with the SE Logo hanging and I couldn't get back to xRecovery, so I used Flashtool and loaded one of the kernels that came with the tool and managed to boot successfully, but apparently the WiFi gives an error and it's being iffy when trying to communicate with Flashtool again (When Asking for Root Permits, it won't give the prompt on the phone)
My idea was to reinstall xRecovery with Flashtool and restore from my backup, but I can't seem to be able to get to xRecovery to install or to work for that matter. Apparently this phone is more complicated to toy around than my Xperia X8 and I screwed up this time around
Any ideas?
after you flash FXP tft files, you only able to get to CWM recovery. but since you already unlocked bootloader, go flash Doomlord boot manager, you will get both CWM and xRecovery back. you can use xRec there. cheers
could you link me to the files you're referring to? I can't make heads or tails of exactly which I need. I saw some supposed Kernel Files from DoomLord, but they were .zip.
Do you think flashing the X10a Generic Firmware with Flashtool would work?

As I understand it, it's a kernel, baseband, and OS all in one?

[Q] Bricked x10 HELP!

Hello guys,
as a last resort I turn to you for help. Have been searching for the answer for the last 2 days. I am running CWM-based Recovery v.6.0.1.1 and have a rooted x10 together with an unlocked bootloader. I flashed the recovery without any problems and installed miui v4 but an older file which was very unstable (without any problems). Then I decided to install the newer version so i downloaded it, placed it on my sdcard and in the same recovery flashed rom. Unfortunately I had my usb cable plugged in all the time (during installation). Installation got stuck in the middle and nothing could be done so i removed the battery and started the phone again (this time without the usb cable). When I tried to reinstall that rom again it gave me status 7 error installation aborted, assert failed:getprop, error in sdcard and things like that. So I tried the ROM which had already worked on my phone but received exactly the same message. What is more usb storage mounting in the recovery doesnt work anymore (but it already worked!). Now the problem is that I don't have any system installed and when i try to flash the recovery again, flashtool does not recognize my phone (so does windows) and so it leads me nowhere. I think this is definitely problem with the recovery, after the failed attempt to install rom when i had to remove the battery it does not behave normally. Is there any way that I can maybe install another recovery from .zip - i do not even know whether it will install or just sends me another error. Any help would be greatly appreciated

When I want to flash .tft file and i go to flash mode it does not recognize my phone in windows even though I have installed all the necessary drivers. It starts to flash but then says flashing aborted (this did not happen before, i could flash without any problems). Another problem is that i do not have any rom installed right now so i cannot even switch debugging on and if i remember right, i left debugging off in my previous rom.
Use Sony Update Service. Download from Sony site and install on PC. Follow the instruction, and this will reflash Stock Rom and Kernel (GB 2.3.3). Then, with latest Flashtool, first Root phone again, then flash whatever you want (custom kernels, roms..). You don't need to unlock bootloader again. It remains unlocked.

After several tries still in bootloop - HTC One X

Hi Community,
I have a massive problem and I hope you can help me.
I rooted my HTC One X successfully and tried to flash custom roms on it which kind of worked. I put the zip folder on the internat sd card and flashed it without flashing the boot.img.
Finnaly I found out to do that, flashed the boot.img but while installing the ROM the problem code/status 7 appeared and I had to restart the phone in order to put the right rom onto the phone, which i had on my computer.
But while booting, the phone just got stuck in bootloop showing the HTC logo.
I already tried quite a lot of stuff to rescue my phone, for example to restore the nandroid backup - didnt work, flash another backup onto phone - still bootloop, flashed a new rom with boot.img - still bootloop.
The only solution i could find was to unroot the device and flash the stock rom onto it.
Is that really my last resort or is there another way?
Thanks for your help.
I just saw that I posted it in the wrong forum. If a admin could please replace it, i tried to delete it but it didn't work.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

[Q] Xperia P stuck on Sony logo

This is what i did
OK i ve been trying to flash a new custom rom on my Xperia P, i looked at a number of guidelines and doing things step by step.
Since im very new to this i downloaded a few Roms. I was following the guide "http://droidors.com/2014/07/08/update-xperia-p-lt22i-to-android-4-4-4-kitkat-with-slimkat-custom-rom/2/" and everything was going fine. I reached the step to "fastboot flash boot boot.img", i did that and then went on the next step to boot in CWM Recovery and install the zip rom and the Gapps. During the Zip Rom install i got status 7 error.
Now, i noticed that i might have flashed the wrong Rom so rechecked the guide and installed the correct Rom which is mentioned in "http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-u/p-development/rom-slimkat-4-4-2-release-candidate-t2657795" . But now THE PROBLEM IS, AFTER I FLASHED THE INCORRECT IMG, MY PC IS NOT RECOGNISING THE XPERIA P SAYING IT DOESNOT RECOGNISE THE DRIVERS, therefore im not able to copy the ROM Zip on the SDcard, to then run it from CWM.
After I flashed the SlimKat Rom, and things went out of hand ( till this point i could see Slimkat logo at boot and could also go in CWM Recovery ), I tried to restore through Nandroid Backup i had done. As soon i selected the restore option and then the backup file, within 2-3 seconds the phone went off, and then on boot all i can do is see "SONY" on screen. Nothing else happens. i cannot even go in CWM now, its just stuck on "SONY"
I then tried to flash the stock Rom through this link "http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-u/p-development/ftf-firmware-xperia-p-generic-world-t2322163", through flashtool to bring my phone back to life. I installed the drivers as per instructions from drivers folder, but for some reason the pc is just not accepting. I did install the drivers through this exact method yesterday night and it worked perfectly.
I have tried all this on a different machine, different cables and ports, but still the issue persists
Please suggest. I hope im asking at the right place.
Kindly advise, im stuck with no spare phone.
