Work Out ICS FIle Download location - Sony Tablet S

Hi all, thought I would post my findings and see if we can 'crack' this baby.
Thanks to Condi we have this for th US update.
info.update.sony.net/ST002/nbx03_001/contents/0014/signed-nbx03_001-ota-120410004.zip
I would like to try and 'decrypt' this to find my download file for New Zealand (if it is even there lol)

Self explainitory
ST002
From build.prop 'ro.sony.update.category_id=ST002'

From build.prop 'ro.sony.update.service_id=nbx03_001'
or 'ro.sony.sku.base=nbx03_001

Update: This is just a numbered folder - Thanks to quiqsilver for that

This is the hardest bit as put below by quiqsilver

it uses ro.sony.build.incremental instead of ro.build.version.incremental, which makes it a bit harder to guess.

I was thinking possibly the incremental number had something to do with date:
i.e 120410= 10th April 2012????
And the 004 is some kind of version number.
Any thoughts????
Thanks

This is just a numbered folder. Sony typically creates a new one with an incremented value for each update. E.g., 3.2.1 r2 was in 0013, ICS is in 0014. These are not the same for different regions.

The beginning of it could be date related, but that wouldn't work for the 3.2.1 r2 numbers. These values were neighbors in previous versions, so my expectation would be that scanning upwards from 120410000 would find them. E.g.,
3.2.1 r2:
US
ro.sony.build.incremental=111201009
UK wifi
ro.sony.build.incremental=111201017
FR wifi
ro.sony.build.incremental=111201023
HK wifi
ro.sony.build.incremental=111201040
They could put the update anywhere and name it anything. It doesn't necessarily have to follow the schema. The tablet queries http://info.update.sony.net/ST00X/nbx03_0XX/info/info.xml, AES decrypts it, and then uses the contained information to determine what updates are available and where they are located. It would be easy to write some code that would scan all possibilities of file names and paths, but I don't think that they're on the server yet.

Sorry don't understand what you mean here? Could this not also be a date 1st Dec 2011?

Good info here 'thanks.' I have no idea how to write some code to do that. Surely there should be someone here on xda that can... when these are available.
Thanks again

Mea culpa; it is the date. I wasn't around when 3.2.1 r2 came out and I read some bad information about the release date. The 3.2.1 r2 updates were, in fact, built on Thu Dec 1, so your date theory appears to be correct. This also means that they've been testing ICS for at least 2 weeks.
I could write something that will find the updates. However, once ICS is released in the other regions, it's much easier to just intercept the network traffic to see the path to the update.

No worries, so what is the last numbers i.e 004? Release version or something like that. I spose it doesn't matter as the won't be on the server at this point anyway or it would have updated allready??. Would be nice to get a back up once they are there.
I am currently kernel10 so can not gain root and extract that way.

I believe that they simply increment for each build they make. E.g., the first build of the day on April 10, 2012 was 120410001; the second was 120410002, etc.

The update could be on the server while that region shows "no updates" if it wasn't added to info.xml yet. I don't know definitively that they're not there yet; they could very well be sitting there right now.

[DUMP] [Devs] Android 2.4 system dump

I'm basically a G1 user and I know you are still thinking about 2.3 on your phone. This is my small contribution for the community
Here I've got a Nexus One with Pre-released Android 2.4 which you guys are dreaming about.
Here is the system dump from my nexus one of android 2.4

Its not rooted.
I don't take any responsibility if anything happens to your phone.
If you don't know how to use it then please don't download it.
Cheers

The infamous 2.4 that should be out by spring 2011?
unless the actual 2.33 update is indeed 2.4
It's a pre-release build with a lower ID than 2.3.3, so either 2.4 became 2.3.3 or it's still progressing.

To put it simply; this is not for you
it's an old AOSP build with a modified build.prop... there is a lot of error in french translation in it, and there isn't in ASOP since 1 or 2 month
and the maket is the old one.... strange for a new Android version

It's just like the gingerbread we already know, probably this is an old test build since it has an older build number than 2.3.3

That's definitely the biggest gain here.... the majority of the gingerbread code has already been available since December, but lacking all the proprietary crap has been the biggest hurdle thus far.... the current gingerbread ROMs out there are undoubtedly going to have significant gains in stability and hopefully performance from this....
I would be careful though.... there's probably been more than a few changes to things between whenever this dump was made and whenever the official ota was built... so this could potentially lead to more issues....

Detect which ROM is running?

Hey guys, on my TF101 I have a couple different versions of CM10 in my downloads but I can't remember which one I flashed. Is there any way to tell besides the about tablet in system settings? All it tells me there is that it's CM10 and the kernel.

[Q] WTF? Need clarification jeepers007 / Evervolv project

I'd like to tryout the Evervolv ROMs, but quite frankly I don't own the secret decoder ring that deciphers what in the heck is going on in the various threads that jeepers007 has started or the Evervolv website.
Here's what I mean, on the thread titled "[ROM][4.3] Evervolv 3.3.0p1" it clearly states,
"Right now the current source we are working on is Jellybean (Android 4.3.x) Current version: 3.3.0p1"
Click to collapse
then links to the Evervolv site for downloads. However when one gets to the site they find no file(s) by that name, instead they see under "Release Builds" "2012.12.31: Evervolv-Iaceo-3.2.0p1-ruby.zip" followed by "Nightly Builds" with a list of builds spanning from 2013.10.29 - 2013.11.10. Are these nightlies for 3.3.0p1 or for 3.2.0p1?
I believe they're for 3.3.0p1, but then it gets more confusing because as you follow the thread jeepers007 mentions in post #227 dated 10th November 2013:
"Got data fixed for sure this time.
Will be in tomorrow's nightly. The culprit was the HTCQualcommril we were still using. It's been updated for newer devices since ICS 8660 platforms were using it and is no longer completely compatible.
I've tested for the last day and a half - rebooting, toggling airplane mode, and it behaves normally now. As a comparison, I have a HTC One that is my work phone, and the time it takes to acquire data is about the same.
FYI. This is probably the last fix to this ROM before I open the Evervolv Kitkat thread"
Click to collapse
Sounds great, but where is this fixed build? He makes two more posts in the thread the last one on 11th November, 2013,
"Nightly did not come out today. So build in first post under the link to the evervolv nightlies.
Enjoy!"
Click to collapse
This sounds good until you go back to the first post and click on the link directly under the one pointing to the "evervolv nightlies" and find it takes you to download "ev_ruby-3.3.0p1-iaceo_110813_Data.zip" which was uploaded on 11/11/2013. However the name of the zip suggests was compiled on the 8th of November, making it older than the latest that appears on Evervolv's site. WTF? is this the "fixed" build or not? Is this the same as the "2013.11.08: ev_ruby-nightly-2013.11.08.zip" or not?
Further complicating things is it now appears as though this version has been abandoned altogether in favor of developing KitKat on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2524691 started today.
I just want to tryout the latest Evervolv Jellybean build with the data acquisition fix to see if it can be used as a daily driver. Please somebody pull out your decoder ring and point me in the right direction please!
The build you are searching for is indeed the one that was uploaded on 11/11/2013 because it has the fixed data. It is the "11.08 build with fixed data" located in the OP.

Nice job. I'm not even sure what KNOX is yet because I haven't got my tab yet and haven't been in the android scene for a few years.
Also; is there much difference in builds between 600-605 other than network chipset?

Here's a good overview on Knox
The 600-605 are completely different the 600 had the exynos chipset and the 605 has the Snapdragon 800.
So I gotta ask, but are you working on a modified Rom as well? I want to decide if I should get the lte tablet, but I live in Canada so it would be ordered from the states....can't decide if it is worth it, but if the lte will actually work here and there are roms coming out for this one, then ima return my Wi-Fi model and go Snapdragon!
Btw is the wake up lag still there on tis Rom or was that not an issue for the lte device?

So - Knox is basically security based around activesync. Pretty useless for most people then. Glad it looks easy to disable.
I forgot the wifi and lte models had different processors. Will have to look into this a bit.

Thank you OP. The MJ6 build feels a bit faster than MJ9.
Damn this is a silent thread! Is no one using this? Thats a shame, because I think MJ6 firmware made a big difference in speed and smoothnes. Thank you OP
Great Work,
i mentioned an issure. I cant download the sketchbook apk. I think its because of the "custom system status". Maybe u can implement the apk in a former release.
