Detect which ROM is running? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, on my TF101 I have a couple different versions of CM10 in my downloads but I can't remember which one I flashed. Is there any way to tell besides the about tablet in system settings? All it tells me there is that it's CM10 and the kernel.

The build date or the build number doesn't help you? (found on About tablet)

Yeah I've since looked at that and think I've figured it out. But I guess there's nothing else?

I'm basically a G1 user and I know you are still thinking about 2.3 on your phone. This is my small contribution for the community

I don't take any responsibility if anything happens to your phone.
If you don't know how to use it then please don't download it.
Cheers
Can you provide a mirror? I can't load the file from mediafire somehow.

The infamous 2.4 that should be out by spring 2011?
unless the actual 2.33 update is indeed 2.4
It's a pre-release build with a lower ID than 2.3.3, so either 2.4 became 2.3.3 or it's still progressing.

To put it simply; this is not for you
it's an old AOSP build with a modified build.prop... there is a lot of error in french translation in it, and there isn't in ASOP since 1 or 2 month
and the maket is the old one.... strange for a new Android version

It's just like the gingerbread we already know, probably this is an old test build since it has an older build number than 2.3.3

That's definitely the biggest gain here.... the majority of the gingerbread code has already been available since December, but lacking all the proprietary crap has been the biggest hurdle thus far.... the current gingerbread ROMs out there are undoubtedly going to have significant gains in stability and hopefully performance from this....
I would be careful though.... there's probably been more than a few changes to things between whenever this dump was made and whenever the official ota was built... so this could potentially lead to more issues....

[Q] Nook Tablet Paranoid Android?

I was wondering if anyone has tried to compile Paranoid Android with the latest CM changes that chrmhoffmann and the team working with him have done?
i'd be interested to see how it would turn out, with one of the nice features of paranoid android being its toggle - tablet mode etc.
any thoughts?
The only version of ParanoidAndroid for the NT that I am aware of is the one posted here.

Ok, thanks! little older than i'd like, but i'll see how it goes.
I'd advise you to remove the recovery.img inside the zip before flashing it. If you flash it with it, you will end up with TWRP.
Just a heads up

There are differences in package structure, minimum SDK version, API's and others factors that are preventing the package form being installed, just to clarify I assume you are trying to install Android 4.0+ apk's on an Android 2.3 or below device.

Did you compile the ROM form source or just port another ROM? Which version of Android did you use to compile with or as a base to port your ROM? Simply changing the build.prop information Android version doesn't change the version of Android your ROM is based on.

I apologize for the delay in responding if you compiled it form 2.3.6 source then that's what it will be based on you would have to compile it form 4.2.2 source if that's the version of Android you want your device to run on.

If you want to properly compile Android 4.2.2 I would recommend taking a look at this guide on compiling Jelly Bean from source. If there is something else you need me to explain please let me know.

Your issue is that just changing the number in the build prop will not give android 4.2.2. This is something cheap knock devices due to fool people. You will have to compile a rom from source. If there is any for that device but as 2.3 was never officially released I'm betting you won't find any kernel source updated for the device.

So it should be. This version of Flounder.
Later, I will correct the name of the archive to separate versions.
Was there a separate thread ever created for feedback/user experience? Can't seem to find anything, but would love to read some opinions & actual user experience.
The February patch on board. Also special version without support LTE modem( no_mdm ).

do i need to change rom if yes then which one is confirmed to be working

I believe that all those who are flashing custom ROM on the nexus should know about this.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-9/development/fix-build-prop-variety-fix-aka-contact-t3133347
In this case, my kernel has nothing to do with this problem.
