My Nook has been around a lot with new OS's. I've always had some problem with CM7 10.1 ... Finally I tried Succulent's 10.0 dated 12/31 and I have a very well behaved Nook. No WiFi problems. No more problems with battery drain. I'm DONE. Thanks to the developers
Yep! I still keep the Tablets in trhe Family on Succulents 1231 CM10 build. Super stable! I see no reason to "upgrade". I like to experiment so I' have tried other builds, but none of them give me anything I want that isn't in this "old" build.
I am filled with admiration for all the developers though. They do such amazing work! :good:

I've only found one problem with this build. Sometimes I will be in the middle of working and my tablet will shutdown and reboot. It's not a full reboot though? I've also had WIFI dropping but this can be fixed by taking a WIFI lock in the command program
I haven't had one single unwanted reboot in the year I've had it installed. Go figure! Can't say I've noticed any wifi problems either, but then wifi here is not as reliable as I'd want so maybe I just took for granted it was the wifi in the house acting up when it may have been the Tablet.

I had one "spontaneous reboot" incident in all the 10 months on Succulent's 10.0 12/31 builds, compared a few incidents a month with 10.1 and 10.2. No WiFi issue whatsoever.
FWIW I am running CM11 M2 snapshot at the moment, it's not bug free but its performance is surprisingly quite snappy.

Just use recovery to back up your current CM10.0 before flashing CM11, that way you can revert back to CM10.0 if need be without any sweat.
To flash CM11, you'll need to use CWM 6.0.4.5 (or TWRP 2.6.3.1) or later version; see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49024436&postcount=105 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49111924&postcount=8 on how to create flashable recovery zip to update recovery in emmc.
Be aware that CM11 sometimes randomly fails to boot (or reboot), see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49082178&postcount=131, so don't panic and give up if it fails to boot first time after installation.
I flashe CM11 and it seem to run great. Only problem is ... I can't load a lot of my application from the Play Store. When I try to install I get this error message. "my device isn't compatible". Some will install and others won't?
Went back to 10.0 CM11 has that awful low battery poltergeist thing. Get down to 20n percent battery and the ghost takes over. 10.0 doesnt do this

i would also like to endorse this build for a few reasons:
1. super snappy, UI is smoother than 4.2 JB and kitkat
2. the old tablet UI is in this ROM and it's really easy to enable and configure, which is awesome because the old tablet UI is amazing
3. yeah no wifi problems, battery life is pretty solid too from what i've seen.
on cm10.1.3 official, i was getting FC's of the process "com.android.media" on boot. doesn't happen here, i don't think it happened on kitkat either. if you want a really stable tab, flash this build.
Looks like I am taking the wifes Nook back and checking this out!
After having a ton of stability issues and horrible battery life I tried going from CM11 back to this build. Problem is I am getting an error trying to flash it. Do I need to revert back to an earlier CWM to flash CM10?

You need to use earlier version of CWM, e.g., 6.0.3.x or 6.0.2.x.
(Alternatively you can replace the update-binary file (in the folder \META-INF\com\google\android\) in the CM10 ROM zip file with its new corresponding version in the CM11 ROM zip file).
good release version?
I'm running this 12/31 build of succulent's and it is indeed quite stable. I noted it is a debug build. I'd assume a release build would be a little quicker & smaller. Is there a release build equivalent to this package? thx!
Main thread: OpenPDroid patches for CyanogenMod 11
WARNING: OpenPDroid is not compatible with ART for now. disable ART before flashing. enabling ART will cause the device to fail to boot. if you enabled ART and are unable to boot, flash official CyanogenMod temporarily to be able to fix (will cause privacy leaks). or if you have ADB access in android or recovery, you can disable ART by using setprop or editing a file.
these are i9100 builds of CyanogenMod 11 patched with OpenPDroid. find them here.
update: releases will now be distributed as overlays to the official CyanogenMod snapshots. first flash the official "M" snapshot corresponding to the OpenPDroid overlay you want to flash, then flash the overlay.
update: i have published an OpenPDroid overlay for the i9100 build of CM 10.1.3 here (made with old Auto-Patcher).
update: device-specific builds are being phased out in favor of the generic overlays. please refer to this post.
note: OpenPDroid does not affect the recovery nor the kernel, you can use whatever you want.
CM11-M6 broke OpenPDroid patches, so i forked OpenPDroid to restore compatibility, fix several bugs and clean up the code. sources are here.

ok thank you. i dont have an i9100 so i can't test. that's why this rom is not in ALPHA but TESTING stage. i pulled the blobs from a non-local friend's phone over VPN and built. but i am running the hammerhead version and it works just fine (and so does openpdroid). i don't know why it may not be working. maybe that CM's nightly is bad. maybe there's something bad with my building (i strongly suppose nothing's wrong with openpdroid). maybe you didn't wipe or the download was busted. (there is *no* need to wipe coming from CM11.) if someone else confirms i will sync and rebuild and maybe build without patching to see if the output works. thank you!

crap!!! can you please describe in more detail?
i don't have an i9100, so i havent tested this build.
EDIT: i had a friend with an i9100 remotely connect to to my VPN, then had him enable root adb over net, then i picked the blobs from his phone with the standard script. there were no errors reported. maybe something went wrong???
2ND EDIT:
i think i know what can have gone wrong. he's running CM but infected's CM10.2 modded build. maybe i need to pick the blobs from someone running standard CM11.
does anybody running "stock" CM11 want to help? i'd need brief remote adb access. i think root is required to pick the blobs, but not sure.
Hello everyone, after a great success on building roms for bacon device. I've decided to share my work with other devices. So now I share with hammerhead. After positive feedback on the rom today I'll publish here the rom.
Kernel and Device tree are untouched so everything should be working smoothly. You can use a custom kernel in case you like, but i'll only give support to stock kernel as I do not yet own an device. So CM bugs are basically also our bugs, and from what I know there is none. Still I'm open to suggestions.

Hey guys, I have no idea what I'm doing, so I'm wondering if anyone else has compiled a flashable Aosp or near-aosp build of android 7.0? I'm currently on PureNexus, and I'm looking for a very minimal ROM as it's the only way to reduce the lag on this low memory device we all know and love (hate?). Thanks!

I'm 100% with you on this. Minimum is best. I was wondering where the homecooked 7.0s are too.
Way too soon for a stable aosp build.
You'll probably see a flashable, pre-rooted stock rom appear first. Often these are tweaked, debloated etc so can be quite minimal.
Experimental aosp builds will likely emerge soon too but if you're the type to moan about roms not appearing fast enough and the low memory of a device you bought then you likely won't like bugs either. Maybe wait for a bit.
I wanna post mine - but GApps FC (some location provider error) and I am looking for a fix. This commit didn't fix it and I thought it might!

Ok finally got some time to play ---- fastboot is my friend LOL!!!
I used fastboot to wipe and start over w/ a clean tab -----> Only way I get root with my rom at current build is using twrp ---> flash my rom w/ stock boot image, flash supersu sr1 2.78 ---> bootup got root. That's all I can find that works. @USBhost Do you have an N k that allows root??? Do you have any idea what is going on with this??? BTW --- Trying to install as system install causes bootloop for me. So the only option I have at the moment is supply stock boot image and systemless root and w/ the rom. PITA

I couldn't find his threads on xda though
This isn't my build, however I do have a CM14.1 build which works with my Nexus 9, no visible bugs. This is built unmodified from CM source, apart from removing forceencrypt. I would post on the Dev section, but my post count is too low. If there's enough interest, I'll upload it and do twice weekly builds?
Edit:
So if anyone wants a test drive, try https://harryyoud.co.uk/cyanogenmod/ which has a build from yesterday
BE AWARE: forceencrypt is enabled by default here, so if you don't want encryption flash ElementalX or another custom kernel (or maybe FED)
