[Q] Slow charge 450mA max - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I need help,
For some time, the charge of my Galaxy s2 is very slow (nearly 5 hours to charge from 4% to 100% without using the phone).
I use Siyah kernel on WanamLite ROM and Current widget in order to know how much current the device is receiving from the charger. In Extweaks I use 650mA for AC and misc and 450mA for USB.
With two different 0,7A charger and my car adaptator (1A), it shows that the current is around 450mA whereas I should have 650mA (few month ago I had 650mA). I tried Battery Monitor, it shows the same results and it says that the battery is good.
Is there someone who’s got an idea ? Is it the battery ? Do I need to change the flex cable with charge port ?
Edit : No battery problem or charge port

[Q] clarification about USB vs AC charging: battery life

i'm reading different opinions about this when i searched through the xda forums and on google.
i'm using the same custom rom and kernel for about a week now. a few days ago, i charged purely on wall socket. left overnight, my battery lost only 2%.
last night, i charged my phone when it was about 30%. i charged using usb up to 85%, then i finished it off on AC up to a 100%. my overnight loss went up to 5% (i did not install any additional apk, or change my setcpu profiles, etc).
there are no topics on this, specifically for SGS2. mostly are from HTC threads.
from what i learned, usb's only pour out about half of what AC's can give (500 mah vs 1,000 mah). does that translate into a poorer batt life?
How you charge your phone, usb vs AC will not effect the battery life, 100% is 100%, it will just charge slower via usb.

I have noticed something similar with my captivate.I would guess that when you use the wall charger with 1amp the battery gets more of a charge than when you use a usb charger at .5amps. 1amp can cause more chemical change in the battery than half an amp.

SGS2 will only let 650mA into the battery, AFAIK it's hardware restricted to do this. Wall charger will charge faster, but only slightly.
I see no difference and 2% to 5% is within a tolerable variation of overnight drain .
Its all the same electricity .

Firmware, actually, and the phone determines how much it will draw based on the resistance between the two USB data pins. If the resistance is < 200 ohms, it assumes it's plugged into an AC charger, and will draw up to 650 mA. Otherwise, it assumes it's plugged into a PC's USB 2.0 port, and will draw up to 450 mA, just under the 500 mA that a USB 2.0 port is supposed to provide, per the USB 2.0 spec.
Since it's firmware, it should be possible to change the current draw by re-compiling the kernel sources with new values. Note that you don't want to go too high on the charging current, as that could cause overheating or fire.

And how about charging a spare battery using a separate battery charger?
I have two batteries and I never charge them plugging the phone, just using a spare battery charger. Does it have any negative effect on the batteries' lifespan?
dont know what happened but my phone is being charged with ac adapter as same speed as usb.(more than 4 hours) :S
I have a USB charger capable of delivering 1A.
Even with the data pins shorted (phone side), it still seems to draw only 350 mA :-(
Any ideas?
Known made-up cables that do work?

[Q] How to make wall charger charge as AC instead of USB

I bought this wall charger from Amazon and when I charge my phone with it, it shows up as charging via USB instead of AC which means it'll be pulling 450 mA instead of 650 mA. Is there any way to make it detect the wall charger properly?
Voltage is controlled mainly by charger, not phone, so I think your phone charges with 600 mA.
But if you charge with lower voltage, your battery will live longer.
I believe you have to short the middle two data leads.

The only way to do that is by increasing USB charging current to 650mA.
Swyped from my Samsung Galaxy SII
LoL ! I have official wall charger which i got with my Galaxy s2 and my phone detect it as USB btw it happens on a custom rom that i am using.
I used ex tweak app from play store ( Works only with siyah kernal) and set usb to 650 mAh
Like I said, short the two data points.

[Q] can charging » S4 charger or any charger?

I need to charge my hox+ (charging time 3 hr) with any rapid charger
Galaxy S4 charger» Output: 5V»2A
Htc charger» Output: 5V»1A
Can i charge with S4 charger or any rapid charger(high A) or there is a risk?
I need most rapidly mod for charging if there?

The higher mA the faster the battery is charged. However this is not recommended due to the battery life will be affected as well.
In addition :
Your phone would get hotter, and this may damage your mainboard.
Long term usage will affect battery life span .
EDIT: If you have one of those chargers , try charging with it. If your phone gets hot, unplug it as it can damage your device.
Normally, the device (phone) regulates the current while you charge the battery. 5V/1A only says that the charger can supply a maximum of 1A.

Help with NEWLY INSTALLED redmi note 3 battery!

hello,
over the last year the battery on my kenzo device has been performing poorly over time, to the point where the battery doesnt charge past 60% and that charge doesnt last more than 2 - 3 hourse of use!
also over the last year (phone was bought on october 2016) the included charger and usb cable stopped working altogether! so now im charging with an old samsung 1A wall charger and samsung usb cable.
so i finnally installed a new battery, its an official xiaomi 4000mah battery (bm46 just like the one that comes with the phone) and while battery life is much improved and standby times are much improved, the battery also doesnt charge past 70 - 75%,
could this be because of the usb wall charger and the cable?
im guessing i need a 5V - 2A charger ? could a quick charge 3.0 charger work?
also, i have a custom rom installed (aim_rom) and any oreo or nougat rom i install show the little ray on the battery icon like when its charging even when its not charging! any thoughts? thanks.
DONT USE QC 3.0 IT WILL DESTROY YOUR PHONE. Our Phone doesnt support QC 3.0
where did you buy the battery? i'm looking for a new one

I would like to know too, thanks.

Slow charging issue.

I am posting here for first time. This issue was present when I got this device then one day I flashed ancient os rom and elinder kernel . Surprisingly my device started charging fast full in about 2 hours. After that I changed the rom to colt os 6.0 without elinder kernel. Same full charge in 2 hours . After few random reboots and about a weeks usage I decide to install evolution X for which I took the usb out of the charger and put it in my laptop to transfer the file. After flashing I put it back in the charger and checked charging current it was around 300-400ma about 4% charge in 10 mins. I restored my backup but no avail. Then I flashed havoc os 3.5 I get 4%/10 mins but after I install ancient os I get around 32%/ hour . If please anyone would help me it would mean a lot thanks . And I really hate 4 hours charging time.
I'm aslo stucked:highfive:
Try charging with original charger and USB cable, if you are already charging with original one try with different USB and charger.
See if there is any lint or dust in charging port or USB cable that may also slow downs the charging.
Try flashing elinder kernel again.
Clean flash again (do backup everything)
And lastly it might be related to battery since device is already 4 years old(not sure about your device's age). lithium ion battery does degrade over time so that might be causing slow charging.
sometime i do also get slow charging but thats related to USB cable in my case, i need to adjust USB in specific direction to charge fast. but weird thing is i use same USB and charger in other devices and it charges with good speed without any USB adjustments.
Fix
If any one is wondering if i fixed the issue yes i did seems that if i use a 9v 1.5a charger the phone charges to 90% in 1 hour 40 min on ancient os 3.5. using any other charger delivers only about 800ma and my phone charges in 3 hours. I have also tried samsung a71 28 watt charger but the phones does not charge even 1% in 5 minutes using that charger.

Kenzo is strictly made for 5V 2A charging. If u keep on using high volt charger then u will blow diode on charging board and will stop charging.
