I flashed the new pkmn rom
I tried to change the volume steps
it rebooted but wont get past the splash screen and cant get into recovery
im on eng hboot 2.21
s-off
nevermind flashed a different recovery and i could access it
Btw to manually get into recovery:
Pull battery, put back in, hold volume down plus power.
From hboot select recovery

Hi,
I have a rooted GSM hero with CM6 installed.
I've flashed cwm via rom manager and can boot into it fine from manager. However I can't boot into cwm recovery by powering off and holding down the volume key. If I do so the HTC screen quickly lists a few file sthat are missing (such as herodiag.zip) and goes to a hboot screen. I've tried reflashing cwm in rom manager after fixing permissions and that hasn't solved my problem.
I'm not sure if the fact my device is still s-on is the problem here. If so how do I get the hero to an s-off state?
Any advice appreciated!

A week after revolutionary s-off and then root flash, phone will only boot into h-boot. Any option from h-bot gets stuck at splash screen. So I am unable to revert to a Nandroid.
Help please?
Edit: I can't get anything to go. I successfully flashed cwm in hboot, and i still can't get it to boot into recovery.
Edit 2: flashed the latest ruu in hboot. still stuck at splash
Edit 3: finally got it to boot after over half an hour at the splash screen. but touchscreen or hardkeys aren't working and phone wouldn't accept a charge.
I have evo 3d, rooted, s-off, 1.40. Ran perfect for last 8 months using many different ROMs. Suddenly started boot looping - no boot to ROM, no recovery, only HBOOT. Took out sdcard & able to boot again-ran fine for 1 week. Put sdcard back in and then boot loop restarted. Took out sdcard but will only boot loop - tried many times: battery out, in, Power-vol, HBOOT menu, no go. I can get to HBOOT & FASTBOOT USB & have flashed new recover images (TWRP 1 & 2) & booted boot.img from ROM but still boot loops and still cannot get to recovery. Any ideas?
Sounds like you gotta run the 2.17 ruu and stock it so you can take it in

Take the SD out and try to boot into fastboot. Also make sure your phone has a full charge or as close to full as possible. Sounds like your SD maybe the culprit. If you have a spare around use it and see if your bootloops still remains.

Try CWM 4.0 should do the trick for a recovery.. Then wipe and flash.. Unless your SD card is spanked but I doubt it...
I installed amon ra and flashed to a different rom, but it did not work and i'm stuck on the htc splash screen, i want to go back to stock but i'm not sure how!!!
Download a stock RUU on your computer, then transfer it to your phone's memory card by using a micro card reader. Then boot up phone by holding down the volume down and power button. Let the stock RUU flash your phone
So I bought a Thunderbolt off eBay. Seller said it just had a cracked screen. Replaced that and come to find it's in a boot loop. It won't boot into the ROM or into Recovery. No big deal..
I go into hboot, unlock the bootloader, great.
Now, however, I am trying to install a recovery, and it won't even boot into recovery, just shows the splash image and then reboots into a loop. I've tried installing, CWM (touch and non), amon-ra, and one other one, all with the same results.
I tried flashing the latest ruu to get back to step 1, but I get the message that the mainver is older than currently installed and it won't let me install the ruu.
Any ideas?
