Post your wallpapers! - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Okay, so The SuperAMOLED screen has some of the best black levels out of any display Iv'e ever seen. as nice as it would be to have PLUS, for the IPS subpixel layout, I still love this screen's display. The Note 2 will probably have this, and even better options..
But. I would love if some of you can post home screens and wallpaper images at full resolution that went with it, to show off how nice they look on the screen. Iv'e always had trouble finding amazing wallpapers :3
But yeah, I have an S-IPS $700 monitor as my main monitor at home, and even though the colors are off on the Note's screen, the black levels pretty much make up for it. This 5.3 inch screen has better detail and picture quality than my 55" Big screen TV does! :O (not better color accuracy though) Only because it's a triple LCD rear projection TV, which has WAY better colors than pretty much ANY "LED TV"
Until SuperAMOLED Plus comes out in TV's, No "LED TV" will EVER have color accuracy that Rivals my monitor, so Don't flame on that. LED TV's are a complete lie and a scam because they are garbage Twisted nematic LCD panels that are just LED backlit, when cathodes can actually be brighter ironically.
Unless they start using high intensity LED's with pure white light, I don't see LED bqaclighting being better, but yeah, post some wallpapers?

I have 900 wallpapers. Will add once in whlie.
SENT FROM ICS OBJECTION

That wallpaper looks awesome! If I didn't have ICS Tablet mode I'd use it. Just looks odd with all the blue menusand text :3 but if I had touchwiz, I'd use it
Greens are particularly vibrant on our screen because the subpixel arrangements is red, green, blue, green instead of red, green, blue, albiet the sub pixel size of green is half that of the others.
Feel free to upload those wallpapers any time

Screen color temps between units

Here's a side-by-side of two ATT GS2s on auto brightness showing the same application. The one on the left has a bluish/greenish tinge to the display, while the one on the right looks...I dunno...pinkish? Almost dirty by comparison, at least to my eyes, as it's much harder to read in low light settings. I thought at first it was the Helvetica vs stock font, but it's clearly the panel's lighting characteristics.

Here are the same phones again running the 'dead pixel test' from the Market, set to max brightness on the white screen color test.
The one on the right doesn't seem to be able to produce a true white.
Now, I get that there are different screen suppliers, and manufacturing variances among panel batches, but this whole thing has me a little disappointed at Samsung's QC. I would love to know what qualifies as a successful screen test, because the one on the right is a huge disappointment to my eyes. Just for the hell of it I compared both screens to my old Captivate, and to my surprise that had the most accurate color reproduction of the three.
How bout you guys - true whites on your screen? (try the gmail app, for example) Maybe I just got a bad batch?
The screen on my SGS2 has no colot tinge whatsoever. It's white and bright. I did however notice a bluish tint on my Infuse; which drove me crazy. I actually exchanged 3 Infuses because of a flaw in market where I got the "unable to download, insufficient memory on device". Each Infuse had a different tint, or brightness to the display. I switched to thw SGS2 and haven't looked back since.

Wow... big difference.... what the hell...
I thought this too about my SGSII when comparing it side-by-side with store units... Turned out for me the brightness was the same but another setting (adjust screen to save battery or something like that) was checked on my phone, making the screen look like crap on some colors, including making white look gray and yellow look bluish. Once I uchecked that box the display looked fine.
yeah I am anal about colors too. Being a photographer.
So I was looking for ways to improve the displays on my SGS2(now returned).
I have a Gretag i1-Pro spectrophotometer that I use for calibration and also matching color swatches. So I 'calibrated' my screen to the best of the available software. There is a program call 'Screen Adjuster' you guys can use to alter the RGB values. However gama will be off, and you can only calibrate EITHER high bias RGB or low bias RGB. There is no way to calibrate both.
Have you tried Supercurio screen tune? He just started making it but can probably help you out with colors and such.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1313652
QC and screen temperature were both big issues with the ISGS2 when it launched. There's a 100 page thread that's been talking about it since May. Five ISGS2's side-by-side all had from slight to wild differences in color temperature. Some of the ROMs also alter color temperature which makes it even more confusing. Cool/blue is what's intended to be normal and warm/yellow is the exception. The phone on the right in the pic looks like it has a warmer screen. I'd guess they changed either the screen or manufacturing process for the ASGS2 or you guys would have been freaking out by now.
P.S. - Samsung manufactures all their own displays and they all come from the same factories. So if there are differences it's QC or allowable deviation.

[Q] Black Fragmentation color on display - is it just mine?

So I am seeing some color issues with my SII
Not sure if it's just the way it is (because I am coming from the LG G2x which had the most amazing display you can ever imagine), or is it just my phone.
The funny thing is that even though I am attaching a screnshot, obviously YOU will not be able to see the issue (since of course, the pic itself is fine, and it is the display that makes it wavey...)
I am not even sure I am explaining myself the right way.
Wavy colorts, uneaven, almost cartoonish-like, smeary.
It is most apparent with darker shades
(U can't see it here)

Samsung's Super AMOLED Plus displays exaggerate colors and shades, and that is it's key feature. Not sure about your phone, but if you think something's wrong with your phone, go check with your service provider.

Thank you!!!
Found some info here, i wonder if mine is one of these....

I hope more members will have something to say, perhaps they have experienced this as well.
I was also thinking whether this can (hopefully) be a kernel issue or color calibration issue? I know that some kernels has effect on the colors, but I am out of my field here and completely wrong
The weird thing is that light colors are perfect. When GRAY or BLACK, it just looks bad.

I've got something similar to that.
It's not noticeable in a well lit environment but if I'm in a dark room and have a black screen on my sgs2, some blotches seem darker than the rest of the screen.
I wouldn't be too bothered about this if it was just one or two but there's one large one and a bunch of smaller ones scattered around the screen.
Thanks!
I wish I could upload a photo to show it, but (funny enough), my only camera is my phone's camera (a single student - what r u gonna do?!)
This is especially noticeable when I take a picture or when I use the Music app (pictured above), where there is huge smears of color going from the dark to the lighter.
I hate to even imagine it, but I think I will have to depart from my SII if this is something that isn't fixable. If no one else experience this, I will get a new SII
(i don't know anyone that has the SII so I have no one to compare it to)
Managed to take some pics
Hope U can see it:
Look at the bottom discoloration:
All menus with shades of grey and black present this issue (kernel problem maybe?)

Request: ICS Rom + Theme with Black and Brown/Gold mixture

Hi guys, was wondering if anyone can make a Rom with ICS (with all the tweaks and goodies) and have a Black/Brown/Gold theme to it? I attached a picture off an iphone when you invert the colors, you get that color scheme and it looks nice. Also anyway for someone to make it so that for example if you have a wallpaper widget on your desktop, it could have like a live video clip playing on the widget in the backround as if it were a small sample clip of the latest video or pics? would be neat.

A few things...
It does look pretty good.
With LCD screens, blacks are the most battery hungry to display, so dark themes affect battery life to some extent.
Last... not to sound like a jerk... but this is a question/request. I am not sure it is best asked in development section.
oh sorry, i didnt know where else to ask developers if they could make this lol. For me the battery isnt that big a concern, never has been really lol. I use the web a lot throughout the day and ive never had any problems running low by end of day on my rezound, even if so, i would just recharge it love that black and brown with gold, hoping someone will make it

I understood the opposite to be true. That the pixel is turned off with black, anything else required power.
And yes this could be moved to the theme and apps sub forum, no biggie though.

Doing a little research here. It isn't obvious what the right answer is.
Display type may make a difference.

On any form of led screen (oled, amoled, samoled, samoled+, etc) blacks use less battery. Not sure about lcd though. And gold would really clash with the phone's hardware. It's black and red with silver accents. We an aosp black and red theme to make our phones sexy.
On these types of screens (LCD), black requires the most power because the pixel isn't actually off, its obscurring the light from the backlight, which requires more energy than displaying white. Only on old CRT type displays was black actually equal to 'off' and thus used less power. I think LED displays require no back lighting, so the same is probably true.
**oops read LCD not led, my bad

Black Spots on dark screen

is it common or I have to request for repair?

Mine looks the same. I would say it's normal and no point in banging your head about it because it is only visible in very dark scenario on only black screen. Who uses there phone to look at black color in dark room? Nobody normal.
It's the way AMOLED screens work.
I must say, compared to how the screen of my I9100 looked after a few months use the I9300 seems a bit better with this kind of problem.
The screen of the I9100 looked like someone had poured black ink all over the screen, even on darker backgrounds, not just black.
A few dots here and there on the I9300 doesn't bother me.
The only time I see them are when I'm looking att NSFW content in bed at night and the wife rolls over att looks att the screen and i have too quickly change app
My old GT-I9100 which my wife uses bow has the same issue and so does my current phone.
I believe thos is normal, since all phones I've seen with amoled screen have the same issue.
And in my case it doesn't bother me, since I don't watch movies with lots of dark scenes in night.
Sent from my GT-I9300
Yes it's common and it's one of the several downsides of the Amoled screen. This phone would be close to perfect if it had the screen from the one x.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Have the same on my phone.
Yes i have the same problem on my s3.
but here's what i don't get, why is the screen not black all over. shouldn't all the pixels be turned off when displaying a black screen?
And it's certainly not an amoled issue, because my sgs1 does not have this problem. at least it is not visible because when the sgs1 displays a black screen the screen is much more black then the s3 or the s2 I had before.
Is the new amoled screens just cheaper produced?
just shot a photo (of bad quality) to prove my point:
(Both the s1 and the s3 displays the same black picture with screen brightness = 100% And the s1 is actually so dark that it is hard to see it.
wierd
i have the same problem too.. but does not have any problem with it..

S9 screen with red or pink tint?

Does anyone else see reddish or pink on their screen? I see it when I tilt the screen. I noticed it a few days ago on my S9+ and now can't unsee it. Straight on it looks OK but at an angle the screen looks pink, like when scrolling through GMail or web page when my phone is on a table at an angle to me. Not sure if I should exchange and risk getting other issues. Otherwise my device has been fine. I went to the AT&T store near me to compare their display models and mine shows some pink compared to the store.

Mine show slight blue tint when tilted
The left one has a slight green tint. No AMOLED is going to be 100% perfect. Actually I think you have one of the better panels. It looks brighter and the white looks thicker compared to the display model.
Based on the number of screwy AMOLED panels I've seen, that one would probably be OK to me. My panel is yellower along the top quarter and I also consider that a keeper you can do so much worse in my opinion. In ten years they may finally nail the technology till then it's lottery.
Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Mine also turns a little pink if angled... i can't remember if my previous S8 also did so...
Mine turns ever so slightly blue when tilted. It's MUCH better then my Note 8 was, which turned pink at even the slightest angle.
Try factory reset, when I got mine and turned it on I saw from the boot animation that the display was white. When it finished booting it looked like it was stuck with the blue filter on. I factory reset and the display has been normal since
This can be adjusted, at least this is what I did on my S8. Go to settings, Display, Screen mode and fine tune it there.
So my wife and I each have a US T-Mobile model. Her's definitely has the pink screen issue. Duplicating the settings between the phones and the issue persists. I will be contacting T-Mobile for an exchange.
FYI - wound up not being a hardware issue for our phones. I found out that the native Android Night Light setting transfers between phones. Was able to delete, and use Samsung blue light filter settings, using Nova and the instructions here.
https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS9/comments/85blz5/psa_night_light_and_blue_light_filter_overlap/
anyone else experiencing this on their s9+? when i tilt my device, right before the blue shift, i can se a pink/reddish hue go across the display. do you have the same thing? should i be worried? it's kind of annoying, every slight tilt and i can notice it.
I think now that I checked it seems like mine also has a very slight pink touch on it... But i dont really care and I haven't really ever noticed it.
I use black everywhere possible. Dark theme, dark wallpaper, KIWI browser with AMOLED dark turned on, so this way I save my battery, i save my screen, and black is way better on the eye
