Hi, i had a working MMS and GPRS settings on my MT15, today i just found out that the APNs settings are not there..!!
i downloaded them from Settings>Sony Ericsson>Internet Setting they downloaded successfully though i had to edit them .. (dunno but they always dload incomplete and i have to put extra values) after that they were gone
then i try to enter manually.. on each step .. the setting were saving .. but then, when i enter the MCC of my country the whole settings disappears....
the default MCC is 310, mine is 410.. meanwhile if i leave the default value of MCC as it is and try to change to MNC the issue happen agains
i m on Stock roms 2.3.4; 0.42 build
i have been searching about this issue.. but this was found to be CM7..
i also try using restore default but APN list is still empty
i also wiped the dialer data from titanium and reboot; try again.. but no luck
also install APN Backup Restore app.. and no luck
PS: and if you still think that this thread is a duplicate or issue has been asked .. then just giv me the solution link.. do not whin about it
another thing i want to add.. wiping dialer data.. also wiped out my all SMSs

what i have done .. is to create a backup using APN Backup & Restore, the XML file was created in SDCard.. I then put the required settings of my operators for Telenor Pakistan and restore it using the same app
The XML code for Telenor Pakistan APN settings
Code:
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8' standalone='yes' ?>

I just finished flashing my At&t Xperia X10a over to 2.1 and I must say it does move a lot quicker now.
Big problem, however, is that I cannot get it to re connect to the network. When I boot up the phone it will tell me to choose the language. When I select English(United States) it then pops up with "Please insert SIM card and restart your phone."
I can hit Cancel and get into the phone and still use everything. Wifi works and all the apps are working no problemo. I just cannot connect to the cellular network at all.
Steps I've taken so far are to go into the settings to Mobile Networks and go to network operators. When you enter, it Searches for mobile networks and locates At&t (and while i'm writing this, for the first time T-Mobile as well -not important). When I Select At&t it says "Registering on At&t" then it fails saying "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network."
I know the SIM card works cause I have another phone that i've put it into without any issue. Conversely I've taken my iPhone 3gs SIM and put it into the Xperia just to try to get it to connect and its the same story with the SIM card does not allow a connection to this network.
Have you checked to see if your apn settings are keyed in? If not got to settings/wireless and networks/mobile networks/access point names if theres nothing in there you will need to manually enter your settings for the network. The settings can be found easily by searching at&t apn settings. If your phone cant see your sim though thats a whole nother issue and it might just ne nest to try amd reflash.

Like Cmoney said.. reflash is probably the best and only solution here. Factory reset with SEUS will most likely do the trick
When i flashed from 1.6 to 2.1 i had to manually enter apn settings. Im also on ATT so here are the settings.
First go to settings/wireless and networks/mobile networks/access point names (not network operators) then click the menu button and tap "add apn" then use these settings:
Name: ATT
APN: wap.cingular
Proxy: none
Port: none
Username: [email protected]
Password: none
Server: none
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS Port: 80
MNC: 410
Authentication Type: none
APN Type: default,supl,mms
Just skip the lines that say none and some of those set themselves.
To avoid this in the future use an app called "APN Backup and Restore" to make a backup of your settings before you flash new FWs.

use this.. flash the X10i_2_0_2_A_0_24_GLOBAL ROM using Flashtool (just search the forum a bit) (or x10a, if you got an x10a.. to check, remove your battery, it should be on the label attached to your phone)
If that doesnt work, download Pc Companion from
http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/softwaredownloads/detailed/pccompanion/1.689743/xperiax10?cc=gb&lc=en
here
Connect your phone, and do a factory reset (or what ever its called )

Well I m on Floyo 0.15 and had some issues with MMS sending/receiving.On stock 2.1 SE ROM when you have Mobile Data OFF,our X8s still automatically use GPRS to handle mms messages. On Floyo and other ROMS you need to turn it ON which may result in additional charges from your carrier if you don't use a prepaid internet data plan.
So what do you do in this case you may ask! Well if you only use WIFI for internet and still wanna use MMS you should customize APN Settings.
First google you carrier's APN settings for MMS and set it up manually.Be carefull to not use capital letters on some fields!
Then delete every other APN settings leaving Mobile Data ON all the time and Reboot!
This way you can MMS technology without any fear of additional internet charges. ;-)
APN Settings can be found in WIRELESS ->MOBILE NETWORKS->APN menu in any custom ROM!

APNs for x10mini CELCOM [ROM] MiniCM6-1.0.0-RC2
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I usually send SET to 20999 to get my setting from my service provider(CELCOM)
They will give me a configuration message that i will save to set my APNs automatically.
But after installing ([ROM] MiniCM6-1.0.0-RC2, Froyo Cyanogen 6.1.3), it seems like i cannot receive the configuration message or in other words maybe the custom rom cannot read the configuration message.
Please Help Me With This

Hi!
first of all Sry for my bad english.
I have a Big Problem with the Paranoid Rom and a second Rom (Dragon ICS v3.3.2) i cant send mms/sms or can use the browser because there are no APN
with root explorer i look in system/etc/apns-conf.xml and there are the Apn's for my carrier.
Settings->Dunno->APN->New then create a new APN accourding to your service provider also doesn't work.
So i dont have any idea whats wrong
Hope someone can help me.
Tried to reboot after a flashing rom? Or restore the apn? The problem is on both rom or only at once?
Inviato dal mio GT-I9100 con Tapatalk 2
There is a work around
You have to click on restore to default and then after the process compleates
restart you phone.
This will get back your GPRS conectivity.

Hello.
Had the same problem last night.
Spend the evening restoring my APN config.
After many reboot, recovery/wipe, etc... the fastest seems to backup your appz, wipe everything you can. rebbot, erase whatever apn you have, check online what they should be (one APN for internet settings, one for MMS settings) and re create them manually. I found 3 different config over the net for my operator. I tried each one and tested both internet and mms each time till I found the right one. Then on ly Restore your appz.
It worked for me. On a boring and painfully evening...
good luck
@Floydfire its on both Roms, reboot afkter flash doesn't work
Restore Apn never completes (wait for over 1h) Will try it later whenn its full loaded again because im on other ROM.
@delestai whenn i erase all apn and insert only from my carrier i cant use the phone anymore because im many times on travel so i need roaming and for this i need the apn from many carriers.
Edit: apn restore works this time all apn set correct.
Internet works.
But when i try to send a sms a error Text Pop up and the umts/3g net goes down
So tryed some other modems none of them works.
Some more tips solusions or anything?
so now i create the apn manuall no changes at all
I'm following the guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1575749 for flashing the evo 3d to page plus from sprint. currently i have the phone rooted with s-off running meanrom. under the instructions it says you need to enter the MSID on the phone and if you don't have it to call your service provider. I called page plus and they say that they can't give me a MSID without the phone being activated on their service. I'm not sure what to do next. Do I give them the new ESN and have the change the service and then will they be able to give me the MSID or is there another method to do this?
Thanks for any help.
Edit: i'm currently on page plus with a old lg 9100 and the phone i'm trying to flash is a sprint phone that has never been activated.
second question: the apn backup and restore app says that APNS cannot be restored or deleted on this device because android 4.0+ does not allow 3rd party apps to write apn settings. what should I do to get this to work. i have the phone rooted with s-off currently running meanrom. should i put a different rom on there?

Have you flashed the page plus prl yet? If so you need to call them and give them your esn number. I believe the msid is for if you want to port your number over first before you call page plus. If you followed the guide to a T up until the apn part. Even though apps won't allow you to write to the apn, its ok because all your gonna do is delete and restore. Put your phone in airplane plane mode. Delete your current apn, click restore apn chose the page plus one. Disable airplane mode and reboot. I hope this helps you.

thanks, for the input. i'm going to try this a little later today.
so just an update for anyone who might stumble onto this thread. I figured out the steps: (Thanks Jsparta26)
After I flashed the prl, I called page plus and they activated the ESN. The MSID was the same as my phone number. Phone still didn't work, so i reflashed the PRL and then the phone was working. I didn't need to delete the APN, it was just working after. Now phone works for calls and 1x data. no MMS yet, got to figure that one out.
thanks for the help.
Your mms is also included in the apn file. Try the delete and restore method to see if works for you

I'm getting the message: Unfortunately APSs cannot be restored or deleted on this device because Android 4.0+ does not allow 3rd party apps to Write APN settings.
The Options in the Program are: Backup APNs, Restore APNs, Delete Backup Files, Delete APNs, and Donate.
Not sure what to do from here.
Ignore the part of backup, delete and restore. I was able to do this with an aosp rom and should work with a sense rom. You just cannot write to the apn file. Make a backup of your original apn, delete the current one, then restore using the page plus apn file and reboot. It should work. If not then manually copy it the apn file with a file explorer into your sdcard and take the page plus file and paste in the original location of the file and reboot. Let me know if that works.COLOR="Silver"]
---------- Post added at 09:39 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:33 AM ----------
[/COLOR]Which app are you using? Well if it don't work then I have another solution. Do you happen to know the settings of page plus's apn settings? Also do you know your msl code? If so, then open up your dialer and type ##3282# and punch in your msl code under edit. Once your through click on advanced and scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click on mmsc settings. If you know the settings you can manually input the settings in their correct spots. Once you do that hit commint changes or modifications at the top of the screen and hit reboot

I think I figured it out. In the settings for the program there is an option for "ignore ICS". i selected that and was able to delete and restore. looks like mms is now working, but it still shows 1x data.

yeah, 1x not so good.
Well I am glad that you got mms working. Not sure about the 1x signal, it could be a cell tower issue, not enough cell towers or that page plus's network is low priority. Have you flashed the latest page plus prl?

plenty of cell towers here, so that shouldn't be a problem. i'll try and flash the other prls and see what i get (right now i'm running the one from the main thread included in the rar). in the main thread i think there were problems with people not getting 3g. if i can't solve it with the prls, i'll have to comb through that thread for a solution.
Thanks for your help.

No problem. Just keep this in mind. Check to see if your radios are up to date on page plus's firmware. People used to have that problem when they went flash happy with the vm ruu ics leak back in may and messed up their phones with the dreaded 1x signal. Just something to think about. Good luck.

Stock xt1526 here with Android 5.1 no root or any other customization. After switching from R+ to Ting I lost service for good.
I am assuming it is APN related but I couldnt get the change the APN settings since it is greyed out in setting menu. I am wondering if there is a way to change the APN with my current set up?
If not; is rooting a solution to change APN? Can you please share some link how to change APN with root?
Can installing other ROMs help me to get the service back? and/or allow me to change APN?
Thank you for your helps
Flash stock modem files via Fastboot..
