AOKP for our tablet - Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet

Does anyone know of an AOKP build for the nook tablet 16g?
I ask because I like AOKP and in the current state of cm9 development it offers far more settings. If their isn't would it be as simple as compiling the source code with the 2.6 kernel.

It should work if it's working with CM9. The only thing is that it's more work to do and it's not really worth it when there is so much to fix with ICS right now.
Id try from source if I could get the device files and my aokp source would build. Maybe I'll try a quick port for fun.

No.
CM9 is the only ICS based rom in development. I don't know if there are any gingerbread versions of AOKP but if there is, someone could probably port it using the CM7 code.

Oh I would love to see an open Kang of ICS, I've been testing CM9 and so far so good is stable but there are some things that need to be fixed for sure.

I'd love to be able to compile it but for some reason I cant get the source code to compile even an official device and it did work before so my pc is setup. I did do a quick port using the zips but have tons of force closes I need to figure out. I'll play around and see if I can get m5 to work. Obviously it will still have every issue that the current cm9 has.
And AOKP is only ICS

Got it to boot with no FCs however the screen thinks it's 90 degrees to the side yet the toutchpoints on the screen are accurate for the way its being held.

Port
I did a port of the Kindle Fires AOKP and got it to boot but after going back and flashing gapps it stopped booting past Cyanoboot.
I might try compiling in a Ubuntu vm later.
EDITKeithn do the app previews from the recent apps key look rotated?

I made a thread in general about It, its probably a better place to figure this out. My entire screen is 90° off not just the recent apps lol

[Q] ICS on touchpad?

It's sad that I feel the need to say this... I've searched already or I wouldn't be asking it..
I'm assuming that whenever "they" get the ICS source that it'll eventually be ported to the TP... And was assuming that it'll be much easier porting ICS to the TP since there will already be a GB port and much of it will be "re-usable"? Or is it like starting from scratch all over again?..
Once the source code of ICS is posted the Cyanogen (core?) team will work on making CM8 which will be the ICS version of CM and then the CM-Touchpad team will make it compatible with the Touchpad using the same (if possible) drivers and techniques to do the dual boot with WebOS.

Request for AOKP on Prime

So I posted this on the AOKP forums and was told someone would need to port and maintain the ROM. If so then we get an AOKP version...so any of our talented Devs wanna give it a shot? I would but I'm not a Dev/Coder so I wouldnt get far lol...I'm sure I'm not the only one that would love AOKP, I know CM9 is being built...but its far from finished if you've tried it then you know what I mean...So how about it Devs?

Not a dev either, but have to second this. AOKP is a very fine ROM and would be a great addition to the TFP.
when CM is here I believe AOKP is very possible, if it is wanted I'm sure someone will port it;-)

AOKP ROM is amazing.
I had a Droid Incredible before and was a Avid CM7 user. Never liked anything but CM7...
Then I got the GNex and since CM9 isn't really out yet, I had to settle, or so I thought.
AOKP has more features than you could ever imagine. Roman and the other devs do a great job of adding features. They also are active in the forums so if you have a feature request, they normally will add it if possible.
That said, I am not sure I will switch to CM9 when it is officially released for the GNex.
It is based off of the CM9 source, but he modifies it like crazy. Very stable on the GNex.
Yeah, I'm waiting with baited breath for AOKP for my prime. It was ported for my OG EVO & was the only alpha build i didn't ditch within a day in the whole time i've owned the phone. Roman is really on the cutting edge of truly original & helpful tweaks. Shoot, I was only savvy enough to be able to use maybe 2/3 of what he had in there. A power user's wet dream. Plus pink unicorns dripping with butter? C'mon! (You'll just have to check it out if this doesn't make sense)
Giefmeaokp! Aokp would be sweet. I'm refreshing the dev forum every 5 secs waiting for custom roms n kernels to pop up!

Just for the record, AOKP is NOT based off the CM9 source. Both are based off the AOSP main source tree. Certain features might be incorporated from one to the other, but that is simply the beauty and benefit of open source.
Roman is definitely following his own vision with AOKP and the results are impressive.
So word is if someone is willing to "maintain" AOKP on the TP it is likely we can get it ported.
I have no idea what that means, but I think it means this:
-Maintaining Thread
-Building and testing new builds
-Bug Fixes
I have little to no idea how to do this, so if anyone is capable then we might be able to get AOKP.

JandyCane Port (proper Google Play Support), Fast, stable (so far) tablet mode

Hello everyone! I was here at work in the nursing home doing absolutely nothing and decided to try and port the Kindle Fire Jandycane JB 4.1 rom over to our tablet. I worked meticulously and was able to get the port to work and it seems rather stable except for our kernel limitations. I do not however get the updater script edited properly so a couple of features specific to the UI on the rom do not function but it is a nice alternative to the CM10 rom and it works fairly well. I especially like the baked in file browser and theme support! If anyone would like to add anything to make this rom better, PM me. We have a great community here and we all cant wait until the CM10 rom is as smooth as butter! I build this rom for fun and unfortunately I cannot provide any support since i dont really know what I am doing This rom is hosted on Mediafire and will only be available for thirty days as of 7/29. If a couple things get fixed such as proper mic support and location services, then maybe someone could host it on Goo-im. Thanks and I hope you like. P.S. Use Jelly Bean gapps and go check out the original authors page at xda developers kindle fire jandycane.
This is the link to the file. http://www.mediafire.com/?a3dzbc21v0tyfcd

Here are some UI pics. The rom is set to tablet mode which is the default with Jandycane. The other pic is of the baked in filebrowser. I believe this rom also has root access yea!

Everything seemed to work fine. Liked the home screen layout. Switched back to miui. Still had random reboot and blank screen issue. I know this is because of the kernel. When thoes issues get fixed this will definitely be the rom I would go to. Thanks!

Well, i have just installed this, and it seems to be as good, if not slightly quicker, than the other JB rom on the site. to be honest, its just niced to actually see a new rom pop up. im not dissing anyone obviously, but, i (still) have a htc desire, and the rom choice on xda is staggering, so, ive been hoping a few more devs/roms will start appearing!

Will be giving this a run over the weekend, I'll be stuck at work with hopefully not much to do.. I have been looking forward to seeing more devs pick up on the Nook Tab, surprised that the Kindle has so much more following given it doesnt have the SD card expandability of the Nooks
Well, the Kindle Fire has a pretty-much finished kernel, while ours still has it's holes in it. More developers should arrive when problems are fixed.

This port was quick and dirty. I will be more thorough once the 3.0 kernel is fixed. In the meantime i am thinking of porting over another Kindle fire rom based on 2.3. Any suggestions?
Just one tip: Anything you port that's 2.3, use our CM7 as the base.

No, I'm talking about his next port. He said it was Android 2.3 based.
Ive been using this for over a day now, only had 2 or 3 reboots, so, love it. Well done again. Both the ics rom and other jb rom reboot too much for me for some reason.
Another problem ive noticed, is that whenever I do a nandroid of anything other than cm7, thwy always either have md5 mismatch, or they just boot loop. This rom did as well, so I'm just sticking with this for the minute!

[Q] Do you want a PA|CM10|JB Port

It would take a little bit of time to do it and make sure it is all working just as well as Dragonzkiller CM10|JB rom but I can "try" to port over PA|CM10|JB rom to our device depending on how many actually want it. I will not port it over if we do not want it.
Of course! We want all we can get
Do we want it? Thats a silly question. lol. I'd wait for dragonzkiller's Alpha 2 though.

I agree. DZK has mentioned that he will "probably" release A2 this coming weekend. Of course we want it.
Yea I am. Only wish he had wireless tethering and the built in tethering apps working as well with alpha 2.
But as soon as he releases it if time persists ill get to working on it. Unless yall want me to wait until he has all the kinks he can get out of it are complete then do it. I'm not much good at "updating" roms lol.
Alpha 1 is already damn stable. I'd imagine Alpha 2 will be fine to port with. Just my opinion.
How about someone porting aokp also?

Are you going to build from source? Or port from another phone?
I will probably build it from source. I have just about all of it setup the only thing holding me up is JDK. Can't install anything after that without it installing correctly. I have Teamviewer if you wanna take a look at it and see what is going on. If you can't then ill have to wait on DZK to help me set the rest of it up.
I will begin development after this weekend, going to have DZK help me finish my work area then compile PA from source then we should be ready to roll. No telling just how long it will take so I can make sure everything works the way it should the first time. And I will keep it updated to every update DZK puts out.
Great news!!! Thanks.
PA Jellybean would be a dream.
I absolutely love that hybrid tablet/phone interface.

Well, if we never get ION/IOMMU working, we'll likely never see graphics output, unless it be severely underperforming. HTC should have made the transition with the ICS kernel like everyone else, but Gingerbread->ICS was completely half-assed, and that makes ICS->Jellybean even more difficult.
On positive side, through this I've learned that we're 100% likely to never see an official Jellybean release.

Make sure your drivers are the JB ones, to get past a driver mismatch, but I imagine they already are. You might see something about the vsync control sysfs interface missing, which I've gotten past but not yet posted. Now I'm at a stage where it is unable to allocate a framebuffer, since the stubs always fail because ion is disabled.
Snuzzo, are you talking about my CM10 build or D's AOKP build?
D, I was unable to pull a log from either of our roms :/
It never loaded kernel. I also tried Snuzzo's JB kernel.
In brunching I noticed it calls for a different wifi chipset that's off by a single digit which is fixed by simply renaming it.

I've got video partially working (page flipping is disabled, but getting a black framebuffer, that's progress ). I'm still running into reboots, so video isn't the cause of that, and the reliability of getting a log is temperamental, so there's probably a race condition in the init scripts.
Got working vid in CM10. Bootlogo at least. Doesn't completely boot though.
Edit: Got it to boot but repeated android.phone crash. Permissions thing most likely.
