[Q] No longer booting into recovery. - Motorola Droid RAZR

My Razr is no longer booting into recovery every time I restart the phone after using bootstrap. Should I reapply bootstraper?
Also, will UOT Kitchen work with Clutch modified stock rom?

1) did recovery work when you selected reboot recovery via bootstrap?
2) if so, did you install the onboot recovery file by J. Daddy then reboot system?
3) if so to that, did you then deny permission via superuser for bootstrap?
should work..

The bootstrap is supposed be one time boot by default so you have to reapply the bootstrap every time you want to get to the recovery or install cwm on boot from the devel thread..

Did all three of those steps, but still it doesn't boot into CWM every time.

[Q] Problem with Streakmod

I've flashed everything properly and I'm able to boot into streakmod immediately after flashing. However, upon rebooting the phone, going into recovery mode will not take me to streakmod. It will only take me to the stock Dell recovery page (where I can restore or press volume to power down).
Why does this only work immediately after flashboot and not afterwards?
Thanks in advance.
This is on 354 btw.

When you reboot the phone it's supposed to take you to the stock DELL recovery. You choose the option to install update.pkg and then when you see the DELL logo with a yellow exclamation point you press the power button again and it will take you to Streakmod.
Now, if you are using a stock ROM, then you have to use a file manager that gives you root access (such as Root Explorer) to your internal SD card and rename a file called "install-recovery.sh", located in \system\etc (can't remember exactly where it is) and rename it to install-recovery.sh.bak. Then flash Clockworkmod or Streakmod again and you should be good to go

Yeah, it works fine after rebooting through flashboot, but after that the streakmod page will not load up...it will simply take me back to the stock DELL recovery.
I'll try this fix though...thanks!
Stock roms overwrite the recovery after every boot. That's why is works once after flashing. You'll have to run a custom rom to maintain a coustom recovery. Sorry :-(

You do not have to run a custom rom to use a custom recovery. You do have to root your phone so that you can rename the file install-recovery.sh located in the folder /system/etc/ so that it does not run every time you boot your phone. I use stock 351 and the recovery-v0.3.2.7-DoctorWFix.zip version of StrekMod Recovery so I can make nandroid backups. The latest version of MultiRecovery Flasher will install this version.

[Q] Atrix shows Android/Exclamation mark when booting into Recovery

I recently unlocked and rooted my Atrix but now I'm having this issue that whenever I attempt to go into recovery it'll just show an android with a triangle exclamation mark. The only time it'll allow me to enter recovery mode is right after I flash recovery via Rom Manager. If I flash it, then reboot and attempt to enter recovery it'll just display that icon. Thanks in advance!
bump, same problem!
It doesn't flash it properly I think. Try Romracer's, follow the instructions there to delete a previous cwm file. Good luck
Which/who's version of recovery are you trying to use? If your trying to install Rom Racers, you knew to make sure "install-recovery.sh" is deleted from /system/etc. first, before installing.

I use CWM on my Evo so I was trying to do that.
Works when I flash from ROM manager, and reboot from the program, but when I select Recovery from menu when holding down power+down, it gives me the "!"
So i should delete this and to the ROM Racer Version?
Use RomRacers latest. If you want install the zip file via Rom Manager to make it the Rom Managers CWM.
You can either flash the img file via fastboot, or run the CWM zip via the ROM Manager recovery. Hope this helps.

Can't boot into CWM even though rooted

I've installed CWM. However, whenever I to boot into recovery it'll take me the "Android system recovery <3e>" with no option to install from SD, therefore I can't install any ROM. What can I do? Please help.
If you have CWM installed, when you go to the stock recovery, click on reinstall packages. It will reboot into stock recovery again and again click reinstall packages, and it should take you to the green CWM recovery.

He has 3e recovery and that won't work.
Op: Odin a voodoo kernel, as it's the easiest way and has cwm built in. The other two methods include ironing to jfd and flashing custom rom (easiest if custom is your end goal) or replacing 3e recovery with a modified one (hardest method by far).

A factory reset (clearing data) will do the trick. There are likely other ways as well.

Of course, it's possible. But, you have a little risk.
Follow the below:
(Using the rootexplorer)
1) First, delete file /system/bin/mot_boot_mode
2) Rename /system/bin/mot_boot_mode.bin to /system/bin/mot_boot_mode (Very important)
3) Delete file /system/etc/razr_cwm_boot.cfg
4) Last, delete file /data/.recovery_mode
5) reboot
Recovery does not boot anymore. You must be using the RazrBootstrap app.
Good Luck with Razr!

this = cyanogenmods for razr?
So how does this differ from Razr bootstrap recovery? Doesn't this just do the same thing? And, does this get us closer to a full sbf if we need to get back to full stock? as I understand it, there is not recovery file yet?
I'm in a Verizon Razr btw.

This will automatically boot you into recovery.
For example, if you flash a theme (or anything that doesn't format data) and something go wrong and you are stuck in a bootloop, you can volume down + power to reset in recovery so you can restore your backup or whatever.

Understood, so still no recovery files, but keeps you from getting stuck in a boot loop or recovering from one. Thanks for clarifying!.

No need just put the bootstrap apk a zip file and name it update.zip the power on via power button and vol down, then go to Android recovery then hit vol up.
From there go to update.zip and flash it and reboot recovery, then boom in bootstrap recovery
