[Q] Unlock GSM after Repair ? - HTC EVO 3D

Hello,
I have a kind of same issue and do not know to to..., in two words:
Since October my EVO 3D GSM was unrooted, S-Off , revolutionary-0.4pre4.zip etc... and using Leedroid Rom as my daily and others rom to play with.
Last week my phone decided to jump from the table to the ground and so, the Digitizer Glass has to be replaced by Repair specialist company (agreed by HTC) to avoid losing warranty.
5 days after I received my phone (properly repaired) but here are the details of my phone now:

How can I managed in order to be Unlocked again ?
All I want to do is to Restore my backup I have made before sending it for repair.
I have backuped everything using Recovery Mode and Titanium.
Titanium BackUp is requesting Root to restore my settings and so on...
Sorry about this but I read tons of treads and cannot decide from where I have to start.
Kind Regards

You're still on hboot .18 which is good. Downgrade your hboot to .07 and use the revolutionary tool to unlock and s-off again, alternatively use the htcdev method. Good luck.

Sadly HTC dev to unlock your boatloader again and also are you able to boot into recovery

All is perfect now...
Thanks so much too all community contributors who helped me a lot during my research.
Thanks again
what I have done (for helping the others within the same kind of situation):
1- Downloaded RUU of Vodaphone taking care of:
- HBoot Version (mine was 18)
- RUU Vodaphone (cause my CID was : VODAP203)
2- Downloaded HTC Drivers
3 - Connect HTC Device to the computer
4 - Launch RUU.exe then follow the instruction
- I had to hibernate my Firewall cause causing trouble to let teh PC exchanging with the device while rebboting in bootloader mode
5 - Check HBoot version and it was as predicted in 0007 ! Yuppi !
6 - Connect to Revolutionary.io and downloaded their tool
7 - Follow the instruction and please do not forget to generate the key from their website and use it (TIP: Copy / Paste to avoid any mistyping)
8 - A problem occurs during the process (Normal cause I was already in S-Off)
9 - Check the Bootloader :
- - Revolutionary -
- HBoot 1107
- S-Off
I did not change my CID yet cause my firts objective was to restore my Lee's Rom nandbackuped and restore all my apps via Titanium.
Again Thanks to all

When you follow a Guide, you should follow it thoroughly. Do not skip any step buddy.
I can see you are still on latest radio and 2.17 ROM with hboot 1.4. Why didnt you followed the last few things of the 2nd step?
You should run 1.13 RUU exe before running revolutionary. After that you will be on the old 1.13 ROM and the old radios and baseband with hboot 1.4. Then
Turn On USB debugging from settings > Applications > development.
and run revolutionary and you will be good to go.
You can then again upgrade to 2.17 with latest radio by keeping hboot 1.4 and S-OFF by flashing this from bootloader (rename it PG86IMG.zip first) --> http://db.tt/F6iivHSC
That zip will upgrade everything including firmware, radio, baseband (software version will be 1.13 though) after flashing that you can restore your 2.17 nandroid or can flash any 2.17 ROM without changing hboot and S-OFF flag.
NOTE: Do not use 2.17 RUU or your hboot will be upgraded to 1.5 again. S-OFF will still be there.
1.5 isn't a big deal. As long as you have s off it stays til you change the secure flag. You can still flash roms. Etc

thank you i guess i did miss some steps, its been a long day with school, kids, and work i will retry again and ensure i follow all steps.

Do not retry all those steps, you should just use the 1.13 RUU EXE now, then revolutionary IMO , just check again what steps you've missed.......
thank you for your advice it worked i guess i was just so excited about getting 1.4 without totally truly bricking my phone i over looked the rest of the steps... i am now 1.4 with S-off. Thank you everybody for your input.

[Q] htc evo 3d hanging

hi can i ask the solution of htc evo 3d hanging on bootloader mode, how to change rom or format device
what do you mean?
and is your phone rooted(s-on or s-off)

not yet rooted but i unlock bootloader & try to s-off but not supported hboot 1.49.0018 so i try to downgrade h-boot but not success & its now hanging on htc screen & rebooting time and again so plz if u have idea
The only hboot number supported is 1.49.0007 and 1.49.0008 anything above this require HTC dev so youve done that next you need to install a custom recovery next download a Rom and flash it next you will start the process off downgrading of your hboot to any of the hboots thats stated above once this is done your ready for alpharevolutionary.io then and only then you will be able to reach the almighty and famous s off in this order
sent from my EVO 3D s off using xda premium
And remember, if you screw up anywhere during the process, you can always download the GSM RUU, relock, and flash it through bootloader.
I wouldn't advise relocking unless you're completely stumped since i dont think you can unlock again after that.

Help with Evo 3D

Hello all .....I seemed to have messed something up and I could use some help
I installed Virtuos shooter version 3.0.1 and it booted fine everything ran fine, upto the moment i tried to install titanium back up. It installed fine but an error message popped up when I opened it saying "could not get root access" so I had a look at SuperSU which wanted to update binary but had an error with that aswell.
After all this i decided to go back into recovery and flash the nandroid i'd made. I booted into bootloader mode to go into recovery and the bootloader said "wrong image, no image" before asking me "would you like to update". There were about 11 things needing an update so I decided yes so that i could get access to recovery. After the update finished it said "reboot" and it just rebooted into the ROM.
Now I can't get into revolutionary recovery to restore the nandroid i created before installing this. Any ideas how to fix this? Kind of like a "chicken and egg" situation
Edit:
Revolutionary S-off
hboot version: 1.49.1107
You have a PG86IMG.zip on your sd its and hboot zip in other words. Every time you boot into your bootloader with that zip on your sd it will always ask. If you have a card reader on your laptop or pc use it to remove the zip. Or boot into your rom and use a file manger/explorer to remove the zip from your sd. Or put the zip into a folder on your sd.

I am not to confident with the process to downgrade cause I think I have read too much thread about this subject and I cannot find from where to start now as I already am S-off.
And all I want is to be rooted in order to flash custom rom and using titanium app to restore
So, following the supplied link, I just have to download the PG86IMG.ZIP file, place it on the sd card and reboot while holding down vol ?
Am i right ?
STOP DO NOT ATTEMPT THE DOWNGRADE IF YOUR ALREADY S-OFF. Didn't notice that or I would have posted this earlier my bad. Just flash a recovery and your rom of choice and your good. Once you have flashed the recovery you can restore your nandroid. Once you restore your nandroid then you can use tb to restore your apps.

Unlock Evo LTE ?

Can someone please tell me if the htc dev unlock is the only way to unlock our phone so that we can flash new roms. I have it rooted now, but I believe I need it unlocked as well. Is this correct? I am just trying to find out the best way to do this. The HTC DevUnlock seems to be very frustrating. Thanks, and I am sure I am not the only one with this question. I see a couple tutorials for rooting but not for unlocking.
Right now it is. It's not that bad. I unlocked in about 20 minutes. Worse thing for me is I had to factory reset. I had just set everything up but if you had rooted before it will still be there because the unlock only wipes data not system.

I just used the procedure discussed here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1672072&highlight=+hboot+2+18+
to unlock the HBOOT 2.18 boot loader on my OG EVO 4g. I have no idea what it does or how, but it produced exactly the same result as HTCDev without going through HTCDev. From unlocked, I was able to flash an older RUU that let me achieve S-OFF using Revolutionary.
Now, I understand that EVO 4G LTE has no earlier versions that have been unlocked. So, no RUU to fall back to, but I wonder if the method used in the EVO post could be applied to at least get us non-HTCDev Unlocked.

[Q]HELP HBOOt 1.53 S-OFF CANT FLASH ANY ROM

I have my EVO HBOOt 1.53 (JopunutBear) S-off stock 4.0 rom. Now when i flash jb or ics custom roms i get a bootlop.

Are you putting the pg file in the root of your sdcard or in a separate file folder?

yes i put it in root. how big is the rigt pg file. i have one with about 324kb and one with about 300mb

That one with about 384 kB. Then, turn off your phone, turn it on in bootloader (volume down + power on). Wait a little and it will ask you to update. Press volume up, and wait. After that you have to delete that PG file from sd card. (that pg 300 MB has a rom on it..thats why it is so big)

If the bootloader doesn't find the zip, make sure it's named PG86IMG.zip (capitalization as is) and make sure there is no double zip extension.
Here my BL. It Doesnt find the small PG file.
Does it something has to do with my JoupunutBear HBOOT 1.52.7777
Are there other ways to downgrade hboot with s-off?
Can i flash JoupunutBear HBOOT 1.49 from unlimited.io?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
If you can boot into your ROM then just check whether your phone is recognizing data on your sdcard. Sometimes after the wire trick sdcards tend to flip out. Your pc might be detecting it fine but the phone might not. Just humor me and try playing a song or something from the card just to rule out this possibility

i will try this. is hboot downgarde the only way to get custom roms working?
EDIT:SD works
What about cid for pg file? i have htc_102. i tried fastboot oem writecid 1111111 and htc_01 but nothing changed.
Cid shouldn't be a problem with the zip from that thread. Try running an RUU and then downgrading hboot

If you are still having issues let me know. I have recently had the same problem as yourself.
With hboot 1.53 you can only run ICS ROMs but if you are not able to run ICS either I would use a 4EXT recovery then enable smart flash (I know this should only matter when s-on is worth a go) Also use fastboot to flash the boot.img from what ever ROM you have chosen just incase it's an issue with that.
PG86img.zip files are CID specific and need to be for your location and carrier (from my understanding) unless you have a super CID which is 11111111 (denoting a factory unlocked device, but don't quote me)
I too have a 1.53.0007 hboot and also am having trouble finding a solution to hboot changes once you are s-off with that hboot. How I got that hboot after gaining s-off is beyond me but it seems I am not alone and if that hboot can be put in it HAS to be able to change it. The easiest way that I can think of is to gain s-on (I haven't looked hard enough for that yet though) then to s-off again and make the hboot update that way.
by the way (now I can't find it's exact meaning and am choked) I was really surprised that the beer reference had more than just a catchy ring to it. Engineering something or other, I shoulda wrote it down

the PG86IMG in this thread is compatible with all CIDs. as long as you are s-off you can change your hboot easily using this thread

Thank you so much. And now I'm able to flash jellybean ROMs I think I'll stick with the ICS one I am using (King Cobra, I think could be Cool though) as it is great on batteries and everything works great. And I get to freak people out with the creepy 3d camera. lol.

I am assuming that your phone wasn't S-OFF at the time? I accidentally tried to S-OFF one of my EVO 3Ds (GSM) that was already S-OFF at the time and I got a "WOW!!! What are you doing. Your phone appears to be S-OFF already. Doing so again could result in impotence, and death" or words to that effect. Basically a gaudy do you want your phone to die type of a message. If your device was S-OFF to begin with I was not aware that you could use Juopunutupbear to change the HBOOT version without going through the whole S-OFF process. Can you give some more details as to your phones state (i.e., HBOOT version, S-ON or S-OFF, etc...) before you used juopunutupbear to change the HBOOT. Thanks

Thanks

I s-OFFed my phone (Hboot 1.53 or sth.) with jouponut bear and then i flashed hboot 1,49.999 fro here: http://unlimited.io/jbhboots.htm
There is a thread about how exacly you can downgrade your hboot, maybe could be better explained but study the forum a bit more... I also had that problem and after two days searching and downloading all kinds of files I did it...
