Hi there. I recently bought a Alcatel One Touch 890D for my mother. Everything is nice and good but there is only one problem... They have included Ringdroid in their default rom and I suppose they want us to configure ringtones and alarms from there but there is no sounds menu under settings. I rooted the phone and installed some stuff but never touched the phones factory programs. So there wasn't a sounds menu at all. How can I add this menu to my phone ? How can I access it ? I want to change vibration and and other sound related settings and I cant do them without this menu. Is there a third party program that makes it possible ?
Thanks.

Hi guys
I've tried several different ROM's recently but one thing that seems to be missing from them all is Quick Launcher (I think that was what it was called).
Basically I want the phone dialer to open when I slide the keypad out - unless I'm in another application such as SMS or Opera (where I just want to use the keypad for input).
Does anyone know of a CAB or ROM which will do this.
I'd also like something that will show on the top bar when my bluetooth headset is connected (at the moment it only shows when I start to dial) - Again CAB or Rom suggestions?
I've also just loaded this which seems to be a cracking application and well worth a look.

I have gone back to Niki Project Rom Editor v2.1.3 (WWE/ITA/GER/FRE/PTG/ESN )
until I can find something else
Having gone back to the previous ROM I realise it's not quick launcher that I'm after.
Quick Launcher lets you choose New Email, New SMS, New MMS etc which I had disabled before.
This rom does respond immediatly when you start dialing the other 6.5 that I tried didn't - any suggestions??
I simply want to be able to open the H/W keypad and start dialing without a delay or having to press another button first.
Hi, and first of all thank you xdadevelopers for your work! awesome I can have my xperia updated to 2.1 rooted here in Spain!
Now my question is if is possible to disable vibration on the dialpad, 'cause I can't find the option.
I know it's a little silly question but it's bothering me, thank you.
I think you can find the option in settings, sound and display?
but not sure.
thanks but there only can remove sound not vibration
when using the keyboard use the settings button looks like a repair tool there you can disable if is not there go to settings, check keyboard and uncheck it from the default keyboard option, same applies for android one

this works for the keyboard but no effect on dialpad, and when on dialpad settings buttons does nothing.
thank you anyway
Try going into settings "Sound and Display, and untick "Haptic Feedback". It says that it "vibrates when pressing soft keys and on certain UI interactions". Maybe that's the one you're looking for.
i have the same question, i can't remove the vibration on the dial pad.
send from x10a flash with x10i nordic 2.1
I have looked all over forums and internet and I have found no one who is able to disable the vibration from my HTC EVO 46. I cannot stand the dial pad lay out and it showing the call history right above it and can't seem to find a replacement for that either that will be my default phone dialer, not something I have to additionally go to.

After installing the Omega v.35 on my SGSIII I'm having a trouble with sounds, seems like I can't turn off the sounds for keyboard and there is also some sound when I scroll any list (in contacts or in settings, it's always bipping!) Vibration during clicks is also annoying and also can't turn it off. Please help!
On settings screen I have turned off all sounds in system section what else should I do to get rid of that sound-mess??
Here are my screens for sound section:
I can't see the attached images, but you can disable vibration and/or sound on keyboard by going into language & input settings, choose the settings for your keyboard and uncheck the correponding boxes.

Hi
To get rid of irritating sounds, you could try moving/deleting all the User Interface sound files from \system\media\audio\ui using something like ES File Explorer. That's what I do and I get no unwanted sounds out of my device any more.
You do have to do this each time you flash a new ROM tho.

Thanks, so does that mean that it is a bug of Omega or what? On stock firmware I could easily tun on and off vibration and sounds in settings.
I just flashed a new rom and flashed Gapps, Gmail wasn't included so i downloaded it from the market. This version now has my labels (Inbox, Junk, Starred, etc etc) on the left side of the app. I don't want them there i like having just my inbox full screen. But i can't seem to find a way to remove it.
Anyone have this as well and know how to get rid of it? Sorry for asking a dumb question but i didn't find a solution when searching.
It's a dpi setting that makes it dual panel. What rom are you on so I or someone else can walk you through changing it?
It's usually under "hybrid" settings.
Thank you for the reply and the tip! I have rootbox rom installed and was actually able to disable it, but since reflashed so if you knew where the actual setting was, i am not sure what i did that turned it off. SO many setting choices and options, really a tad overwhelming!!
Thanks so much for your help!
On root box you would open system settings, touch hybrid, slide window right, touch apps, then app you want to change. In this case touch gmail. It's probably set to 250dpi. Move slider up to 320, touch launch and PRESTO!
Hi,
I'm from UK and was I was lucky enough to win a Galaxy S4 following a recent visit to SanFran. They posted it over to me when I returned and I've since been trying to get it working with my O2 (UK) sim card.
Most things work ok except I cannot change the SMS message center - because the menu just doesn't doesn't exist.
I don't have a simple button for enabling / disabling Wifi - and a few other minor issues.
I ahve rooted it and have enabled access to the hidden system menus but I don't see the option anywhere. I would like to keep the stock touchwiz ROM at this stage because I'm pretty happy with it. How do I enable all these menus?
Thanks,
Colly

To which menus are you referring? The Hidden dialer options?

The menus (or menu options) I can't see but want to see include the SMS message center menu option, the wifi toggle in notification area, the autocorrect menu, the blocking mode menu.
I also want to get rid of the "Non-Verizon SIM" notification.
I thought I would be able to get access to these features via the hidden system menus (e.g. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2303905 ) or via dialler service menus (e.g. http://androidforums.com/samsung-ga...unlocking-jelly-bean-service-modes-found.html ).
Do I just need to install a custom ROM? Is there a Touchwiz ROM out there that is pretty much standard but has ALL menus and features enabled?

You could use Safestrap and install Hyperdrive RLS12 on the device. It is Twiz based so you can keep all of your S4 features while fixing the wifi toggle and not installing the Verizon software that you can't use anyway.
