Hi Everyone,
So I just got S-OFF and post a questions about flashing...I then booted into Amon Recovery just to see if it was still there and it was. I then rebooted phone from Amon (which i have done before) and now my phone is in a boot loop. It boots into OS from then run super slow and reboots over and over and over again.
I have:
pulled battery...still boot loops
pulled battery and SIM...still boot loops
pulled battery and removed SIM...it work without SIM card, but no service
booted without back cover on...it works...but still no service. as soon as i put the back cover on it starts bootlooping again.
What the heck did I do wrong?
I am on stock GB S-OFF. any thing else i can try?
Thanks!

I'd reflash a stock RUU and then factory reset and start over.

Hi nosympathy,
Thanks for the quick reply. I may have resolved it by simply booting back into Amon and rebooting again from there. I will however take your response when/if this happens again.
I plan on trying to flash ICS Clean Rom or Ivysaur Rom. Just not sure if I can flash these with current setup. I am Stock GB S-OFF.
Thanks again for the help

You can flash either just make sure you flash the old firmware patch. You can find this in bored's rezrom 1.2 thread under downloads.

Hi nosympathy,
Thanks for the information. I am kind of new at this but why do I need to flash the firmware patch when I am S-OFF? Will this patch update my firmware to ICS firmware?
Thanks again...

No it is because of the mount points changing on ICS. It just makes the from you flash look at the GB mount points instead of the ICS mount points.
Won't change your hboot or radios.

Hey nosympathy,
Thanks again for the information. Think you can take a look at my second question?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1639977
I basically want to know if I upgrade to new ICS firmware can I just start flashing the ICS ROMs without the need of flashing the 'old firmware patch'? And since I am S-OFF can I simply flash the new firware with going and unlock/locking from HTC dev?
Thanks again for all your help...

I was running A05PTH3ORY V1.4X and wanted to put on a new kernel to see if I could get better batter life. I flashed Tiamat's kernel and everything seemed to work fine for a little while while it was sitting on my desk. About 30 minutes later I reached over to unlock it and nothing, it had shut off.
I go to turn it on and I get a boot loop on the white HTC screen. I get into recovery to restore a backup and it get a minute into the restore and automatically reboots. So I try again but wipe data/cache first, same thing. So I try to just install a new ROM, same thing, reboots.
Don't know where to go from here....any help?
Can I rename a ROM to PG05IMG.zip and flash it through the bootloader????

Same thing happened to me. You have to find the correct RUU to flash in bootloader. I flashed the stock RUU. Although I lost root, phone was fine again.

Another member had the same problem as you and what eventually fixed it was a factory RUU run from the computer. You would then need to root the phone again. The other fix to try first is a different Micro SD card. Apparently if the Micro SD is bad or corrupted, when the phone is trying to restore the backup it encounters an error and reboots. If you don't have another Micro SD card then you can try formatting the current one. Formatting the Micro SD card will erase everything, I'm sure you know that. If you want to run a factory RUU from your computer this site has a couple different RUU's to choose from http://dougpiston.com/ThunderBolt/RUU/ Download one of the .exe RUU's not the .zip RUU's. Once you download it to your computer run it from your computer with the phone plugged in and turned on. Running the RUU is a last resort because you'll have to root your phone again, but if you've exhausted all your other options then go for it.

Tbolt! Thanks for the help on the IRC! It worked!
I flashed the MR1 RUU and it got me in. So all is well!
Question though....why? I can understand a boot loop because of my phone not meshing well with the kernel, but why wouldn't it let CWR work correctly?

Had the same problem and cure. I suspected a fubar clockwork only because I was running an older version.

HMMM.....I was running the most up to date CWR.
Yesterday my phone started to act up so I restarted it and it won't boot ever again. I wasn't able to get to the recovery either. So I relocked and did a ruu and I updated to the latest version. I flashed amon recovery and started to flash different roms like dev CleanROM and rooted 4.03 stock(I did the root fix and flash the image) . After initial setup all I get was reboot. I then flashed CleanROM 3.7 that is in my sd card. It's working fine now. BTW all flashes were done before a full wipe not with the tool but in the amon recovery. I don't know what's causing the reboot problem. I don't see any topics related to this, there might be some posts related to this. But please link me to me if you can. And also the fix would be nice.
Thank you in advance

What did you have on your phone to begin with when this problem started?
Which RUU did you flash? Sounds like maybe you did GB which would explain why CR3.7 works, and not 4.1.
Something you can try if you want is try the patch that has been posted letting phones on the original firmware run ROMs dev'ed for the new one.
Also check your HBOOT and check those versions.
Also could be bunk downloads of the newer ROMs. Have you tried re-downloading. Might be a good idea after checking all the other things.
Hi guys. So here's my problem. I recently tried to update my phone to the latest version of NRG's Energy Rom using CWM. In the process I did a factory data wipe, and wiped the dalvik cache. I then flashed the rom as normal, but when I rebooted all I got was the white screen with the green HTC logo. It refuses to go any further. I can still get into recovery if needed, and I've tried a ton of different things, but to no avail. Anybody have any ideas as to what I need to do or is this thing hosed?
The phone is S-ON at the moment with an unlocked bootloader.
Any help is appreciated.

Flash the wipe script, flash the rom you wanted, when the phone boots up, let it sit for a few minutes, like 10 should be good.
Well I'll be damned. I could have sworn I tried that, but there we go. Thank you so much for the help.

Also, get rid of CWM and use 4ext recovery. It's in the dev section... And its the preferred recovery by most amaze users. I have a thread in Dev section
It allows you to flash kernel automatically when flashing ROM, that way you don't have to use a kernel flasher. Plus many other features.

Thanks for the info. I've been looking at recent posts and it seems I'm behind on a few things, including getting s-off.
Weird Problem
I had the same problem but I don't want to lock and re-unlock my bootloader. And this has never happened but my CWM Recovery isn't working. I didn't use 4ext bc this happened last time with that recovery. Is there any way to find the wipe script to use it from fastboot?
Tried kernel flashing; re-flashing recovery...second time this happened with s-on on speed rom
Had to re-wipe phone and re-flash everything...Got it working again! Weird problem though?!?!
i just upgraded to 2.2.1 and now my phone keeps rebooting when i try to do anything with system (wipe or write a new rom). phone continually rebooting, if my current rom tries to load phone reboots again.
when i plug in light does not come on...
any ideas or is this thing dead? i can still get into recovery and have some battery life just not sure what to do... already reflashed recovery
seems like my /system/ is hosed not sure how to fix if possible
tried nandroid restore.. it reboots
tried to reflash existing.. it reboots
i can still get into recovery though but if i do anything with 'system' it reboots
any ideas how to get that fixed or probably have to replace? i cant even overwrite my custom boot logo. ugh lol
Try relocking the bootloader, then fast boot the ruu

thanks im downloading the RUU..
How exactly did you update to the newest base?
Figured I would update this thread in hopes of helping someone else if they get stuck here.
I had upgraded to the new base with PJ75IMG and that went well - had used other ROMs on that new base.
What had happened was I was flashing venom on TWRP 2.2.0 and it rebooted phone when it hit system (why system was damaged in first place not sure, i had just rebooted into recovery).
I had to oem lock, ruu, oem unlock (even though it said s-off for lazypanda it was not working) and then i was able to re-flash twrp (this time pushed 2.2.1 through fastboot).
I've put a lot of evo's in bad spots but the behavior I saw on this was new for me.. Anything I touched 'system' from twrp or if my rom tried to load, phone would cycle. Light would NOT go on when plugged in.
Either way rocking new rom and am good! thanks guys
I bought a phone from eBay. It was stuck in a boot loop. Wasn't unlocked. Guy couldn't figure it out. After a lot of work last night I was able to unlock the boot loader from hboot and somehow get amon ra 3.0.6 recovery on it. I then proceeded to flash business sense ROM. After it flashed it took me back to boot loader and flashed the kernel and it booted and worked perfect all night. This morning I rebooted the phone and now its back to being stuck at the boot animation and countless boot loop. I have tried wiping reflashing you name it. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this thing? Can I actually s off it directly from hboot? I feel like s off would solve my issue as this is by far not my first modded phone I just bought it for a very good deal and would love to use it. I mean it was working perfect and now nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Turns out it was a boot IMG issue. Now the new prob is every Rom I flash my WiFi errors out and never turns on. Anyone have a suggested boot IMG they prefer?

for the wifi to work you need a wifi patch from the dev who made the rom. Also each rom has its own boot img you cant use one for multiple roms.:good: a very good sense 4 rom is viper rez i have had no problems or bugs with it and my rezound is highly modded its not laggy at all either!
and......WIFI WORKS!

I agree, flash a current RUU, reroot, and test with a stable ROM like one from scott or newt.
