Hello. I was jogging yesterday. And was running runkeeper the running+gps app. And suddenly i heard a loud beep and then the phone turned off... When i got home i turned the phone on. It wouldn't work. So i took out the batteri and waited. I put it in a few hours later and it worked. Now the screen turns on and off all the time. Its quite annoying. Anyone got any problems with it or anyone think they can help me? please post. Thank you.

Sorry if I'm creating a new thread for this topic but i have searched and i still cannot find an answer to my problem. When I'm in a dark room, sometimes even not too dark, if a place a call my phone screen will go off, like to sleep mode, and will never wake up again until either i go to a brighter place or I hook it up to the power (usb cable), has anyone experienced this? and please if someone knows what's going and how to solve this issue, thanks so much for your help!!
I have the same problem too ... but sometime it just light up again directly after I finish the call. I think it has something to do with the ROM itself coz a friend of mine has installed the Incredible S ROM and it works perfectly.
I'll try on my HD2 and let u know .....
oh.. by the way Im using Nuxes One ROM

It is also possible to be a faulty light sensor or even some dirt in front of it, right underneath touchscreen glass!
First of all, you should flash a stock ROM and see what happen: if it's not OK. then you have a hardware problem!
dirt between screen and sensor caused the same to me, I've cleaned it and now is ok
I'm sorry if this was asked before, but it's pretty urgent.
My hd 2 awakes right after I put it to sleep (means turning the display off) - it just awakes itself. That drains battery and I can't put it in standby. Looked up settings, there is nothing wrong with the settings.
Vibration also doesn't work anymore, although it's active.
So how can I solve either problem?
Thanks in advance

Doesn't anybody has an idea? It's really annoying and I don't really want to send it to repair, since I don't have the slightest clue, where the bill is :-/

Ok this is odd. I dont know what I did but my HD2 was doing the same thing. I would push the red button to put it to sleep and it would just keep waking up. screen would go off and on. I did a hard reset and its fine now.
Well, I never had that idea...but thanks for the hint, I might as well try that

If it works and it stops doing the nonstop wakeup thing. Please let us know so anyone who has the same problem can find this and know what they can do to fix it.
It just disappeared : o
I don't know how or why, but as I restarted my phone this morning, the issue was just gone and finally it stays in standby without turning on by itself :/

hey at least its gone. now if it happens again you know all you have to do is goto bed and when you wake up restart you phone.

Suddenly the vibrate stopped working. Did not vibrate when touching the screen nor did it vibrate on the ringer. I checked settings and it was still checked. Rebooted the phone.. Didn't even vibrate at boot up. Checked again.. No vibrate.. So I smacked it against my hand mildly. Suddenly it's working again. Hmm. I never had this problem. Is this a known issue?

lol, this tells me you aren't a kid. The old, smack-it-until-it-works trick? I've never had the issue and never heard of it. I'd keep an eye on it, though, especially if you're close to your return date.

You hit your phone and it started working agian? Seems like your phone is a masochist.
guess it was stuck...
Sometimes I need a little smack to get me through the day.
Hmm. So i guess this is nothing to be concerned about? I figured something was "stuck". But I also thought maybe loose soldering pin on the pcb. And that kinda bothered me... Being a new phone and all. I bought it online and I don't want a refurb. Hope it does not get worse.
Had the same problem with my ex.

Hey guys!
My new S3 ( bought 30 may ),I noticed a few days ago when it is in standby mode, the screen lights up for 10 sec, then goes off again.
This happen nearly every 3/4 times then it stops.
This is annoying when i'm sleeping, sometimes it wakes me up
Also clearing all apps and RAM does NOT work.
Also restarting the phone is only a temp. fix.
Anyone having the same problem or knows how to fix it, please share it with me
Thanks for reading!

What app did she last installed?
Until an hour ago, everything was fine. I received a cell from my friend i couldn't hear anything, i thought it may be network error, so i disconnected the phone, he called back again , even then i couldn't hear anything (i found hat my screen didn't went off as i placed the cell near my ear). so i rebooted my cell. again i called him, i noticed that i could not hear from earpiece, so i turned on the speaker and i could hear him, and even if i turn off the speaker and place the cell near my ears, the screen wont turn black.
even i factory formatted my cell, still the problem persists
i checked via cpu z and z device, my proximity is working fine, shows 3cm when i keep my hand near it ,and 100cm when hand is away...
ps. i googled a lot, still didnt find the solution.
edit : if i press hard on the earpiece, the proximity works and i can hear frm earpiece , but only for a sec of so , again the screen lights up and i cant hear from earpiece.
edit2 : i just put back my cover (a kind of hard plastic back cover) and now its working fine, i donno what all happened with my cell, but its really embarrassing for me to create this thread, I am really sorry. I request mods to pardon me and del this thread.
edit3 : the problem is back, and i think its an serious issue
help is really needed.
proximity sensor has nothing to do with the 'hearing' part...... it just turns the screen off...
are you on stock?
