I see in a lot of threads ppl asking to port ROM's.
So instead of asking and waiting, you can do it yourself actually.
It's nothing more than replacing/overwriting files&folders.
This is what worked for me. I'm no expert, I figured this on my own. So it
may or may not be all correct. Feel free to correct me, I'm happy to learn
These are folder/files you have to copy from mini ROM to ROM you're porting:
in /etc replace:
sensors.conf
hw_config.sh
pre_hw_config.sh
in /etc/firmware delete .hex files and copy your own.
in /usr replace:
keychars folder
keylayout folder
[it's for hard and soft keys]
in /system/lib replace:
/hw folder
[contains the files which control the sensors and lights such as GPS and
the accelerometer]
>>>build.prop<<<
You have to change ALL SK17, ST17, WT19 entries to ST15i. Or the other way around ofc.
It's best to have a mini build.prop side by side and just do some copy/pasting

ppp, wifi and vold.fstab isn't need to replace.
From the firmware folder, you need just to delete the hex file/s, and copy your own.
And the last thing you need to edit the build.prop /ex: all SK17 lines to ST15/
Is there any other files to have to replace for the Mini Pro?

Mini Pro needs the keyboard-config folder in /system/usr
And almost forgot, mini pro has another /*mini,active and lww has the same*/ cam flash file in GB /system/usr/semc/camera.

What do you mean by the "hex" files? Also, in the build.prop (for example porting from LWW to Mini Pro) do I have to edit every single ST15 to SK17?

yep... I forgot to add build.prop completely. I copy/pasted this in (a hurry obviously) from my post elsewhere.
That's also why I've wrote to replace ppp, wifi, vold.fstab
Thanx for your heads up!
Mini, active and lww has LM3560_00_flash, the mini pro has LM3561_00_flash.
The hex files are:
Mini: touch_smultron_sony.hex
Mini Pro: touch_mango_hitachi.hex, touch_mango_seiko.hex, touch_mango_sony_type1.hex, touch_mango_sony_type2.hex
Active: touch_satsuma_hitachi.hex
Lww: touch_coconut_tpk.hex
In /system/etc/firmware
I have done everything you guys had said
Now, if I flashed the ported ROM (That I did), it should work, right?
Obviously there are going to be problems but everything should be okay and no brick phone?
Thanks

wouldn't it be easier for you to just flash a rom which already has a multitouch in itself? you already rooted your phone, there's not much you can do wrong, and you can always restore if you do your backups on time
edit: plus, custom roms are in many cases much better than stock

We must have to flash it through cwm and then edit the build.prob.
If we move all the files to their respective location then while moving files to system/framework the framework.apk will be replaced and then it will start force close the rootexplorer and we wont be able to set its permission to 644!! Thus framework will get changed and we will be unable to change its permission and also we cant open setting and many other things that are framework dependent!!! finally we need to factory reset or reinstall the rom!
It happened with me so I'm warning you!!!
So just flash the file then after edit the build.prob using cwm as this app integration needs to replace the framework!!

I´ve read many post of people looking for a solution for the video-recording HD after install some FXP mod ROMS. With no reason, sometimes it works for some people and sometimes don´t. After reading many post, it seems that if you update from a FXP before than FXP_46, you got camera working well, but for the people that come from FXP_47 and above, the video-camera freezes constantly.
I have found a post talking about that here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1285977&page=17.
Well, you have to replace TWO files: "Camera.apk" from /system/app, and "libcameraservice.so" from /system/lib , after put the right permissions on these files: Owner:read and write, group:read, others: read. Do it with Rootexplorer app for example, look like this: http://compixels.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/Vending-Android-Root-Permissions.png . Reboot and voila, HD video recording perfect!!!!.
Where are the files? here: http://www.mediafire.com/?7v32a2j1nph3zvz .Thanks to "seaton" XDA-user for the update files.
Perfect Xperia Mini ST15i FXP_50 until...radio FM worked...
(Delete the other post in ray development, dont know how).
Good find. Wrong section.
I noticed that the audio recording is low, is this normal?
Thnxz ...
Hey do u kno any way to hav stock camera on CM?? .. I mean I tried checking in the .ftf file but I cant open .sin files

Use SIN2IMG then use unyaffs on the img.
All in a pack here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=547843&d=1300707835 .
Read: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=952732
hey i tried copying it with root explorer but it stops me from doing it as its only readable file .so I tried with es explorer .. but the video is still the same no hd
And the sin converter how does it work I tried giving it commands to locate my .sin files but it stops working(I am using win7 32bt)
1.- Use rootexplorer, and MOUNT the files in read and Write mode, R/W!!!, not only read. Change the files and change permissions, reboot and check the camera.
2.- Search posts in xda, there are many about extracting "sin" files. Got no more info.

Someone with mini have to help you. But since no one replying, and to save your time from searching all over the web;
To know which apk that has been modified, open the mod that you have applied using archive apps (winrar should do if you are in windows) and see what apk is inside (generally it should be framework-res.apk and/or SystemUI.apk)
To revert back, one of the way is to extract that apk from stock fw file, copy to your /system/ then change permission rw-r--r-- (if you dont know what it means, just refer to any apk inside /system/app/ permission's, they are all the same generally for /system/app/ and /system/framework/ ). Then, move it to appropiate folder replacing the current file (SystemUI.apk into /system/app/ for example. Better to replace systemui.apk first before framework-res.apk to avoid unexpected fc in the process)
Once done, reboot.
Other ways, ask anyone to make cwm compatible zip file for you to revert back to original or wait for someone to post the apk's here for you.
Thats a very good lessons actually, do a backup first before doing/modifying anything. Dont just simply flash any zip file, see first whats inside, backup whatever files that is affected by that zip to your sdcard is the fastest way (but not 100% reliable compare to make a backup in cwm.
Anyhow, good luck. cheers fren.

Hi guys
as the title says, how can I change the background (often blue one) when you view the settings, contacts, etc?
I know it's something about the framework-res.apk, res/drawable-hdpi/semc_bg.png. But I think there's more to edit.
I've got the image to change, my problem right now is what respective files to change in the framework-res. and also how to install it to the phone
Can someone help me? a nice step-by-step process will help me alot, especially for a big noob like me
Thanks a lot, in advance
Replace the semcbg.png file in the semcgenericUxpres.apk
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
Thanks dude ^^ You sure it's this one? none at framework-res? how to edit it , and bring it back to the phone?
there has 2 option to do this..
1-use PC/laptop (winrar/7zip,,,and the new image)
2-use your phone (root explorer,,and the image)
with pc/laptop edit the ***.zip (rom) file
just replace all of semcbg.png every where I mean on framework-res.apk
and other framework (i'm not sure which rom and/or sometime other rom has extra framework-res.apk) (that why u i told u to replace all of this thing)
and for the update also
(maybe u use it...like 'screenshoot.zip' it containing it own framework)
goodluck buddy!
semc_bg.png is located in two files, framework-res.apk and SemcGenericUxpRes.apk. Location for that two files is system/framework. In each of that two files u have two semc_bg.png backgrounds, for normal and for landscape mode. Location of that backgrounds in each of previous .apk files is res/drawable-hdpi and res/drawable-land-hdpi. U can edit apk files with 7zip on ur PC.
Enjoy!
Thanks guys!
for example, I finished all the editing stuffs
How will I put it back to the phone? since it is an .apk, will I install that thru package installer? or what? just put the new edited framework-res.apk/semcgenericuxpres.apk in the phone, and reboot and the effects will take place?
You will need to use Root Explorer. Follow these steps:
Make a backup of the original APKs frst!
Copy the edited APKs from your SDCARD to your /system folder. (Yes, the "/System" folder)
Use Root Explorer to set the permissions to RW-R--R--
Once the permissions are set, CUT the files and paste in "/system/framework"
It will ask if you want to overwrite, go ahead and overwrite the files.
Reboot.
Or find empty flashable zip file, put framework files in it and flash via xrecovery.
