Hard Brick/Black Screen 5.0 [SOLVED] - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

My 5.0 is hard bricked. Black screen, won't charge, won't turn on. When plugged into outlet or computer, still black screen.
I rooted it back in December with no problems until today. Decided to plug it into an outlet to charge it since battery was around 50%. After about 30 minutes, used it to check weather, etc., then I did a quick push of the on/off switch to turn off the screen. About 2 minutes later, went to turn it on and got the black screen. I decided to leave it plugged into an outlet for about 1 hour and still nothing.
Looking at other, similar, bricked posts for the 5.0, doesn't seem applicable to this completely dead device (wasn't installing a rom or doing anything unusual).
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Solved
I was able to fix the problem, without losing any data, by going into recovery. For others who may run into similar issues, I did the following:
Pressed the power and volume up key simultaneously for about 10 seconds until the SAMSUNG logo appeared.
Selected 'reboot system now' and pressed the home button.

Woke up, wireless wasn't working, turned off, now it won't turn back on

So this morning after watching several videos online last night, on my non-rooted nook, the wireless wasn't working.
When I would try and go into the B&N wireless settings screen, it would do nothing (go black) or say that wireless is stalled (do you want to wait or force close). So I forced close, hoping it would reboot automatically.
Well, I tried to turn off the device and the screen went black but the backlight stayed lit like it was supposed to be on for several minutes after I had powered down.
Eventually I got the blacklight off (it might have just gone off by itself), but now it won't turn back on.
The battery was at 30% when I tried to initially power it down.
I haven't tried the power and n button 30 second cycle, because I don't want to lose what I have on it. Any ideas of how to get it back on, without factory reset?
I can remember some other issues like this were reported. I believe one solution was to let it charge a few hours and attempt to power back up. Not sure if this will work for you, but give it a shot.
Plug in Charger (Might wake it up).
Connect USB to computer (Might wake it up).
Hold in power button 20 seconds to power off then power on.
The last option just worked for me for a black screen (Loop?) issue.
When that has happened to me (and it has), I held down the power button for about 30 seconds. Then let the unit sit for a couple minutes. Then held the power button down for about 5 seconds. Eventually, it always started back up.
30 second hold
The 30 second hold and wait worked well. Thanks.
Glad everything has worked out for ya!

[H] Stuck at flash screen then blanks out

Here's my story: Was Running Hyperdrive RLS 19 and attempted to upgrade to RLS 20. I was running CWM 1.0.3.5 as my bootloader and had switched to a high capacity SD card that couldn't do FAT32, so it couldn't mount. Moved update.zip to internal storage and everything appeared to install just find in Aroma. After the initial installation it goes to the first flash screen (which says Samsung Custom and a picture of a padlock) and then the screen goes blank. I took out the battery after waiting 15-20 minutes after the screen went blank the first time.
Here's where I'm at: After I insert the battery, the flash screen comes up and goes dark immediately. I've tried holding Home+VolUp+Power which gets me some blue text above the flash screen, but still goes blank. One time I was able to make it to the actual OS, but it went blank and shut off shortly after. I was thinking it was a battery issue, but the battery read 67% or thereabouts before everything went dark. Additionally, the charging light isn't working when the phone is hooked up the the charger. I assume it's not charging, but I have no way to test that.
Here are the things I've tried:
booting with/without SD & SIM cards
Replacing battery with new one
Letting it sit all night
Inserting battery while holding Home+VolUp+Power
Inserting battery while holding VolDown - This gets me to a new screen, but shuts off after a couple secs
All of these yield the same thing. Any thoughts or help would be much appreciated. I'm pretty certain that I'm going to need to bite the bullet and get a new phone soon.
TLDR - Phone is going blank after 1-2 secs after botched rom flash. Tried a bunch of stuff. Am I SOL?
Can you get into "Download Mode"?
Power off the phone completely by removing its battery for 5 seconds.
Re-insert the battery back into its place.
Press and hold Volume Down, Home and Power buttons, all at the same time.
Release the buttons only when the ‘Warning!!’ message appears.
Next, press Volume Up button to confirm that you wish to enter Download Mode.
Your device will now show a green Android with the ‘Downloading… Do not turn off target’ text listed under it.
That’s it, now you can connect your device with your PC after you launch ODIN.
Thanks for the reply, but the screen still blanks out. After leaving phone on the charger all night the battery is totally drained and won't even turn on. May go into a store later this week to see if they have any suggestions. Otherwise I think it's time for a new phone. Thanks again for the tip.

[Q] Is my phone dead?

I woke up this morning and my phone was working fine. The alarm on the phone woke me up. Put my phone in my pocket, and went to work. When I got to work, I pulled my phone out from my pocket and it wouldn't wake like its supposed to when pushing the power button. Just a black screen. I tried restarting it by holding down the power button until all 3 lights on the buttons stop flashing, but i get nothing. The phone vibrates when doing that like its starting up, but nothing on the screen. I tried restarting numerous times, power button, power button + volume down, and still nothing so I left it alone because I was busy at work. Went back to the phone a few hours later and tried restarting and it booted up and the phone ran like normal. My texts and emails from that morning came flooding in. I was using it off/on until I went out for lunch. Same thing, put the phone in my pocket, went to grab some lunch, pulled it out and it was dead again.
Right now I still get nothing on screen, and if I hold the power button for 20 seconds or so the lights on all three buttons still flash and once I let go, the phone vibrates.
I plugged the phone into my computer and 'HTC Android Phone USB Device' and 'HTC Android Phone USB Device' show up but nothing else.
No battery charging light when plugged in.
I've left it charged for a few hours and will leave it charging overnight to see if it does anything. The battery was almost full charge when all this started happening.
I tried using adb devices, but it doesn't list anything.
I was running Sense 5.5 For the HTC EVO LTE - V3 since it was released almost a year ago.
Recovery was TWRP-Recovery-2.8.0.3-jewel-CPTB ( I updated to this a few weeks back after looking to play with some new ROMS but did not have any issues flashign this or since flashing it)
I was unlocked via HTCdev method
I don't remember going s-off but can't say for certain if I did or not
Tried the official RUU but can't connect with the phone.
HTC Sync says it can't connect and to unlock and reconnect (I do use a PIN) or check phone to accept HTC Sync Manager's request.
I tried hooking it up to an MHL -> HDMI adapter to see if there was any video but the TV just says no HDMI input.
Any ideas or pointers that I could possibly try would be appreciated. I read a lot of older threads about this phone having issues similar when it was released, but I've had no problems with it in the 2+ years I've had it. Maybe its just dead and time to upgrade I guess.
Sorry for the long post, if you read through all this, Thanks!
Did you try holding power+both volume buttons down for two minutes?

Yea. Yesterday I tried it as well. Power only, power + volume down, power+volume up, power + both volume buttons. It would do the 15 or so initial button flashes, then after two minutes and I let go, it would vibrate once but then nothing else.
Last night before going to bed, I plugged the charger in/out a few times and eventually the charging light came on, but the phone/screen didn't power on or anything. I woke up this morning and the light was off. I played with it for a bit by trying the various power + volume button combinations to no effect. Oddly enough, I get to work this morning, do a Power + both volume buttons a few times and it boots up? Checked and battery is at 73%. I plugged it in to the computer and its charging, charging light comes on, the computer recognizes the device and I can access both internal and sd storage., and adb devices also lists the device. I'm afraid to let the phone display shut off for fear it might not come back on. Lol.
Would this have anything to do with the ROM or Recovery? Should I reflash? Like I mentioned, I've been running this phone for the last year on the same ROM. The phone might just be on its last legs.
I rebooted to the bootloader and checked:
Unlocked
Jewel PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
CID-SPCS_001
HBOOT-2.10.0000
RADIO-1.13.11.1105
OpenDSP-v33.1.0.45.1128

Bootloop

Hey, so, firstly I have a blue life one x. I love the phone and haven't had any problems until now.
I got an android update and my phone restarted, which has happened with the last two updates I got, so I didn't think anything of it. However, my phone was practically dead when this started and it restarted and got to the screen where it says "Android is starting... Optimizing application 1 of 143"
It would get to around 100 and turn off, restart and get to about 100 and turn off again.
I googled around and found a thing called bootloop. By what now seems to be a stroke of luck, my phone eventaully charged to about 40% and I got it to turn on and everything was fine but a few days ago, it died again and I ran into the same problem.
I went back to the boot loop instructions and tried it to no avail.
My phone has a fixed battery, so removing it wasn't an option. I left of the phone off the charger for 30 minutes and held the power button for two minutes(to discharge any remaining power?). Plugged it back in and it went right back to trying to boot back up and optimize apps.
I then removed the case, detached the ribbon that connects the battery to the board, held the power button for two minutes and let it sit for 3 hours. I connected the ribbon, plugged the charger back in and it instantly tried to boot up back into the optimizing screen and turned off.
I did all this again but left it for the past two days and now its back to rebooting over and over...
Things of note:
The light indicator turns red when the phone is connected to a charger, whether the battery ribbon is connected or not.
When it displays the blu splash screen, the optimizing applications screen, or recovery mode, the light indicator is off.
I can get into recovery mode, but I can't do anything before the phone turns off and reboots again.
Any help would be appreciated!

Serious problem - Well elaborated. Mido not booting. Urgent help required.

I was on the latest MIUI (9.something), boot-loader unlocked, redwolf recovery (v27), last seen battery was ~50% charged (before going off).
And, I was using my phone. Suddenly screen goes off and nothing comes up. I tried to restart, it doesn't work.
Finally I googled the problem and tried these things:
1) Press power button 5 times, then try to start the phone by long pressing power button.
Result: Screen open up, that initial screen with MIUI logo, I keep the button pressed, screen goes off and instantly starts again with booting started. Now, as soon as boot finishes, that *low-power* sound comes and it switches off.
2) Press power button 5 times, then try to start the phone by long pressing power button. This time when the screen comes up first time, I press (vol-up + power) to boot to recovery.
Result: As expected. That screen goes off and instantly another screen comes up with the recovery splash screen. Recovery comes up. There on the top, it shows two weird stats: (CPU temp 105 deg C, battery 0%).
3) Press power button 5 times, then try to start the phone by long pressing power button. This time don't press anything on the first screen.
Result: The screen goes off and that's it.
Some weird symptoms worth knowing:
1) Whenever I plug the charging cable (either with charger or, laptop) it just do not boot, neither to system nor to recovery.
2) The micro-USB port is damaged I guess. Last time (a day before all this), I tried to connect phone to my laptop but the socked seemed lose. It was just not connecting, rather fluctuating a bit.
3) Whenever I plug the charging/data cable (either with charger or, laptop) while booting or, while in recovery it suddenly switches off.
either your battery got badly damaged, or your device got fried.
First, I'd agree on the first commenter and support you taking the device to any android service center to check whether your battery or phone got fried. If it's done and proved nothing is wrong with my battery/phone I'd buy an EDL deep flash cable (I bought one for dirt cheap, 5 dollars) and try to solve my problem via deep flash, edl emergency download mode. There are tons of how to do tutorials on the official Xiaomi forums. Good luck with that, my friend!
I've updated something. Please see it.
How would I use edl if port is not working properly? See the original ques. again. I've updated it.
