You assume full responsibility for flashing this. It is the Stock Kernel (from the UCLD3 leak) with modified initramfs to support bootanimation, adb root, adb bash and init.d (via busybox run-parts).
TIPS
Click to collapse
This is mainly targeted for ROM cooker's or if you want to flash the UCLD3 ICS Kernel. Although custom kernel is not possible till Samsung does the source drop (probably after the official release), but there is a whole lot of tweaking that is possible with init scripts. I like using this mechanism then baking it in the init.rc.
For init.d support:
* busybox must be installed. and init script should be located in /system/etc/init.d
* bootanimation: drop the bootanimation.zip in /system/media.
* The init script execute last so you can override a lot of kernel parameters. (And yes, there are a LOT of tweaks you can do with the stock kernel).

Wonder Why?
I flashed this on top of the collective's beta 2 rom release. I don't know why but my Quadrant scores went from 3100 to 3500, not that benchmarks matter, but they sure jumped up.
And the bootanimation works perfectly. Ty very much!
bootanimation no go , I still see the android thingy ,
tried both bootanimation.zip and sanim.zip
Edit others got it working .. dunno what I did wrong .
Hey man bootanimation works! IDK what u r doing wrong! Try bios boot animation from N7000 here!

Because OP is releasing kernel not some scripts! If you want to run init.d U have to get busy box installed and put ur init.d in etc folder with appropriate permission!

Future tweak to your custom Kernel
Your custom kernel is being used in The Collective - The Unofficial v2.0 Beta 4 ROM. It's great with the exception that any ICS leak does not seem to like left handed people TouchScreenTune, seemed to work great for me on GB to fine tune my s-pen responses. Unfortunately this is a requirement:
Custom kernels: app requires kernel with KALLSYMS, so ask developer of your kernel to include this in his config when building kernel: CONFIG_KALLSYMS=y, CONFIG_KALLSYMS_ALL=y
Please!Please!Please!
Well I asked him to do what I needed so now he is done with this project! Because he does not own a note! He might do it but no promise!

You're building this yourself from source code?
Or just modifying other phone's binary to work with the Ray?
If compiling from source - are you publishing your mods anywhere etc?
I'm still learning how to build/compile for the Ray, so interested in chatting about your work here.
Thanks!

That's the question because all the roms based in CMX10 have CWM recovery. Anyway thank you very much Fera for your work, I'm gonna test it un your v23 right now :fingers-crossed:

We could do it manually (copy file an do some term commands)

What ROM and kernel?
What are your settings (min/max, i/o)
More smooth than what? (clean ROM, Seeder, CrossBreeder, ?)
What is it that you find to be more smooth? (Apps starts faster, data in app loads afster, switching apps, screen response, etc.)

Just uninstall the seeder apk (if you using seeder apk) or manual delete seeder in init.d (system/etc/init.d) folder and rngd binary in system/xbin if you are using rngd binary that was provided by Ferakernel V3.6 Stock GB.
