Is it using tar as the storage method? There is some issue with CWM not being able to do an Advanced Restore because of file incompatibility or some such, at least this is the case on the MyTouch 4G Slide with CWM 5.0.2.7.
Havent been able to flash Leedroid. Each time installation aborted then recovery crashed folowing this.
Tried to flash this on (software identical) 2 flyers, one succeeded, one failed (stuck at HTC logo).
Haven't tried any options though, because my current rom works just fine!
Latest Leedroid cannot be flashed using this. OneXXL and drewgaren ICS can though.. So I wonder where the problem is located.
Missing the last "L" in local (first adb command) for those who cute and paste.
/data/local/...
Not sure if I am misunderstanding or not, but it doesn't seem like this is a CWM release... Why this over touch capable?

No, this is a port. It isn't official.
Anyone else having issues with this recovery and Leedroid HC 4.3.0?

Personally, using version 5.0.2.0, I haven't seen any issues, but I've seen people post up that they have to revert back to version 4.
What issues were you seeing in the custom recovery? Did it not boot? It booted but gave errors when loading .zip files? What errors?
The more information you're able to provide the better we can help troubleshoot!
Hope that helps!

Yea I think he is using a version 4. It wouldn't boot at all it would just seen to skip recovery even when holding power and volume combination from boot. That's it it just wouldn't recognize it. Its a cdma on sprint. Not sure of the hboot version. Will post it maybe later today.

Just have him flash TWRP using this method:
http://androidforums.com/evo-3d-all...lash-recovery-image-via-fastboot-sd-card.html
or have him put the TWRP recovery on his SD card and get Flashimage gui from the market and he can flash it that way.
This video shows you how to flash roms with custom kernels:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDAqJ1nwLps
Make sure you have clockwork 4.0.1.4 otherwise it wont work.

So, you installed the ROM Manager app, and then just flashed the Recovery through it? Wiped anything? It's been a while since I've used it... What I mean to say, is it safe to just run the App, flash the recovery through it, all without losing anything on my phone in the process.

think it has something to do with where they are stored... i just cant seem to find the option..
Lemme know if it works all the way
It's because of the sdcard is mounted as sdcard2.

the backups are stored on sdcard2.. so i guess there will have to be an update for rom manager again,
You must do a backup option to the internal storage for it to show up in Rom manager.

No, I wasn't aware or sure how I'd do that.
To boot into recovery using only my device, I have to have removed the PH.zip file from my SD card to bypass bootloader...but I need the PH.zip to complete the restore.
And I think my version of Amon Ra is up to date
I've had no issues with it before...

AmonRa restore confirmation of process
For a AmonRa restore, do I just boot into recovery and tell it to
nand restore? (do I need to separately extract the boot.img and
flash it with fastboot)? I am uncertain due to unlocked but s-on status
what recovery could restore, does it do the things one normally has to
flash through fastboot / hboot? I'd expect that the /system restore would
have the right kernel modules so they should match once all the parts are
restored. AmonRa is aware of /sdcard vs /sdcard2 (for where to look for
backup directories / files), right? Working all with Gingerbread versions.
I'm waiting for supported release of ICS and Dev support for differences.
For now, Gingerbread does what I need it to do.
while I understand the thinking behind why the change, i(to external
storage name), its still annoying that so many apps look at /sdcar
(internal) instead of /sdcard2 (external) .
Thanks

So I recently rooted my phone and I tried to install the CM 10.1 mod. I did everything correctly except I didn't backup my original rom. So now the custom rom won't boot up because it gets stuck at the HTC startup screen and stays there. I went back into the twrp and tried to re-install the custom rom and again it didn't work. Now I went back and all my files are gone including the custom rom! So basically I think that the phone is booting because there is nothing on there. I tried to change the recovery image back to the original htc rom according to htcevohacks.com and i tried doing a factory reset but it didn't work. is it possible to fix this if so how? Thanks.

If you can get into twrp you can mount usb storage and put the Rom zip back on and the reason it won't boot is because you are s-on you need to fastboot flash the boot.img first

ok so as you guys said I can put the rom back on and install it and I have tried it. I got the initial set up of the new rom but the touchscreen doesn't work. I tried 2 other roms too and the touchscreen doesn't work on all of them. Do i just have to keep trying out roms? If you guys could post any roms that you have tried before that'd be great. I just want my phone to run something right now.
Try running a ROM based on the 3.16 OTA such as ViperROM or MeanBean. What version of TWRP are you on?
Also note if you use either of the ROM's listed above, they have S-on kernel installers. Just follow the installation instructions.

Give it a shot. The 3.16 OTA included a touch panel driver update. If you have the updated driver you can only run 3.16 base ROM's and also must use TWRP 2.4+, otherwise, your touch panel won't work. If you gain S-off you can downgrade the driver and run whatever ROM you want.
Once S-off you don't have to fool with flashing the kernel separately, either

So according to the MeanBean developer the kernel installer is built in, so all i have to do is flash the .zip file and it will take care of everything correct?

I think, if I recall correctly, you have to flash the ROM zip twice. After you flash the first time, you will be prompted to flash it again.
