I was wondering if there was an app that would give a virtual home key as my home or set up a button to go to there, search, back and settings buttons on the bottom of the screen do not work for some reason any suggestions?

If you are rooted then you can try this app out http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...psyKBw&usg=AFQjCNEqdozuMX3yXQN9zIt2ZAO6X_XEuA
This second app lets you perform gestures on your screen instead of button icons on your screen https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chukkapalli.zMooth.free&hl=en

Hello All,
short history:
I dropped my phone the glass shattered but the touchscreen and every button was still working.
Took it to a repair center, they fixed it up but now my back button isn't working. The menu button is working but the back button is just refusing duty.
Also the keys won't light up anymore, which makes me think that there may be some kind of software trick.
Taking it back is not useful feedback .

First of all it doesn't work. -phone buttons works, home works, other buttons just don't do anything.
Second of all thats not even close to a solution.

Are you talking about the capacitive buttons (the ones beside the home button)? If so then they should automatically turn on when the button(s) are pressed/touched and then turn off automatically after few seconds of being idol. If you want them on permanently then I am not sure on how to do that, but doing so would use significant battery anyway.
You just have to edit the hw_config.sh file in system/etc
Find the line something like
Echo 500 @ button backlight (or something like that)

did you close the application or just pressing your home button and re-opening the apps ?
in some case, the apps will read your action pressing home button like the exit button, so the apps just killing itself

Did u press the hm button or the back button? If home button, when u switch over to it, it shld resume instead of restarting the app. However if u press back button, when u switch over to the app. It will be new instead of resuming. Rmb if u wan multi task, press hm button. And when u wan to return back to the app. Hold the hm button and find the app and press it. Dun open it thru the apps place.

On my old Motorola photon Q 4g, I could use the flash as a light. With this phone it lights the screen as the light. Using flashlight fun (free version). Are there any flashlight apps that use the camera flash as the light source?

This is the app I've used for years on all my phones.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devuni.flashlight
Download apex launcher, long press screen, add shortcut, activity, scroll down to settings, look for torch or flash light option, select it, press the shortcut, enable the feature.
Now whenever your screen is off hold in the volume button and you have a flashlight
Thanks for the help. Went with tiny flashlight

removing the stock launcher removes the stock flashlight widget
