Hi!
I love how neatly Google Voice Typing works for English. But when I try to dictate on my native language, Spanish, it won't recognize commands such as "question mark", "comma", or things like that. If I say them in Spanish, it will write the whole thing, ie: "Signo de exclamación"...I just want it to be able to transcribe it to a "!" sign, a "?", etc. I also attempted to say them in English (while dictating Spanish), it will just get confused.
Do you guys know what's going on? How could I fix this? I have a Galaxy S2 running Resurrection Remix v1.8 (ICS 4.0.4).
After a few months, I still couldn't figure this one out. Could somebody help me?
Thank you!

I have a problem with the spelling correction build within ICS. I’ll try and explain as good as possible.
Device: Samsung Galaxy Nexus
Android: Stock, unrooted, 4.0.1
Build: ITL41
My system setting is set to English while my keyboard/input language is set to Dutch. I prefer it this way since it’s much easier to look up problems and answers with English as a system language then Dutch (should a problem arise, the chances someone has asked it somewhere online in English are ‘a bit’ larger). However most of my texts are to Dutch friends, so the input language is Dutch. So far, so good.
If I mistype a word, the auto-correct does correct the word to a Dutch word. If I type words correctly, the auto-correct does nothing (and rightfully so). However, here’s my problem. The correct word remains correct, however ICS feels the need to underline it in red, showing it’s wrong. Touching the ‘wrong’ word gives suggestions for correct words, all of them in English.
Is there anyone who knows how to have the system language and the input language be two different languages, yet not have the spellcheck use the system-language?
I hope I’ve explained it clearly, such things are always more clear in your own head then when you type them out!
(If this has previously been discussed, my apologies, I couldn't find it)
Anyone? Having the same issue here. Thanks!
@ppdebie do you have the solution already?
Hi, I was toying around with google translate voice and have been pretty impressed that I can (clearly) say something then have it translate into another language. Since I work abroad quite often and sometimes get phone calls where at least some assistance with google translate would be really useful.
Is there a way that i can, in more or less real time, have words/sentences being spoken by someone on the other end of a phone call be translated using google translate? (just for clarification, if google translate was able to just take what was being said on the line, and then translate it to text that would be enough; i am not necessarily hoping [yet] for it to translate something someone says into spoken english as someone else speaks another language).
Any ideas would really be appreciated!
Cheers,
-Gaiko
Title is exactly what Im trying to do.
I have a GNex. But have my phone in German.
Because of this Google Search and Google Now are also in german.
And Google voice no longer talks back to me
Even though I have changed my setting(or so I think) to english.
Google Now still defaults to giving me search results for google.de
Is there a way I can keep my phone in german, but have my voice search talk and answer in english?
Thank you in advance.
This thread could be used for any language.
Maybe you could also have your phone set in spanish, but talk to it in english

I try since about one hour to get Google Now working on my Jelly Bean. I have CM10 with Stock-Kernel. When I ask "google now" about the weather, I just get a Google result but not the Weather-card for it. I tried to change the language to english, changed all possible settings in Google Now and did much other stuff too. Still didn't found a solution for it
I hope someone can help me
Thanks in advance!
Have you tried changing phone language to English
This I didn't tried yet. But I don't really want my whole phone in English
Hello there,
So as I didn't find any threads pertaining to Google Offline Voice to Text issues, I thought 'Great, I'm the one online with this kind of problem, there is probably an easy fix'
Setting: Google Offline Voice to Text, text messaging. Trilingual French English German. OS set up for Canada, English (For software I prefer the English interface for its greater practicality and generally greater usefulness).
Situation: when using Google Voice to create texts, no matter what language is selected, it always reverts to English. I click on the language selection, select French, start talking and hear the voice recognition immediately reverting back to English. If I reselect it again, it sticks, until I stop and restart it and then it's the same aggravation again.
It does not matter what language is selected on the keyboard. It ALWAYS goes back to English, as if selecting another language was an error.
Is there something I can do to work around this aggravation? It's already very poor at recognizing French as it is... English works great, but French is horrible. And I'm a native French Speaker!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have to go now but will be back at the end of the day. Thanks in advance for your help!
