I flashed this rom and it says I dont have root access. I used both a older CWM, and the 5504 beta 10 from team drh. I couldn't even update Superuser, any help would be greatly welcomed. Thanks

Try this it worked for me on a AOSP build on my phone. You can download it on the tablet or computer and side load the zip file. Do not unzip the file boot up into CWM and clear Cache and Dalvic then install the zip file and reboot. Wait for android to finish updating apps and should be able to regain su user.
Scratch that CWM wouldn't load the zip trying another way.

at this time it is something with the ROM so there is nothing we can do
edit: it is also going to be a while before any root fix...so i would say to try another ROM like team DRH's ROM....also i recommend not trying to fix the problem yourself because you can end up in a SOD(like i did) or even possibly hard brick

the method used to root the ROM was really bad and i cant seem to crack the ROM... i've been able to unroot it but when i try to reroot; the closest i come is to being able to open the superuser app( most methods dont get that far)

I've followed all the steps on the foru as to how to root my Tab (7510) but haven't gained root access. First, let me say that I've had my Galaxy Nexus phone rooted for more than 6 months so I'm not a noob to rooting.
I've successfully installed TWRP v2.2.0 recovery. Then, in TWRP I installed Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_10.1_root.zip. It successfully installed.
Once I reboot I see SuperUser and it will run. However, when I run Titanium Backup the app informs me that it can't obtain root access. I've also installed and run Root Checker Basic and it also says I don't have Root access.
Could it be that the zip file I installed was for Honeycomb? If so, where is the link to SuperUser for ICS?
Thanks for your help.
I have same problem. All seems to go well with Superuser app etc but root access fails.

sapper,
I solved it. As I suspected, I was using the Honeycomb version of superuser which wouldn't root ICS. I found the ICS superuser here. I installed it via TWRP and was granted super user access. Good luck.
Brilliant - fixed it for me too.
Thanks so much
TWRP help
Where did you guys find the TWRP 2.2.0 that works with the P7510? I can't find anything to use for recovery mode on mine. I go the the TWRP site and I can only get the the 2.3 page and they only support the Tab7.7, not the 10

Worked for me after installing the zip posted above
I updated my Note to JB 4.1.2 using KIES. After that I installed TWTR 2.5, and rooted my NOTE. Now I want to go back to stock Recovery, so I can reveive any future OTA updates, but I cannot find the flashable .ZIP anywhere. Does anyone know if it even exits? I googled and searched the forums everywhere but I can only find the Gingerbread recovery. If anyone knows where can I find the stock recovery for JB let me know.
Thank you
:good:
Just go back to kies and select firmware update again. It will unroot and reinstall 4.1.2. The only thing it won't do is clear your flash counter. But you'll be stock with the stock recovery again.
Just Stock Recovery

I was looking to just getting back the stock recovery without having to flash the whole ROM again. I have reinstalled the stock ROM before using ODIN, and that get's rid of the flash counter. What Im looking is for a way to:
a) install STOCK ROM
b) install CWR or TWTR, and install Root zip
c) reinstall the stock Recovery (I believe 3e) and keep root.
d) be able to install OTA update if it comes.
I dont want to have to install STOCK ROM whenever a OTA update comes out. Or maybe im mistaken, and reinstalling stock recovery breaks root?
Anyone knows if it's possible?
I don't think I we'll even see another update. Note is reaching EOL.
Even with stock recovery... the update will most likely fail because you're rooted.
recovery doesn't have anything to do with root either. Root is only for when booted into the os.
Instead of going to stock with Odin to get the update... how about just going to samfirmare.com and getting the Odin package of whatever update may come and just installing that with Odin?
That's your best bet. Tbh

Just because it won't be to 4.2.2 doesn't necessarily mean no more updates...
Could be a newer build of 4.1.2. ...
Sounds fair

With my wife, brother, and sister-in-law's Note 2's, were rooted with CF-Auto-Root, kept stock recovery, and were able to install the OTA update successfully. That's 3 Notes, so it's not a fluke, or a one-off. They lost root, but was easy to root again using CF-Auto-Root to get it back.
So I suspect that having the stock recovery can enable me to install a OTA update, if one comes to the NOTE 1. I love to keep it as simple as possible. I don't have any trouble getting the Odin update package, but that requires one extra step. Im just being curious why nobody has the flashable stock recovery.
I know there are a lot of threads on the outdated SU binary problem, but none of them could help. I just updated my evo to 4.3 via ruu and so far I'm liking it. But I tryed installing SuperSu and it said the binary was outdated. I've had this happen lots of times before and flashing the SU update.zip always fixed it. This time I tried and it didn't work. I've been looking for other ways to fix the SU outdated binary problem but nothing has worked. I checked and I am still unlocked and s-off, it wiped recovery so flashed the latest twrp version. I would really like to try sense 5 out but I don't want to give up root.
Thanks in advance
Somebody had a similar issue getting the latest version of SuperSU to install. Go check out the SuperSU thread and try an older version and see if it works. That seems to have fixed the problem the other person had recently.

Thanks for replying, I just flashed 1.43 update instead of 1.93 and it did nothing. Also is it significant that in twrp when I reboot it tells me I'm not rooted and asks me if I want to install SuperSu, wether I have it installed or not (does nothing if I say yes or no)
Make sure you are using the correct twrp for the updated partitions
Sorry I'm kind of a noob, so what twrp should I be using and what is the updated partion

Thank you guys so much, I didn't know the update required a modded version of twrp. I just flash supersu 1.93 with the new twrp and its working fine

Very good enjoy
I've lost root twice after flashing ROMs in TWRP. Here is the process I'm going through:
Flash 10b using the LGFlashTool.
Root using StumpRoot. Verify successful Root via RootChecker/SuperSU/BusyBox.
Use Flashify to install TWRP bumped (2.8.0.0, then upgrade to 2.8.3.0 using the recovery.img in this link w/ Flashify: http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...recovery-twrp-touch-recovery-2-8-2-0-t2966014)
Reboot and verify root again.
Boot into TWRP, wipe (tried factory reset and advanced cache/system/boot/data methods)
Install ROM (tried Resurrection 5.2.8 and Illusion 3.0).
Reboot, lose root.
I am new to the G3, but I've done many flashes on several devices throughout the years thanks to the folks on XDA. If someone could point out my error it would be much appreciated!
I don't know about resurrection but illusion comes with root disabled. Just flash the latest SU package.

BTW searching within the rom threads would have given you the answer faster than typing up this new thread.
I didn't see notes in the OP in either ROM thread regarding disabled root nor flashing SuperSU. Thanks for the quick reply.
you're not alone. I lost root on CM12 (o'1.5.15) and can't seem to get it back either. I was hoping your post was on that, but no avail. I have tried flashing su.zip latest from twrp 2.8.3.0 with no success.
----
turns out, bad zip and adb/apps disabled within dev options of CM12. might not be the same on the ROMs your dealing, but was my solution. FWIW.
Just download the latest SuperSU zip and flash it in recovery and you should have root back just check in developer options that root is enabled
Here's a link to the latest SuperSU zip

I am new to android and rooting so please bear with me. I used the LG flash to to downgrade from 12b and then I got TWRP and flashed Illusion and Gapps, but now it says I am not rooted and I cannot seem to get back into TWRP. Is my best option to start over using the flash tool? Is there a better lollipop rom that keeps root? This forum has been so helpful in the learning process so thanks in advance.

Wow. I'm such a noob. (facepalm) Thank you!
Yeah I'd also like to chime in on this a few weeks ago I went to try cm12 (was using illusion 4.0) and I also had root problems too
But then I've read twice in the last ten minutes that cm12 has deprecated supersu.
So basically it sounds like illusion 4.0 just hadn't updated enough yet to be like cm12.
I seriously thought my phone had major issues. Paired with the PA gapps cluster f... Yeah basically I haven't had to use roms for nearly 2 years.
Anyway thanks four this useful thread!
If you have a custom recovery installed you can't "lose root".
You can always get it back by flashing SU or whatever.
CM12 has root as an option in the developer section of the settings.
Okay, I've been working on this all night and most of the morning. I upgraded my Sprint Note 3 via OTA to Lollipop (5.0). I attempted to root and my phone booted up and all of my apps stopped working--including System UI. I ended up just factory resetting. Somehow though, the root was successful.
Now I'm trying to install Clockwork Recovery so that I can Nandroid backup and install Xposed Framework. I'm having the hardest time find stuff for my phone. Is it that old that no one is updating stuff for the Note 3? Anywhoo, can anyone tell me the proper way to flash CW Recovery? I've tried all kinds of sources, but nothing is clearly indicated for my phone. I've even tried the ROM Manager and that soft bricked my phone.
Use TWRP 2.6.1. You will have better success.

I have to wipe cache every time I go into twrp 2.8.1.0. Or I get the ui errors if it gets past the Sprint screen.
I was on an older version but the backup won't restore.
use Chainfire's method,twrp 2.8.6.1 and SU 2.46

Which of Chainfire's method? Those were the ones I tried. I don't see anything on his site for SM-N900P with Lollipop.
You can find philz cwm touch that you can flashbwith odin. If your upgrading to lollipop xposed isnt supported right now. If you cant find the files let me known I keep them backed up and can upload to Dropbox.

By the way cf-auto root works great. You flash it in odin as well
the NH7 tar on chainfires site works on OC5
Thanks all...I ended up flashing TWRP via flashify.
I thought I saw somewhere that xposed beta version was working for 5.0.
