looking for some Tw apk's that will work on a vibrant with CM7.2. I have calendar, clock and task manager already, and I'm quite relieved to have that original samsung look, but I would really like to get my hands on the Phone, Contacts, Messaging and Camera/Video apk's. Help from anyone, anywhere would be much appreciated. Thanx!!

I'm unhappy with the dialer on the KaosFroyo v28, because it doesn't have the smart dial feature that 2.1 had.
My device is rooted. I realize that you have to replace the .apks in /system/apps. Which .apks do I need to replace? Contacts.apk? ContactsProvider.apk? Phone.apk? PhoneConfig.apk? Anything else?
Is it safe to push a 2.1 dialer to KaosFroyo v28? I like 2.1's stock dialer, unless I need to be running Sense. If it isn't safe, any recommended dialers with the smart dialing feature (not to be mistaken with speed dial).

Why not just download Dialer One from the market. Works great, has a couple of nice themes and free. Just set it as default after you install. Sense based .apks from the sense 2.1 ROMS won't work on Froyo v28.

I want to know who I can get the proper AOSP Apps running on my Darky Rom LPQ. I would just flash Bezke or a rom like that, but the Themes are just to much for me. I actually like the new big green battery bar and the signal icons they give you. Just like the AOSP Calender and Calc etc. like I had on Team ICS SGS back when I had my sgs1. I guess I can't be the only one having this question, but I didn't find it here as a thread yet.

I'm a big fan of Samsungs Hardware but never liked touchwiz. The hings that annoy me most are the launcher and the Email(Exchange) App.
Is there a way to use the Vanilla ICS pendants without switching completely to cyanogen (when it once will be available)? I would like too keep the few nice add ons by Samsung.

You could try an alternative ICS launcher such as Nova https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.launcher&hl=en. Hope that helps some.
An alternative launcher will definitely get you away from much of the touchwiz experience but you will still be stuck with Samsung's email, calendar, etc apps. Take a look in the SGS3 Themes and Apps section. I believe someone there has created a flashable zip to replace the Samsung stock apps with the ICS ones.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but, there is no way to truly have the CM10/Stock Dialer and Contacts be replaced in a Sense ROM like Viper, is there?
I don't usually have an issue with Sense stuff, but the tiny, pixelated Contact photos in the dialer, both when receiving and making calls, is ridiculous!
I tried using CM10 as a DD, but I don't think that ROM is quite there yet for the LTE, yet...

Check themes and apps for ics/jb dialer and instructions on how to install. It's not exactly ideal, sense framework has a lot of changes that hurt compatibility

Is there anyway to get plain vanilla ICS or JB or 4.3 (damn!!) dialer/contact apk to use on my s3?
I think TouchWiz really messed up with the contacts and dialer, I'm not so angst against other this much. But these are the basics of a phone.
I've tried exDialer it's better but still nowhere on the leaguse og Nexus 4.
