[Q] Heavy games - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

I noticed that when i play heavy games (like dead space), even I'd i clear cache (with adrenaline boost) and close other apps it still lags. In order to have the game running as it should o have to reboot the phone, so that there is nothing that can slow it.
Why does this happen? Shouldn't all be cleared by killing apps and clearing cache?

Use Adrenaline ROM, probably has something to do with background processes.

But isn't there a way to reset background processes without rebooting?
Sent from my Galaxy Ace on Cm 7.2

I think nothing can solve this problem unless you uninstall some apps..... apps slow down phone.. so better clear your phone first if you want heavy gaming
Sent from my Galaxy Ace using CyanogenMod 7.2 Miracle Edition v4

Yeah, but it seems strange to me that nothing can be done to "simulate" a reboot, terminating all useless processes!

Our ace are cant run like that.game this is why some heavy games are for higher phone (armv7)
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium

First and foremost.. Ace is not meant for heavy games...they are mostly for armv7 as dredremon said..
Secondly...if it requires a reboot do it.. why cant u?

I can play NOVA and Modern Combat without lag

I can, and I do it! I was just asking for a fastest way to achieve the same thing! In addition, i was curious to know why this happens!
That's the base for improvement, isn't it? You ask a question, someone thinks about it and gives a solution/an answer which explains why a certain thing isn't possible! ;P

Oh man, lately people are always pissed off in this forum!
It was obviously an ironic comparison, sure as hell that there are GALAXIES between the 2 of them (got the joke? ..galaxies? ).
This was meant to explain that many people don't care about a little lag in a great game, as long as they can enjoy it... and standing to the economical possibilities they have.
I, personally, try pushing my phone over the limits day by day, because i don't have the money (ans the will) to buy a newer one, which will become outdated in a year or so.
I hope i explained clearly what is my thought.
Back on topic, my only real question was about knowing why it seems not possible to have the same performances obtained with a reboot by wiping background processes, cache, killing apps etc.
I don't think this is a stupid question but, if someone does, he is asked not to say the same things (Ace is not for gaming.. bla bla bla).
Thank you very much for your attention!

Selling my optimus one to buy galaxy gio? Worth it?

Title says it all.
Hey guys, I come from optimus one forum and want to ask questions and some opinions here since I can't find galaxy Gio forum.
Is it worth it? I'm so fed up of my O1 has some problem with multitouch axis and touchbug. I know theres a kernel for it but its custom kernel and it still doesn't fixed it completely.
I want to sell my optimus to buy gio. Gio has nearly same specs with ace except camera, ignore that since I don't really care with the camera. Is it worth it?
I see ace and Gio plays some heavy games like Gameloft perfectly and smooth unlike my O1.
I wonder if your ace and gio can be overclocked from 800mhz to 900mhz+? because my O1 can from 600mhz to 865mhz maximum.
So tell me your opinion. I know that ace and Gio has less ram than O1. What problem has you encounter with such a low ram? Or there is no problem at all?
Thank you.

For 2.3 gingerbread your background apps get closed a lot, that's all for ram. Overclocking not under development yet..
Edit, I'm referring to ace. Gio forum is not here.. I chose ace though because of the Turbo 800mhz.

Meh...gio has a smaller screen if i'm not mistaken. it's 3.2'' while ace has 3.5''. Also gio doesn't have a led flash, ace does have one and it's quite useful (for me at least). All in all there aren't many differences between the two but ace scores more points with a bigger screen, led flash and better design

I have both (well, my wife has the Gio, I have the Ace).
Ace has much better camera (Gio has no flash), and can take shots at night (though still not great photos).
Ace has slightly bigger screen, but same resolution - so Gio is actually slightly sharper screen.
Ace looks a bit nicer (IMO)
Ace seems more popular so there are more aftermarket accessories, and has a budding dev community (Gio has very little to no dev community AFAIK).
Gio appears to have less SOD's due to Wifi+sleeping issues (but I haven't tested the Gio too much in that regard)
Everything else seems to be the same (including the Wifi "Error" bug - at least with stock fw's on 2.2.1).
All other apps/etc/etc run similarly on Gio and Ace (with my limited testing).

Thank you for your comment and user opinion. And btw im not talking about ace, im talking about O1 vs Gio

well, bro , first of all ACE's processor can be overclocked upto 1.2 GHz stable, secondly ace doesn't have low ram, it has 470MB total ram with 278 MB for user and 192MB for OS, so ram is actually not a problem either, the only current problem with ace is that it still officially doesn't have ADOBE FLASH, without it Ace has no other problem, well, this is an ACE forum so we know about ace, but sorry, no data about Gio for your questions

I think the gio is excellent value for money, it's a fair bit cheaper than the ace, but very similar in spec to the ace. I can't compare to the O1 as I haven't used one.
Sent from my GT-S5830 using XDA App
Well i would never recommend you to shift from O1 to gio. Gio has no dev support !! O1 has a great dev support and i wonder why you want to shift. Gio also has low ram whereas your O1 has more ram and can be overclocked to perform well. If you were shifting to a better phone , then that would had made sence. But spending money and shifting to a completely same device with 0 dev support wont be a nice decision.

Thats not a proper rom :-\ . Tell one good reason why you want to shift to gio? And btw gio has SOD ( the phone turns off itself) and wifi problem too. O1 may have few problems but they have been fixed by the devs
Sent from my Galaxy ace using Tapatalk
Between ace and gio, i choose ace. For some silly reason. I don't like gio model, ace just looked like iphone. Although i'm not fan of iphone.
Second reason is, i want camera with flash, cause i never have phone with flash .

Im fairly new at modding, but my guess would be that they are different phones and even though they work of simular hardware the way they work is different. There was a project working on this but it was dropped. My guess is if it was an option they probably tryed it. You have an 800mhz cpu? Is it that much of a problem, for me the biggest problem is ram! The majority of the time this is what slows down the ace, and even that isnt a huge issue.

Not every chip is the same. You probably have some settings that you may have missed, and if not just uninstall it and play it normally.
Or, you can try a new rom.
Try clearing up cache and ram before starting teh game. Also did you try to o/c ur phone? It might help .

Where did you get that bull**** from? Nvidia? A CPU or GPU for that matter is NOT designed for gaming even if Nvidia tries to make everyone believe that. A processor interprets and executes commands, regardless of what they are for. Some are faster, others are better at multitasking, others have more commands. However it's safe to say that according to most OpenGL benchmarks Exynos shows Tegra3 it's place.

Never read so much BS in such a short time.
On my Galaxy s3 (int. edition) the games runs f*cking awesome without any lags on max graphic settings. Tegra3 is inefficient and only kinda comparable to the exynos4 chipset.
@topic starter.
I think the problem is the rom, maybe there are some special tweaks, that affect the gameplay experience on your phone in a negative way.
I play on GL8 Off. Rom, only rooted and some useless apps deactivated, without OC or stuff like that. Runs awesome, just like it should.
I would say, try another good rom, with better gaming reputation.
cheers

The idea is not to use custom roms, I prefer to use samsung roms as they're more stable and battery friendly in my experience. By the way, now I'm using the new XXELLC, it's extremely fast and it has a couple of new features... BUT the lag with some of the stock android apps like the phone, contacts or similar is still there. I mean, it's like it takes too much to load the app to the ram, because once the app is loaded, then it starts fast. I don't want to wipe the data because I'm too lazy to restore the apps and their data... lol

Yep, and voltage will make it more stable. Plus, stock means more likely to be less updated. Unless you are rooted you're almost certainly behind. Won't be able to take a hold of latest performance increases and fixes either.
Sent from my Galaxy S3 using Xda Premium. Long live the Galaxy S!
Voltage will only make it more stable if the cpu manufacturing defect is above the threshold for normal operations and Samsung's quality control failed to detect it (which is not that uncommen, cpu's are very hard to test, especially in such large numbers)
Usually crashes are caused by software.
Sammy-based roms can be more stable if eg they include a kernel with fixes/bypasses for bugs found in real-world conditions.
At one point Samsung will release a fix but with carriers and ota that may well take weeks to propagate.
