I have this issue when the phone is charging. The touchscreen responds very oddly. Sometimes it selects something else than what i selected. Phone slows down etc.

That would mean i lose all my settings + apps, dont i? Dont know whats the cause of this behaviour. I read about it before here on xda.

Are you using the Sony charger or some other charger?
I had a strange thing with two different phones from other people (Galaxy S and S2 respectively); when using a cheapo mini charger I bought from Amazon their touchscreen wouldn't react at all while charging, but immediately react again when unplugged.
My Xperia S didn't do that however.
Maybe it's something like that in your case...
Yeah you do but if it solves the issue its fine i think... Its definitely not hw related else the phone wouldnt slow down... I think il try a factory reset tomorrow

I'm using the official Sony charger that came with my phone:EP850. Will try factory reset tomorrow, thanks guys!

I had this with my X10 Mini Pro while on USB. Didn't had this problem with AC charger, X10 MP neither XS
Ur lucky that u only get that when using the charger.. For me its just the whole time that its lagging etc when i wanna go back from an app to the homescreen byusing the home button it will just vibrate anddo nothing till i touch anywhere or bring up the app switch ( multitasking) and thats just annoyin and unacceptable...

and now it reset it self in stress
I'm asking:
WTF?!
Mine also resets itself now and again but mainly it crashes so I have to do a hard re-boot. I think it's because the phone simply can't handle the technology inside it

Highly unlikely.
More likely :
An app you installed is doing it. I had a live wallpaper that used to freeze up and reboot my phone, so I uninstalled it.

Possibly, but the reason I guess what I did is because I know tons of these phones that have had the same problem and even a lot of posts here on xda show the same problems aswell. So that's why I'm thinking it must be something on the phone originally rather than something that's been out onto it.

Feeling now like I have married a beautiful wife but she never stops nagging. ( ok I have and she doesn't just incase she reads this >:~} )
Had the yellowish tint and it was getting it worse then sent it off to Sony came back a month later with ICS installed but nfc broken and I use it all the time and getting FC even using contacts aaarrrrrggghhh if it goes back to them I may just give up and jump ship grrrrr
6 reboots and countless FC's and gave up installing the rest of my daily needed app's that never gave trouble before.
Just a *****ing post.

You can try installing ICS again using SEUS.. It may help

But would not bring much satisfaction cause one blow and its done!!!

just calm down and breathe, take a step back and youll see things much clearer.
Things like this can sometimes be easily fixed with one click of a button. Repair it with SUS.:fingers-crossed:
Just try repair using PcC or SUS, many issue can be fixed but just give it a go mate Gud luck

Oh brought back to stock few times and did a Sus as well but before did that went into config and this forced the nfc which is good but not the proximity which is real bad.
So now thinking of slow painful death on the phone drip of acid in the jack slot may do it >:~}

NFC has issues on the stock Roms. Try a custom Rom and see if it works better or even drop back to gb. Stock ice is buggy.

True, and not that it brothers me rooting and fixing, but really annoys me that we spend plenty of money like lemmings on devices that are really below standard.
It its usually the second version of all manufactures devices that the bugs are ironed out.
So now have to spend hours of my time fixing the crap that should not have been there in the first place. Companies are now out sourcing the support for their devices to the crowd. If only they would reduce their prices to match the poor support!

I have been having this problem since few days.
IT takes 3-5 tries to unlock my phone.
I tried everything -reverting to stock firmware, removing battery, removing memory card, etc.
I charged it once with a cheap charger and my problems started.
I've unlocked my bootloader so my warranty is now void.
Please help
I've read of problems caused by cheap battery chargers but I've always been casual about that
Seems it's time for me to be cautious while using a charger...
Sorry mate,I've no solution this time unfortunately! I'll keep you informed if I get to know anything on this

You are lucky man...your display is still surviving.
I once charged my phone via Samsung charger and my lcd was done away with...but don't worry about your bootloader...india hai...bootloader kya hota hai ye tak nahi pata hota yaha ke service centre walo ko...simple root tak to pata nahi hota...ha ha ha...just relock it by flashing the relock ftf and flash stock GB ftf and take it to them...and then show like you are a complete dumb who can't even install apps...and pretend like you know nothing how it happened.
I did the same thing and got my lcd replaced under warranty...but beware...if you don't mind your device lying there for a couple of months...go with it.
I got mine after 4mths.

Yeaah...just tell them u were updating firmware or repairing via pc comp and all off a sudden something(obviously u should not be knowing...bcoz u are a complete dumb) happened and the phone went dead...give it a soft brick...or just remove some system app so it goes into bootloop...but DON'T speak the word Bootloop...you know why...Ha Ha Ha.
If your device is bricked they simply repair it via pc companion...and since you already have relocked it...it will straight away start repairing it...hence they dont even think if it is locked or unlocked.

There is nothing to be done with the battery...relock the bootloader and try to repair via pc companion...and don't charge via non-sony charger. Also this may be kernel related. Playing with the voltages may be a cause..not to mention OC.

I had the exactly same issue with mine TWO days after purchase. Went right back, showed them the problem and got a new replacement on the spot.
I suggest you do the same. A mate of mine had the same issue with Xperia Z and now it just happened to me with Z Ultra...hopefully it's just coincidence and not a sign of a larger wide spread issue.

Apart from the fact that I don't understand how your phone could be off when you're posting with it...
Have you tried to reflash with the PC Companion software?
Or maybe with flashtool?
This is the one problem I don't want to face, buying my phone from abroad.
I know Sony will fix it anyway under warranty, but it will obviously not an immediate exchange...

Ecery single topic or post about this problem is about the 3G version, so I tend to think it could be that the FW wasn't that ready.
Let's just hope that the 6833 European versions will have these problems solved...

yeah, after seeing all these posts about this issue, I am definately going to wait until there is a "official" version released for USA carriers...
Strange, I went into a t-Mobile store today, to ask about the XZU, and they had an "plain" Experia on display, with the same problem....makes me wonder is this is a problem with alot of the current Sony phones..
Hi guys, I think i know what cause the issue, it's the auto lighting setting.
I tried with my wife phone and I off the auto lighting in display setting and the issue is gone.... Then just now when I try to on back the auto lighting, then the issue is back again...
Hope this info helps...

It seems that any way that's not the default one (i.e. the same way the phone shipped) interferes with something in the system...
Maybe that's something our devs could look in?
I mean, a 0 or a 1 in the wrong place (maybe triggered by the auto lighting on/off) could result in this issue...
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
did you touched "optimized backlight" ?
Activate it., and restart the phone (it will be long boot 1/2 mins)
After that don't touch optimized backlighting option. (when is switched off we all have a lock sods)

I was having this issue as well but it seems to have stopped randomly after a little. What I did was touch a magnet to the bottom on back and hopefully set it back in place. Hasn't stopped in over 24 hours. Another thing I'd recommend is if you're bootloader unlocked and you're turning you're voltage down to stop cause that could be the cause of it since the motor isn't getting enough voltage
