How do I uninstall programs or applications? My Note keeps doing a "forced shutdown" and I need to find out what program or application is causing it.
Settings>applications>*select the one you want*>uninstall
Thanks!!

settings/applications/ click the ALL tab.....scroll to the bottom and click it and unistall it. or use Tibu to manage your apps. you can remove them that way as well.
That did not work - I even cleared the cache and it updated it all right back.

Hello
I have an HTC One X which is rooted, and I am wondering is there a way (or an app) to uninstall other apps without going through the normal uninstaller?
It'd be much faster to select a load of apps and have the phone uninstall them automatically..
I'm asking here rather than the HTC One X area because this is relative to any Android phone.
Not sure how many apps you are trying to remove (or why for sure) but if your rooted you can use Titanium Backup for what you want to do. Just be careful that you don't unintentionally remove something you want/need.

I will try Titanium Backup.. Whenever I am on the Play store, I tend to install lots of apps and if I don't like them, they end up being left on the phone, so every so often I like to clean out apps I haven't used in a while.
Thanks!
EDIT: How can I select multiple apps, then uninstall them in one go?

TB has a bit of a learning curve and you can get into trouble quickly if you aren't careful but the bulk actions are under the check box on the top right corner of the app.
You also may want to consider a few alternatives in the play store like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kugoweb.uninstaller it looks more straight forward for what you are trying to do...just a thought

There are only the following options:
Un-install backed up user apps
Un-install non-backed up user apps
Un-insall all user apps
Un-install all user & system apps
Is there a way I can mark multiple apps to uninstall rather than uninstall by whether I have a backup or not?
I have tried a few alternative apps, but they all open up the uninstall thing and each one has to be done one by one, however I notice TB can uninstall apps without using that, so I'm asking is there a way to select mutiple apps manually with it.

Yes, any of the uninstall options you mentioned will allow you to check or uncheck the apps after you click RUN before it actually does anything. As I mentioned though you can get into trouble quite quickly if you uninstall something on accident. If you don't back up if make one before hand just in case.
If you start by clicking run on uninstall all user apps you get the check boxes to refine you're choices beforehand

Ah, I see now. I was worried that tapping that would just uninstall all user apps. I have already set regular backups, so I'm all ok there.
Just de-cluttered my phone with this,
Thanks for all your help!

Why does com.tmobile.pr.adapt keep insisting on requesting root once rooted?
My guess is....when they pull u up in grandcentral (troubleshooting) it tells them if the phone is rooted. W the my tmobile app they can see everything. Apps storage space. (Not individual pics or videos) even how much storage space you have left. I think it constantly runs in the background always asking until it gets it or the phone dies. I know its safe to uninstall I have on the g4 and v10.

If rooted, TBU allows for it to be frozen or even uninstalled. I went as far as removing all traces of T-Mobile bloatware

I use Rom Toolbox Pro to freeze backup uninstall stuff
A good app is "system uninstaller". It automatically keeps a copy of what ever you uninstall and reinstalls it with ease if ever needed. It also allows a batch uninstall.
I downloaded a few apps, however, I cannot seem to be able to uninstall them.
What's up with that? Can someone please help me?

Do you see the apps listed in the Samsung Gear Manager->Settings->Uninstall Applications ?
If you see them there, press the red "-" button to the right, it should ask you if you want to uninstall and if you press "OK" then it will uninstall it.
Note that companion apps need to be uninstalled manually from the phone, removing the GearS app doesn't automatically remove the Android companion phone (or at least i don't think it does).
No, these are apps strictly for the watch, installed to the watch, but don't give me the option to click any red "-" to delete/uninstall like other apps...?
Hi guys, so i got a new HTC Desire 826 and it has come with DU battery saver, AVG and a few other apps preinstalled and i know usually its not supposed to and when i try to find a way to uninstall, the uninstall icon is grayed out, any help as to how i can get these removed?
Thanks in advance.
You can always disable them as they appear to be built into the system. If you have root you can always google how to remove system apps and go from there.

Just curious, if you disable then restarting the phone doesn't enable them right? But if you force stop them then restarting the phone would enable them? Am i correct or i got it mixed up?

You are correct. Disabling is until either you reenable them or factory reset and force stop is until something wakes them back up(launcher, framework or other app).

First, what is app trash? Never heard of it. On Google Play, I see some silly app uninstaller called Trash for Apps. Is that what you are talking about? This is nothing that comes with LG phones.
Second, if you uninstall any app, it's gone. What is it you want to see after you uninstall an app? I don't understand. Do you NOT really want to uninstall it? Then don't uninstall it. If you uninstall it, it's gone. If you want it back, then reinstall it.
Third, in Nova launcher app drawer, I just long press an app and choose uninstall. It's gone. Or I can go into the Apps section and uninstall there.
Fourth, in Nova launcher, if I just want to remove an icon from desktop (but not uninstall the app), I just long press and click remove. That doesn't uninstall the app, it just removes the icon from the home screen. IF I want to put it back or move it elsewhere, I put another shortcut to desktop from app drawer. I assume most launchers work in similar fashion. If THIS functionality is what you are talking about, that's NOT deleting (uninstalling) an app. You are merely wanting to remove a SHORTCUT of the app from the desktop.
You need to explain more, because I really have no idea what you are talking about. And you use lots of exclamation points like we should totally understand.
that's what i'm talking about, it's specific to LG phones and yes, sometimes i need to uninstall for some reasons

Interesting. I have never seen that or used it. Yeah, it's only in Management folder on one of my US998 because I haven't yet installed Nova launcher on that phone. I hate LG stock skin and usually change it as fast as possible to Nova launcher with my own app drawer organization and icon packs.
Well, it says "apps will be permanently deleted after being in the trash for 24 hours." Maybe it means 24 seconds.
Since I only uninstall apps I really want to uninstall, I don't know what to tell you.
Are you trying to temporarily uninstall something but then want it back?
consider it like 'hiding' apps lol, my phone is shared and i keep installing/uninstalling... it's very useful for me I hope I can find a fix or I will have to revert back to Nougat

You can always root your phone and install private spaces no one can see. I hear teens in school have hidden apps and stuff that way.
Dunno. Still on my phone after Oreo update.

how does it supposed to work? You drag the app you are deleting over the trash icon or something?
I have it on one of my Oreo US998. I'll test it for you if I know how it's supposed to work.

just uninstal/delete any app on your phone then go to trash can too see if it's in there
Deleted one and nothing in that folder. Never tried to use it before this, so I don't know.
In Nova launcher if u long press an app in the app drawer you can hide it. (Long press until menu shows up > edit > untick the box that says apps)
