Some time back, I read abt the Value pack update on Samsung Galaxy S.
One of its features includes taking Pictures while shooting a video without disrupting the Recording. As both the phones are forever stuck at 2.3 and are from Samsung, is it possible to port this feature to our galaxy Ace??
We have a lot of awesome porters and developers working on this forum. Plz port this feature to Ace.
Video are 24 picture/second (pal) or 29 picture/sec ntsc). You can take these pic on video mostly from video player/editing app.

No... Wont be possible
I dont think you can do it on a single core 800Mhz phone! It will need lots of processing power. But you can always record a video and use a frame grabber to take a any picture out of the recorded video.

why take photo from video ?
the resolution size will be 640x480 right ?

THe Galaxy S also has a 1Ghz Processor not GR8 difference I think.......
Also It states that the photos are taken in Full 5MP resolutions.
Its possible go video recording and take screenshoot
Then you have took a picture while filming

This would need a lot of processing power to do. The HTC one series, which have this feature, have a dedicated image chip. As other users have pointed out the photos would be low resolution.

when the ics update comes out for the s2 will there be zero camera lag like the nexus?
or is there some kernal that can do this?
From what I've heard the camera "speed" is down to both software and hardware
Although the software will (I think) be improved, the hardware is the same so at best it will be a bit faster.
There probably won't be a change though.

I think it is totally possible depending on if the software in the ics build works well with the camera hardware of the sgs2.
I know the hardware is capable on the sgs2 because when I shoot in burst mode using "Camera FX" I can shoot 32 photos in under 5 seconds

That's at a low resolution though, not the full 8mp.
Using fast burst camera I can take shots at 480x800 roughly every 0.03 seconds (tested using an online stopwatch )

Should be fine for most cases if the subject is the same distance away from you
Hi ,.
is there any MOD or hack for SGS II camera , enables us to shoot uncompressed pictures , (for better quality),.
THX
use any custom camera app like camera360 and set the quality level to 100%, stock camera app does compress the image @ 90%

I saw a post on here (CM9 discussion thread maybe ? Not 100% certain) bout 3-4 months ago saying someone was working on giving the SGS2 the ability to shoot pictures in RAW. Haven't seen anything further since, and I'm not sure it was in that CM9 thread.

That would be amazing. I was wondering if it was possible to get RAW images from the SGS2 camera. Can't afford a DSLR
That's the thing tho, is it even possible ? Yeah, it would be pretty good. Wonder if that would iron out the various 'artifacts' you sometimes see in images taken with the SGS2 ? (like the red/pink blotch, poor quality in low light, etc, etc). May not even be possible with the hardware no matter what's done with the firmware.

Hi to all,
I would like to know if there are same way to improve camera quality. I can see my photos often are blurry.. a little bit...Although I use the focus with the touch.
Is there any setting, or build.prop modding to improve? Or any other apps...
Thanks a lot

With my previous HTC desire HD pictures quality was very very better than this...
I don't see anything wrong with this picture.
What you can do is try a modded camera.apk that has 100 compression on JPGs instead of 95, or just use a thirdparty app like Procapture.

Macro focus is for closeup shots. Given how far the bottle is away from the phone, it wouldn't be suitable for that particular photo.

Your photo is good... but if you see my crop, is very very poor! I can see too much jpg artifacts
1st. Find out if its Macro or Not. Try Autofocus if its not on.
2nd. Did you buy it as a new phone, or is it 2nd hand? In 2nd hand case it could be that the phone was opened previously for a repair or something, and the lens or the lens cover got dirty.
can someone extract your own camera.apk and share with me? could be my app corrupt...

IMHO the picture quality is very good in this phone its a matter of how well you can play with your settings in there! One suggestion would be that don't take the pictures with auto flash! but if you still looking for other options then I think you should look to the third party app like "Camera Zoom FX" and its on sale at the moment as well!
here is the link
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=slide.cameraZoom&hl=en
It has more options plus excellent other settings and added frames etc as well, which you may find useful if you're a picture enthusiastic!

LOL wrong section!! wy u cant post in right section?? BTW ur camera might hav microscopic dust or scartches... The SGS2 camera s really superb... Takes breathe taking pics if u knw how to take one..
I have other non China android phones that records video pretty impressively under bad or average lighting conditions. According to MT6573's specification, it has support for advanced 3D graphics; multi-format video capture and playback up to FWVGA 30fps; high-resolution camera support to 8MP.
An irritating thing is that the camera is TOTALLY USELESS under average or poor lighting conditions when recording. I have tried with different apps and they all gave me disappointing video recordings (almost total darkness clips).
Just wondering if I'm the only one facing this problem. Is there anyway to rectify the problem?

In such un branded devices its common...
Its like in Nokia or Samsung phone 1.3 mega pixel camera gives the same result as 5mp of that micromax or karbon...
So in such cheap phones its not necessary that if they write 8mp than it will like 8mp of that Samsung innov8...
we all should be polite enough to press thanks for anyone who helped US.
Yeah, thanks but is there a way to 'reduce' the pixel count? I don't need large recordings, just bright ones
You can change resolution of video in setting
Higher the resolution better the clarity

Did that but it didn't improve the brightness level when recording. Is that a problem with 6573 platform in the first place? In that case, is the 6575 and 6577 also the same?

what a bad camera this phone have !
My Galaxy S2 Camera is much better than it
especially the front facing camera is really too much bad is really unusable for Selfies ! even when i use "power selfie " app with "smooth" mode its three much BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAd !
I'll post some photos later
how can i check the specification of the CPU
"hardware info" app shows 1.3 GH & 8 Cores !
is the 1.3 CPU is the main one & the 1.8 CPU will only Run under heavy load ?
How to Make some App running as floating window ? rather than multi-window thing ?
I DON'T THINK THIS PHONE WILL REMAIN WITH ME FOR MORE THAN 2 WEEKS .... CAMERA IS IMPORTANT THING FOR ME
the speed of copying to the internal storage is super fast tho.
the performance for is device is generally Very Good
Stating that the S2 camera takes better pictures than the alpha's means only that you may have:
1) a fake alpha;
2) a defective unit.
For me, I can say that alpha's pictures impressed me much more than the S5's and that's why I changed my S5 for the alpha. By the way, I had the whole S series (except for the S6) and none of the S series is better than alpha! You should do some research on your unit. See what may be wrong with it.

Galaxy Alpha takes better pictures than iPhone 6 and z3 compact, except for lowlight but those two competitors doesn't take better image in dark either.
http://www.gsmarena.com/iphone_6_vs_galaxy_alpha_vs_xperia_z3c-review-1148p7.php
And gsmarena also acknowledged galaxy alpha takes better full hd 1080 video than iPhone 6.
I also find the cameras really good. Here's a rear camera sample.

The Phone Charge obviously fast with the Samsung charger that comes with the box of the phone

i'm not making a big hope on it , i know that i don't have to expect alot from phones cameras (except iphone :\ )
but I'm disappoint somewhat with the rear camera where the photos really seems to have no details when it is zoomed a bit , while me s2 shows a lot of details (both for near shots, less than 40 cm or even 30 !)
& For the front camera for alpha its look like the S3 or a VGA stupid camera & poor quality ... but i started to accept it with "Power Selfie App" with "smooth" effect.
I am still at my opinion, S2 front facing camera is better than S3 & The Alpha :\ except that the last two capture more light , more surround ...
