hello friends. I need your help.
In Brazil, we turn to within the same state, just typing the phone number. for example, where I live (Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, Brazil) is a 34 DDD (Direct Distance Dialing) and where I'm going to call is 34 too, so I type just numbers that I want: 0000-0000
But if I call my mother (tumbiara-Goias, Brazil) DDD is 64 so I have to choose an operator to call (light,12-21,14-CTBC Hi, XX-etc.)
So I have to dial 0XX-34-0000-0000. 0XX: code operator (carrier)
WITH my stock rom, I have no problems, but with the CM7.2 ROM does not recognize the contacts from my address book.
Example: In my address book, my mother's phone is 8123-1528, but when I call her (origin: Uberlândia) I have to dial 021-64-8123-1528, so it does not recognize the contact.
What should I do to the dialer to recognize?
In any other country works so well?
Someone can help me?

I often have to put my phone on divert, but this is quite a long procedure.
Is there a way to put a macro on the desktop that will automatically go to the the forwarding page?

From memory the GSM network is able accept commands send as call dial strings. You should be able to simple enter a specific sequence of commands & then hit call/send, this will change the network settings.
What network are you with, perhaps we can help you find the settings. For o2 here in the UK http://mywap.genie.co.uk/p.php3?u=bestwaplinks&p=10182219
Thanks for the link.
I note that it says that you should type **21*NUMBER# SEND.
But is there a way to save this as a macro or shortcut on the desktop so that I dont have to remember the divert number each time?
BTW I'm on TMobile UK.

How about a contact with a speed-dial entry with that number as mobile number?
Hi,
Since I sync my X01HT with my PC outlook,
the phone number is my contacts looks like:
+81 3 12345678.
If I dialed this one directly, I got an error voice message.
The SB cannot recognize "+" sign.
Should I use some software to change this number automatically to:
03 12345678?
By the way, I can use this number well in Taiwan or China.

i don't know if there is any software that can automatically do it for you but you can't dial + when you are making calls from japan and numbers need to be changed to the 03 12345678 format you mentioned. what i did is manually added those in each contact as an alternate phone number so that i can pick and choose the one appropriate depending on where i am.
Try dialing +81312345678 manually, then you will know if it is a problem with your contacts or a total incompatability with the network.

i said that doesn't work when you are calling from japan. you have to apply for the international calling service first if you want to make international calls, but even with that using + plus the country code doesn't work in japan.

Thank you harryk1372 for your suitable comments.
This is why I want to find some soft to change the "+" for me automatically.
One can use "+86" in the China Telecom network.
I tried "dialDTMF", but nothing happened.
I fight this since I am in Japan, but once again, one man against the Japanese bureaucratic world... Anyway things which drives me nuts is that while you have to dial 010 for call, SMS use the international dialing system with +
http://mb.softbank.jp/mb/en/global_service/international/message/sb3g/index.html
Now how hard can it be for Japan or SB use an international standard... like this dammed + ?
Or if they love so their uniqueness (their 010) why could not they simply tweak their system to accept both 010 and +

exactly... why the hell they need to use 010 for voice calls when they can accept + for sms. they should consider accepting + for voice as well.
Someone might like to take a look here.

I've been using the generic installation on my X01HT and it's the best work around I've found.
All my contacts from Outlook have full numbers including country codes with "+".
In the Country Code options I have a Japan International setting that adds 010 with the Convert + and remove - options checked.
When I select a Japanese contact, in Japan, I toggle the Int'l Access off to get no country codes.
For a Japan based International call I toggle the Int'l Access on (the country code appears) and then the Int'l Calling to select the Country code option to add 010.
It sounds more complicated than it is, but anyone who has had a call in, cursed they can't copy/paste a number and add 010 etc will find it a blessing.
There is no information on the author so take care, but I don't think it is doing anything malicious.
I post it in other topic (in SGA), but anyone answer me.

Hello.
I have a 4G/LTE Nexus 9 Tablet . In my Country in order to use internet through data services like 3G & 4G on Telecom Carriers (service provider) , I have to "DIAL" a code (or a Number) like:
*141* pin number # (to charge my account / pin number is bought from Service Provide website)
*141*1# (to know about reminder of my credit and in response the service provider should inform me by a text message in default cell phones)
As I know , the nexus 9 doesn't support "DIALING Numbers" in GSM band.(It only Support SMS) ,So It's not possible to CALL (DIAL) the mentioned formatted numbers and it seems I can not buy charge, check my account info and use 3G & 4G Services.
Would you please help me with this problem and give me advices about solutions that help me to use 3G & 4G data services .(Maybe I 'm wrong and the tablet has capabilities to address this problem.)
I hope to receive a reply.
Thank You.
I understand your frustration about this issue.
Are you using a Prepaid package from your service provider? This is kind a tricky when subscribing an internet plan in Nexus 9.
I got some ideas about solving the problem.
First, I'm not sure but try go to Setting, More network, select mobile plan and see if you can select from there.
Second, eject the sim card and insert into a Smartphone (that has a dial app) and subscribe the plan you wanted and put back into Nexus 9 after response or replied from service provider.
Third, find out whether your service provider provides any online service that can subscribe a Prepaid plan for your current number either from their website or a downloaded app.
Hope it helps.
I'm newbie anyway.
can't we just dload a dial app from the playstore like truecaller app , truedialer app ?
No you can't, caller dialler app you mentioned are not working in Nexus 9 as it has no call facility, only smartphone or tablet with a built in dialler can install that. You cannot make any service call (phone call using sim) but you can make internet call like hangout, Skype, FB messenger.
I gave my Honor 5x to my father in law.
He works in Italy, and we live in Croatia.
So hi has two sim cards, one Italian (Wind network), and other Croatian (Bonbon, T-mobile brand network).
When dialing somenone from contacs (eg his son), using Croatian card, while in Croatia, (sim 2 in this case), phone app automatically adds Italian country code in front contacts number.
This results in "this number cannot be dialed or does not exist" message.
If he mannualy punches in the mobile phone number, even without Croatian country code, call is OK.
Does anybody have similar problem with this phone and how to resolve this?
I was unable to find the solution in dialer, contact and sim card settings.
Thanks
