Slight problem with tethering - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I have been tethering via USB my GS2 to my home wireless network.
At any rate, my connection seems to reset every so often and I will have to toggle on/off the usb tethering option on the phone to get things running again
It did not use to behave this way, can you guys think of why this may be?
Thank you, any help is very very appreciated.

USB Tethering and Portable Hotspot no more working

Hi all.
I realized that USB Tethering and the Portable WIFI Hotspot of my Optimus One don't work anymore. I'm running the original LG rom and the phone isn't rooted.
Some seconds after activating USB Tethering or Portable Hotspot the 3G connections goes down (the icon in the notification bar disappears).
Any ideas? What's happening?
I can provide the logcat dump, if this could help.
thanks for your help!
Well you could try to reset the phone..
I didn't though about that... But I have to backup everything... I'll give a try.

[Q] Can't turn off tethering

I have a once rooted (I say once because I'm not sure it still is after doing the OTA updates) that has the APN for tethering. Tethering works fine.
The problem is that when I change the APN back to use AT&T US I don't think the phone is disabling tethering. The reason I think this is because I am running JuiceDefender and it shows that Tether is on. Additionally, the battery life is much shorter than usual and the phone is warm to the touch even when it is just sitting there in standby.
Any ideas on how I can confirm that tethering is indeed still running and/or how I can truly turn it off?
I have tried rebooting the phone, selecting AT&T US Tether (so that I get the message saying that I don't have tethering on my plan) and have tried disabling and re-enabling JuiceDefender.
If you scan for wifi networks does your tether network actually show up?
Nope, I don't see it. It's almost like the phone thinks it needs to keep the cell data connection alive so that it can provide tethering, but without actually providing it.

[Q] Can't connect to my Atrix hotspot

I just flashed OLYEM_U4_2.1.1 for my Bell Atrix, and the hotspot is enabled, but I can't use my laptop or my i9000 to connect this hotspot, it just keep connecting...scanning...obtaining IP address...disconnected...scanning..
What is wrong with my atrix?
And the GPS seems doesn't work too.
somebody help me...
somebody help me...
havent heard of this error before. im using the same sbf and as far as i can tell everything is working fine.
I know you dont wanna hear this, but how about a factory reset?
I did everything I can, wipe, flash radios, flash u4_1.4.2, but it doesn't get any help.
somebody help me...
It sounds like its a bad encryption passphrase.
I've witnessed bugs in the Wireless tethering on other versions of android.
Couple things you may want to try with tethering turned off:
1. Turn off your Wi-Fi and then enable your wireless tethering(Wi-Fi Hotspot).
2. Turn on your Wi-Fi and then enable your wireless tethering(Wi-Fi Hotspot).
3. After enabling wireless tethering adjust your Wi-Fi hotspot settings. (Perhaps try no encryption or changing the encryption type and/or passphrase)

Able to tether on one computer and not the other

I've been racking my brain trying to figure out where the root of this issue lies, but I'm just stuck at this point. I have an HTC Thunderbolt that I tether from. My work laptop (with all of its firewalls and security settings and whatnot) is able to connect to the tether perfectly. No issues whatsoever.
My home laptop (with all firewalls and security settings turned OFF) cannot seem to tether correctly at all. It is able to connect to the SSID, but it stays at a limited connection no matter what I do.
Both machines run Windows 7 64-bit. I'm really at a loss of what else to do or how to completely clear out my wireless adapter settings on my home laptop. I've tried removing the wireless adapter profile from the control panel and then connecting again and that didn't do the trick either.
If anyone has experienced something like this or can help me troubleshoot, it would be greatly appreciated.

X10i restarts while connecting to WiFi hotspot

Hi all,
I have a problem while connecting to WiFi hotspot feature. I have Feravolt v3 JB rom, Ferakernel.
I am able to activate the Wifi hotspot feature in the phone and its broadcasting fine until I try to connect from my laptop's wireless adapter. The SSID is detected in the wireless networks and when i try to connect, it acquires the ip address and as soon as I get the message 'wireless connected', the phone LED color changes and the phone reboots. I tried both pdanet+ and also the hotspot feature in the rom. both times the phone restarts. I did factory reset and tested hotspot feature before installing any other apps. still the same result. I also tried keeping the phone charged while connecting to hotspot. No luck. I am able to do usb tethering, reverse tethering without any problem. I did not overclock. Just using default settings that came with the rom. disabled sleep policy, kept the screen always on......
My only guess is that might be battery problem and if so any idea how to overcome this problem without buying a new battery.
Anyone had similar problem before or its a first?
Appreciate if someone can guide me if I need to enable or disable any feature.
