I am getting annoyed by this stupid flash notification I get everytime when i send an sms (particularly in india)
Is there anyway to disable this thing ? it is very very annoying.. hope the experts here would help me out with
call service provider and shout at them..
droid is doing what they are sending. if you want to disable popup completely from inside of os then you might need to dig out the source of generation
completely isnt a good option... as we would need to see our balance now and then.. and even last call cost...
just for sms would be better.. even after rooting these stupid things cant be get rid off.. lot of searching and stil couldnt find any solution
You can try search in android apps and games section "balance update / USSD blocker".

You service provider is responsible for this, nothing to do it with android... Try contacting them!

So I decided to sleep over at my girlfriends the other day and woke up to her yelling at Me. The then got mad at me for testing other girls that were just my friends ( I know, It's kind of ridiculous). Anyways the strange part is I had deleted the messages and then she told me she knows how to view deleted messages. So I've been looking around online for a while now and I haven't heard of any way to view messages when they are deleted. Oh by the way she isn't very tech savvy. So any ideas how she is viewing messages that I have deleted? Also I'm using handcent, but the messages are not on the stock messaging app.
Any chance she installed some kind of app on your phone another time that keeps your texts and email in memory seperately. Oh yeah and find a new girlfriend, even though she was right she shouldn't be invading your privacy that much.
Pimpin ain't easy. In the meantime, you should keep a screen lock on it.

Mm it will be hard to tell with Android , anyways , some people is having problems erasing sms because they come back up in the device(I think is HTC sense.com ) but.you should just lock the screen, and if she ask you why you locked it , well tell her that you want to make sure if you loose it don't want anyone messing with it ha ha

She quoted the conversation almost perfectly ha... So either she has it sent to her phone VIA some spyware app that i haven't noticed, or she found a way to outsmart half the world and bring texts back from the dead... Ha any ideas guys? I don't like the idea that someone can read my deleted messages.

Ya maybe. It would be nice to know how she did it. Plus Idk how she will react to lock codes. I guess we will see.
From the msg list screen in handcent hit the menu button. Then select more. Hit delivery report. This shows all sent msgs but not received. Not sure if that is what she was looking out. from the report if you hit menu you can clear the log.
Freak I think that was it! Sweet! is there something like that on the stock messaging app or just handcent? Thanks a ton!
There are ways to recover erased text messages.
Most likely, you have a sms logger, something like smsbox.
As a side note, I would get rid of someone spying on me. Trust is a major part of a relationship, spying shows no trust, which dooms any future.
Make sure the sms/mms forward feature is disabled. Maby she set it up to forward your messages to her email or phone. (Messaging, Menu, Settings, Forward To...)

get this app
The hidden message app. Been using it a while .. makes cheating a breeze ! It looks like a stupid stoner app. But really hides all messages and calls to a privite folder that u need a pw to get at !!
If you have Google Voice integration the Google Voice app holds a longer history.
Maybe you're really trying to get us to help you recover her deleted messages. Judy kidding. Maybe she's using Dexrex

I believe the problem here is the fact that I nor anyone else who has looked at this has any idea what the OP is talking about.
It doesn't help that he abbreviates horribly and uses SMS slang. Nor the fact that he seems to explain his thoughts thoroughly.
Please help us help you, by taking the time to properly type out the problem or situation you wish to correct. Without basic information or even understanding the problem there is no possible way for us to help you.
Flash SMSs are
Flash SMSs or class 0 sms are SMS, but are not shown normally and it doesnt go into the inbox
They are shown as a popup with an OK button only. Once you press OK, the message is gone. It is used by some service providers as a means to tell (mostly pre-paid) users how much money they spend for the last call/sms/mms/data activity etc.
I hope this will raise this thread from the dead as i want to block my data usage flash sms.
Anyone? I really want to disable the constant popups from my service provider.

Solution to Block Flash Messages Display on Screen
=======================================================================================================
I suffered a lot the same way as u r getting flash messges too many times, i called my serivce provider(idea), but they didn't help me.
Finally i found an app which could solve my problem. Yes, my problem solved 100%. I am very much happy now. I am not getting flash msgs on my screen after installing this app.
You can disable Flash Messages in your mobile, if ur mobile is an Android.
Go To Google Play, search for USSD Blocker, Install "Balance Update/USSD Blocker by Sriram Melkote"
I hope this app will help you, if u r an Android User.

Hey Friendz can we really hide "last seen" on WhatsApp..??
.
.
.
Yes there is a small trick, which i found out yesterday..
For me i have a samsung galaxy 5 and no internet on my phone(but it also works on phone data plan) i use Wifi, the trick is for me to have wifi on so i can recieve messages and once i do, i just turn off my wifi and then open the whatsapp message. after that you can even type a reply if you want send it, close whatsapp completly and start your wifi again. it wel then send the message but you wont have come online, my friends still think its freaky that i was last online 3 days ago while im still talking to them the only downside is that you yourself then cant see when someone else was last online cause to get that information you need to be in the message and online. hope this helps.

But it would be better if it can automatically connect whatsapp again when I return to homescreen, so that msg can be sent and last seen can be hid as well!:fingers-crossed:

yes that you can just take another phone add a contact that you want to see and you can spy their status without being seen! I'm surprised you didn't figure this out obviously you can do many tricks for this. one is saving multiple data profiles for whatsapp and it requires root
another way for anyone, stock unrooted phone, is installing and uninstalling or clear data, change sim etc etc

you need to use titanium backup, make a backup of whatsapp. Then delete whatsapp data and create a new account with a new phone number.
You might need to move the old backup from /sdcard/TitaniumBackup saved as .tar.gz to some other folder and then you can swap whenever you need to change profile.
I hope you can understand what I mean!
maybe I'll try it
thanks! It's much better than the previous method!
I have seen a lot of posts that says lag in dialer app - takes 4-5 seconds to load etc
In my s3 I have the same problem, but in addition to that when I try to access call logs of particular person from logs tab by touching records, it does not open when I turn off the phone, take the battery out for 4-5 seconds then I am able to access it, after a day or two the same problem shows up.
what to do? any permanent solution?
I am on rooted stock 4.0.4 ics
EDIT :
Sometimes even the call history doesn't gets saved.
please help guys sometimes i get important calls and i can't even see from which number did i got the missed call.
P.S. this only happens once in a while. But It is very frustrating, i cant even see the people who called me, miss calls or whom i call.

Thread moved to Q & A section, post in the relevant section next time.
I think the only solution is to MOD contacts app so that it can be kept in memory permanently so it can load faster.
I dont know about programming, is it possible to port AOSP contact in Samsung S3 with JB ROM?
Exdialer is the best replacement.
