Text message issue, please help - HTC EVO 3D

My parents both have iPhones and sometimes them and some other friends send me text messages and I receive them like this when they're just text messages. How do I fix this? Thanks

Are they sending more than 160 characters? I think sprint, or cdma in general, converts 160+ character messages into an mms automatically because it can only handle 160 characters in a text. I could be wrong though.

Nope, it's always a very few amount of words.

Is it a group/mass text? I know iPhones at least send group/mass texts as mms. I get them from my buddies all the time.

Group text (incoming specific)

I have handscent installed to handle group text but its annoying. The text comes in as an mms from the original sender, I then hit download and it backs it out into a group thread. If this were the only time it did it I would be fine but EVERY response does this. So if five people respond then I get 5 separate mms text that back into the group thread every time.
Is there a better app or workaround for this? I know most my buddies have iPhones but this is also the case with Android phones so I don't think its iMessage specific.

you can use a 3rd party sms/mms app like handcent or go sms too.
I've always preferred handcent myself.
If you go to setting on the mms app, you can see split sms do that would make it not to convert to mms

Problems Sendingg Text Messages?

Hey is anyone having problem with sending long text messages?
I experienced it earlier... reboot still didn't do it. Very strange. Ended up calling but only to find out my text actually did get sent even though I got the "cannot send" message.

I'm assuming you're on a CDMA network which limits you to 160 characters in a text. To overcome this you'll need to go into the settings of your text message app and have it split larger messages into separate ones.

mms always shows as slideshow?

Does anyone know if it is possible to send a mms without it displaying as slideshow? Even if I send 1 mms it displays on the receiving phones end as a slideshow.
Thanks in advance guys

[Q] Google Voice to send/receive pics??

Has anyone successfully paired any third party text app with GV so that it can be used for texting and NOT use your assigned verizon number but rather your GV number? Not just for texts but photos too?
I've checked out textplus, Handcent, etc but cannot get them to use my GV number
I've had mixed results when someone sends me a picture to my gvoice it will show up in Gmail. I have never seen anyway to send them.

GVoice doesn't support MMS, though it getting sent to email is new to me.
