Help. - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

Hi. My wife have neo v. And i install official ics for her but the phone is not good soo much. And she blame me that i fu.. her phone. I try to find some custom rom for her, but i dont know what i need to look. So i need help from people who is test few roms/kernels. I need good kombo rom/kernel. She just play games and little facebook. So every help is good. Tnx to all for help. Please.....

Open pc companion,go to support zone, phone software upgrade and repair phone. This will do a fresh ics install over the one you upgraded. And things will be lot smoother now.Backup everything like sms, contacts before doing this cos this will erase everything in your phone and do a clean install.
btw I think wrong section
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1605

I will try that. Tnx

Are there any further demands? AOKP/CM9 is very smooth, but video recording and some small stuff doesn't work.
Otherwise try MIUI. It has no bugs, and is a lot smoother and better looking than stock.

It is not a official ICS addon, that is why it is not added.
Sony's ICS are the best and it looks fantastic unlike any other brand ics

Hi!
Sony will give as beta updates for BL unlocked phones like was with arc, ray and neo??
Somewhere I have read that Sony will not publicate alfa or beta roms for our phones.
If they restrict beta I will be mad!
i think new in ics -gui -more elegant -more use ram and much more

Just wait 1-1,5 months and you have official ICS, no point of releasing beta version.

It is said, that around end May/early June get all other Xperia phones the ICS update.
Cant wait for this. Loved the elegance of it.
Anyway, i think ICS will be available here on Brazil only in July ~ August. ):
Great news
I have a couple of questions though. If anyone is able to answer them I'd be thankful.
First of all, it seems root is already available on Xperia phones following some replies on this thread. Could someone please point me in the right direction as to how can we do it? A thread on this forum would do, sometimes even using search I get lost trying to find what I want
Second, suppose I don't like ICS and I'd rather revert back to GB. Will flashing the phone with a Nandroid backup work? I imagine I'll need root and install recovery first. Is recovery an easy thing to install on ICS? I installed my current recovery through the CWM Recovery installer available on Google Play, will it work on ICS? Will I need to unlock my bootloader to do it?
If a Nandroid backup won't work, will flashing the phone with Flashtool with a (rootable) .42 or .58 firmware work? If it does, will I still be able to update to .62 with OTA?
That's a lot of questions, I know..but I'd really like to know that stuff before I consider updating to ICS.
Thanks in advance!

dont sweat it.
here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1320350
it only takes 15 minutes max to root.
remember, you cant root .62 yet
yes you can go back to any firmware of gingerbread if you dont like ics by using easy flashtool toolkit.
no you dont need cwm recovery to install ics, you need sony pc update companian app on your computer or maybe just through the air from your phone.

ISC slow?

Hey
i just flashed ISC for my Neo with the help of this forum. The problem is, that its very slow now.
I already looked for some kernels but I dont want to unlock the bootloader.
Is there any posibility to make the phone faster without unlocking it?

Do a clean install instead upgrading, remove bloatware and finally don't expect miracles from 512mb ram
If you really want to use your phone flawlessly, stick on the stock .62 firmware. ICS lags too much, even the Sony warns you about this before updating. A 512MB single core processor can't do so much. Else, the best method is unlock your bootloader (don't worry, you can relock it again ) and flash the Night-Elf KERNEL with 1.8 GHZ OverClocking capability and many much more advantages.
Still, at last, .62 is the best

I appreciate your answer, I too followed all you said but in my case, it lags (even after Supercharging). So, switched back to the .62 firmware. Even the WiFi is not working properly on ICS, connects then disconnects repeatedly.

LG P500 has 512MB RAM, msm7227 ARMv6 600mHz CPU and ICS works super smooth and fast.
On neo V i'm using Apex launcher, and I prefer turn off xperia home and other blotware.
Sony must update kernel to newest version to bring us full ICS experience.

[Q] Sony Xperia GO ST27a vs. ST27i Question --- Please help

So I just bought the Xperia Go ST27a (note the "a"). My question is, will rooting the Xperia Go with firmware meant for ST27i work on ST27a? As far as I can tell, the only difference between the two is that ST27a uses different 3G frequencies. So while I think it would be safe to do so, I wanted to ask first before possibly messing up my phone.
So before I try doing this, does anyone know for sure if custom rooting for ST27i will work the same way (same files used) for the ST27a?
Rooting methods are same for a and I versions....jUst make sure that if you are flashing something using flashtool, you should check the exclude baseband option...(the one on right sidde of flashtool)(the option shouldbe ticked)

Thanks for the reply and thank you for giving me a heads up about exluding the baseband option (would not have done this if wasn't told to). Since it seems you sent the post from the ST25a, I think this is much more credible. Will try rooting and updating to ICS (not in that order) tonight. Any builds found on XDA that you would recommend?
I believe I saw CM7 or CM9 available, will probably start from there.
Update:
As a follow up, I can now confirm that rooting methods and firmware/kernel upgrades for the ST27i also work with ST27a. I haven't been adventurous enough to try installing ICS yet though for ST27a, but I might get around to doing it. Not quite sure if I will do it soon though, because I honestly can't see the use of me upgrading to ICS because 2.3.7 works well for me. I'm not sure I really want to risk upgrading to ICS when it was designed for the ST27i, especially when the current GB 2.3.7 works perfectly fine.

[Q] Smother games and system in stock unrooted phone

Intro:-
Well first of all hello neo users i myself is xda seniour member having galaxy fit as my primary device..actually my dad has neo v indian firmware device with latest 4.0.4 official update..his phone is unrooted..
Qstn:
Now comming to question..my qst are as follows
1. Can i have smoother gaming and system experience in unrooted ics..see guys i have galaxy fit which is low legacy device..
2. How to make phone smoother witb unrooted device?
3. In this official firmware i m having problems like wifi never connects and also all games like subway surfers which lag like hell in my dads neo v
Plz a humble request to all neo users to guide me in smother system and better gaming performance in unrooted device..(reason of unrooted device is its dads phone.. )
Sent from my GT-S5670 using xda-devlopers app from my own custom rom ""Superstock v1"" ..
Root your dads device and if u need warranty then unroot it again. Stock rom is smooth only if you remove bloatwares. But with those useless apps your dads phone gonna lag in games and stuffs. I suggest go for root and unroot it later if you need warranty. Search lonewanderers or madfysh thread for root.

Really thank u for your reply..but unlocking bootloader and jst rooting the device is it okay? Bcz dad likes to have simple stock UI only..any suggestions to make gaming experience better? Bcz all the games like subwaysurfers, templerun etc lag a lot!! Any idea hw to smothen it?
Rooting will do it. Bootloader unlockin will void ur warranty forever. Instead root it and go for any custom rom like pureness, uhd, etc then no game will lag even a bit.
P.S. Press thanks if someone helps you dont spam thanks.

Corret me if i'm wrong !
You can relock bl back whenever you want ! No one will know that ! As we all know that relock bl back can even use SUS :good::highfive:
But once u lose drm even if u relock bl u wont get it back. And service centers do check drm so ur warranty will be void anyway.only pt is unlockin bl by testpoint which I dont prefer. Btw he wants a smooth gaming and lagfree phone that doesnt need unlockin bl. A stock based custom rom is enough for it.

My Suggestion.
root it. put CWM. get any rom ur comfortable with which has 'lock/unlock bl' in the title.
keep sony update service or companion ready in your pc/laptop.
when u have to give phone fro service or something
just connect phone and go to update service. follow the steps.

Xperia u working really slow

Hi all,
I have an xu and I've been wondering.. am I the only one who suffers from a slow working device?
It was actually working great until the new ics build update (6.1.1.B.1.54). I'm really a newbie so i don't think i shud mess up with my phone but i obviously considered wiping it since i hav many apps installed. I failed to root it (after many tries) with the new version so I have extra apps that i cant even delete, some of them working in the background. And that's why, i believe, my phone isnt working as smooth as before.
It's really giving me a hard time doing simple actions such as phone calls or chatting in whatsapp(i entered the "Apps->running" in Settings and it showed that i have 10mb of free ram) ... many things as basic as these take too much time and its kind of annoying. Is there a way to make my device faster w/o wiping my data? is my problem really caused by the firmware?
I hope u can answer my questions, and when u answer please take into account the fact that i don't know much
thx in advance!
(P.S. i bought my phone about 8 months ago - it's not old or something.)
I doubt you use all of the apps. Uninstall those you don't use.

Please explain a little further .... you tried rooting the b.54 firmware directly using Flashtool ? If so , it's not gonna work ..... you need to flash the stock b.10 kernel first , Root your phone with that kernel , let it boot up,then reflash the stock .54 kernel =) .... give it a try and post the results ...
@ Toon and Bhargva
I really aprreciate ur ideas and ill consider doing them but wiping my data is my last resort. And i think that if i'll flash anything it'll be the 2.3.7 GB and it will (hopefully) be much smoother.
However, I think that the repair thing might rly help so perhaps ill give it a shot and see if it gets better.
Thx again for giving me these ideas I believe they will suffice if there isn't a way to repair my phone without wiping my data.
More ideas are welcome
