i have a recently unlocked lumia 710 that i am trying to use on ATT vs TMobile. the phone dials out and gets SMS, but no MMS or data. all the plans are correct, i called ATT and Nokia, but none can help with editing the network settings now that the Network Setup APP is missing from Marketplace.
I was wondering if there was some other work around? does anyone have a developer app that can edit these settings?
I am hoping there is something i can do outside of the network setup app to edit these settings.
and i know this is a lumia 900 thread, but there is no lumia 710 group/thread.
Same issue for Lumia 900 users on ST
I am also wondering about this.
I have a Lumia 900 on Straight Talk. On the Lumia 800 there was a setting in the diagnostic app (##634#) that would let one add an APN. Maybe that's available on the 710.
If there is anyone in the UK that has the Lumia 900, I would kindly ask you to try this and to see if you can add APN's on Tango, as we cannot on Mango. Therefore we prepaid users don't get MMS functionality.

Change the APN. For AT&T this one should work:
Username:[email protected]
Password:CINGULAR1
Save the settings, turn the phone off and then turn it back on. Maybe some other AT&T users using Windows Phone without LTE can confirm.
For Straight Talk see: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1603388
Although this phone lacks a forum on XDA, the Lumia 710 is a "cheaper" version of Lumia 800, hence /moved Lumia 800 General

With their recent firmware update, Nokia has updated the diagnostic Application with quite a few new features/options.
Considering the widespread unavailability of the Network Setup App for custom MMS APN, the option that interests Lumia users the most is "APN Settings".
I have tried adding and saving new MMS APN settings with this application, which results in a prompt, "successfully saved". However, the moment you close and re-open this Menu, the settings go missing, and of-course they are not operational, if tested in the messaging app.
Has anyone else played with this New Diagnostic App/Menu? I am currently in the process of trying to set my unlocked Lumia 800 for MMS on Rogers. Strangely enough, the internet over 3G is fully operational without any manual intervention.
So, 68 views and no replies? I heard quite a few people crying about their beloved "giffgaff" not being included in the "Network Setup App". Why don't you try this?
Because it doesn't help.

And that post definitely helps. If it doesn't work for you, that is a good feedback. Something useful. Rather than me doubting the process that I followed.
Thank you.
Yeah that is a lot of stuff in the diag app that doesn't seem to do anything (there is an HSPA switch that is set too off be default, and HSPA still works for example) for some reason.
I have just flashed my unlocked Lumia with 11501 from navifirm. I entered all the correct settings within APN in diagnostics. I can confirm that my cyan unlocked Lumia still cannot send MMS. The only hope now is GG settings included in Nokia network setup or else MSFT giving all wp7 owners the functionality to set up mms
Sent from my Lumia 800 using Board Express
New Network Setup App released
Hello Everyone,
The new Network Setup App has been released, and it works perfectly. MMS works like a charm.
Enjoy!
don't have to use the diag, now you can download the Network Setup from Nokia Collection in marketplace, the it will automatically set up all the network settings include MMS, it works fine for me
It only works for those who's carrier has been included by Nokia.
I recently purchased a Lumia 800 on Amazon (RM-801) but I cant get the MMS and voicemail to work. I downloaded the Network Set up App and the Diagnostic test where I can manually change the MMS setting but it tells me that the name At&t is already used. I would really appreciate it if somebody could help and walk me through it step by step in how to set up the MMS and voicemail for AT&t.
Thank you very much for your help I really appreciate it.
Toby
PS: Any news on the release date for the Nokia Lumia 800 in the MSFT stores?
You need to manually set the APN settings.
The APN "wap.cingular" without quotes should be all you need.
same problem, adding the APN works for getting data, but still no MMS,
Do we need to reset the phone once the att network has been added?
also the voicemail thing is an easy fix, just call ATT and have them re-add it for free to your account.
if we have to reset, is there any way to backup SMS texts?
Hi.
I'm from Spain and I bought a Nokia Lumia 920 from UK. Everything works fine but I have a problema with HSDPA networks. With my Lumia 800 when I have HSDPA signal, the phone displays "H" on the top and the connection speed was fine, but with the Lumia 920 it shows "3G" and the conection is slower than the Lumia 800. For a seconds, with the mobile data enable, the cellular data connection icons dissapears but not the signal strength icon. Once I saw the "H" icon, but it dissapears quickly. I saw the specifications and the Lumia 920 from UK supports all of spanish frequency bands. What can I do to solve it?
Thanks

Hi, I bought a pentaband Rogers Lumia 920 and is currently using it on Wind Mobile. I was having problems with Internet Sharing and data connection, got this app, chose Wind as my active network, and everything went better than expected!
http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/app/access-point/ce3895c7-01d0-4daf-a4c3-25c10463942d
you can not search the app in the app store, you have to go to this link directly.
hope this helps. ^_^
ps. all carrier branded versions have data and internet sharing problems because they set autonetworksearch to 0, downloading this Access Point app will set the settings to match your current carrier. gl
Thanks for answering me.
It didn't work. I found the App on settings but I updated it with that link.
I found one thing. When I turn on "Internet Sharing", everything works fine. The "H" icons appears again. But when I turn off, appears the "3G" icon and dissapears often.
I have an AT&T Nokia Lumia 920, unlocked, using on T-Mobile US.
Simply wanted to know if there are any benefits of flashing European, Asian or any other ROMs.
For typical usage, the phone works fine for me. Edge connection sucks sometimes. Things that bother me are:
1)Limited MMS settings. i.e. no option to toggle SMS/MMS delivery confirmation
2)No internet sharing - even though I don't use AT&T
3)AWS band locked
Just looking for thoughts...
off topic, you are getting ability to send/receive MMS. I had to instal Lumia Pusher App and push APN App and after installed, i went to settings APN settings was at the bottom. and once i tapped on it, the T-Mobile APN was there inactive. All i had to do was tap on it and it activated. all works fine and dandy.
back on topic,
I thought you are able to flash to dev rom and that allowed to to the tethering. but would be a pain posibble brick if you were to revert back
check here they talk about it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2271450
i might try another day or week because it takes time, being a family man, i cannot afford 4-6 hours of downloads and flashing to test, but sooner or later
good luck
I have a Rogers Lumia 920 with service from WIND. I have an option to roam unlimited in the USA. Without changing the APN settings, data isn't working. I'm trying to change the APN settings to the T-Mobile ones but it's still not working. Any thoughts on what I should be doing?
I assume you've followed the instructions at http://www.windmobile.ca/network-and-coverage/international-roaming?
Normally you're not supposed to change your APN settings. The partners recognize your Wind APN settings and "bill" Wind. Wind knows you have the add-on so they take care of it internally.
You may want to call Wind and see what they say.
