Fourth Bar Theming
So maybe you actually like Sense but still want it to look awesome like Aosp Ics. Well I now present, Fourth Bar Theming for Sense 3.6. This is the same theme that is seen in the Fourth Bar Nexus rom in the dev section. It is not finished yet and when using with Sense 3.6 there will be some oddities (Odd off blue colors and some green here and there). These may eventually get corrected but as I'm developing this Theme for a Senseless Rom I won't be paying incredible attention to the way that this looks with Sense.

Fourth Bar Theming Beta 1.1
Before I let people go crazy downloading and installing I need 1 person to test and make sure it flashes successfully. First person in the thread that asks will get to test it. I need feedback on whether it works asap so I can put up the download link.
Well I hope you all enjoy this and remember to hit the THANKS button if you like it!
If you are on Google+ click on my link below and follow along to receive updates![/CENTER]
One more for later...

Nope, this is just for people that aren't using Fourth Bar but still want the theme. There aren't any updates.
I'm gonna guess this won't work for stock ICS, since It's not deodexed?

I honestly don't know for sure but my guess would be that it won't. You could always try it though as long as you Backup first. If you do try it let me know if it works.

Well, I'm perfectly capable of backing up, so why not. I'll let you know.
okay i just decided to try out the new speed rom 9.0 beta, although im not too thrilled about the sense notification menu, i want to try this but will it change my data signal not being displayed? because it works in the current sense rom

All I want to do is modify the framework to give me the percent battery and also change the notifications. Can I use the framework on the stock Rom to change that since I'm rooted or do I have to have a different Rom that's modified?

Try the question and answer section please!
Yes you can, just do a backup before you attempt the changes and backup the original Framework-res.apk somewhere.
By back up some may wanna say nandroid or nand but we are NOT running Amon Ra anymore so lets drop the Nand..... Its kind of a slap in the face to the folks at Clockwork. And who let us root???????
THANKS CWM TEAM!
Sorry normally would have put it in there but figured it would be better in the development forum...mods feel free to move since it would be better in there

I honestly think a sticky at the top of each forum for questions would make things easier for everyone to find and help the lazy. But the one in the development section was closed and they refereed everyone to Q and A. I wasnt trying to be rude. And I dont mind helping, its just hard to find apps and themes amongst all the questions.
Ya I usually don't post easy questions like this but I tried to find somewhere that talked about the stock Rom and framework but didn't find much. Love the Rom since it was the same Rom I used on my G2 but it was Evils custom rom. Hard to go back to stock when your used to modifying your own images lol
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
I hear that, its no fun if its not custom.
Did you see my thread on changing the android on the usb connect screen? Its also done through the framework. I would post link but I'm mobile. :/
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
Nope haven't looked into it right now, since I just switched from the G2 I was going to read up on everything before but it seems like most of the G2 stuff is almost the same as the myTouch 4G so I'll be able to just go to town lol. If I do anything new I'll definitely add it to the pot once I get something good
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=852013
You can't actually change the notifications pane with that, but there are notification icons and the percentage battery changes there. I just use the silver circle one and left the rest stock, nice b&w feel to it.
More complex changes require a deodexed ROM like IG, CM6/7, eViL's MIUI, etc.
Is there a stock rom that's been deodexed? That's all I'm looking for right now but I'm not finding anything

Im told that Iced Glacier is pretty much a faster version of the stock rom. (I havent tried it myself)
However if you are just trying to change the Icons in the status bar you dont need to be deodexed to use the mods in the link previously mentioned. Im running stock rom with one of those mods myself currently
Ya I was able to change the notification icons, signal, battery...only thing I couldn't do without having FC issues was change the battery into a percent. Even with those mods on the link I was getting FC issues
DISCLAIMER:
Guess I need one of these... IF this breaks your phone.... I'm truly sorry, but thats about Ill i can say.
You know the risks.
But this rom should work pretty good out of the box... PLEASE WIPE Everything before saying there is a bug, that way we can keep things simple

INFO : Ok, So let me start of by explaining. I know this is an android forum, but if anyone likes the minimalistic look of windows phone 7, which I do then try this rom out and let me know....
It's not like I custom built this (I'm not that knowledgeable yet), I took the synergy base, removed all the htc stuff like the lockscreen and rosie launcher and added in Launcher 7. The free one, I am in the process of getting permission of the owner of the app (though I dont know why he would mind, it is pretty much increasing popularity for his launcher).
I plan on adding in widget locker as well I need to get permission for that too, so It might be awhile.
This was just a little project that would be an easy way to get a windows 7 looking phone. If no one likes it then let this thread die and ill try later....hahaha Till then I'm uploading it now and should post the link by tonight.
ScreenShots uploading should be posted in a few.
All thanks to
Synergy Rom
Launcher 7
IF you like the launcher get the pro version.
Click HERE if you would like more icons for launcher 7 it's in post 2 & 3.
Changelog :
Upcoming Version:
Trying to get a hold of the dev to see if there is a way to include a theme for the launcher 7 so it can look more stylish.
Need to get a hold of the widgetlocker people to see if they wouldn't mind me adding it to the rom.
I set up my android environment finally, I am learning.... its just a matter of time.
1.0
Tried to remove as much SENSE as possible without getting FC's
Stock Lock Screen
Launcher 7
To Change your Lockscreen wallpaper:
Go into launcher 7 settings and choose "Change Wallpaper" and choose the one you want. "If you leave the "Background Color" as black, then your launcher 7 background will stay black and your lockscreen will only change. You change "Background Color" to "System Wallpaper" Then both will be the same.
Bugs:
Only 1 that I have noticed so far is the music app wont start off the homescreen, you have to long press and remove the widget. Then add it back. Please let me know if there is any other bugs... My DSL connection tells me there is like 3 hours left for uploading...
nice can't wait

thanks for giving us props man ill check it out when my phones on for more than five minutes
looks very interesting, thank you
You guys have a really good base, thanks for all your hard work.
Haha, nice idea man. If you could either mod the AOSP lockscreen to look like WP7, or include another like you are planning, that would be cool.

It has sense taken out, and standard lockscreen. There is not that much of a difference though I plan on changing it over though so there will be a big difference soon.
Great idea-Thank you!
I flashed this rom, the only issue is the one that you already mentioned on your first post, thank you for being creative, this is totally different than anything else.

Hey great theme. One question, do you know how to swap out the clock font? I'm trying to get the blue honeycomb stock clock. I did it successfully in my In Paris theme, but now I don't remember how I did it, lol.

That's the only thing this is missing - seriously.... the HC clock on both the task bar and notification popup would make this absolutely perfect!
Thanks in advance!!!

Such an awesome theme, thank you so much for all the hard work! Any chance you could post the lockscreen wallpaper (looks to me like it's an HTC wp) seperately so I can apply it as my standard wp?

Just flashed this after installing Task's v5.0 KMM ROM and as a few others reported, it locks up the boot animation when doing so....
EDIT - this fixes it.... install the ROM and then let it boot before installing the theme! once it boots, let it sit for a while, and then go back to recovery, flash the theme, and it fires right up, nice......... Thanks again!
Can you pls attach your lock screen wallpaper.

If you guys are going to flash boosted themes. Make sure you are already on my rom and have it booted. Don't flash my rom and then flash the theme without booting in between both flashes.

Starting around post 900, people were having problems with v5.0 booting up, guess that wasn't related to this theme, but rather Task's, must have read it wrong.... when I flashed v5.0 and then this theme right away, I got stuck at the Android text boot animation - when I flashed the ROM first and then let it boot completely, then went back to flash the theme, it worked just fine, so that's where I drew my conclusions from.... didn't mean to insult anyone, if I did!

I would like to only keep one ver of the theme updated but once I get a good base worked out I def can do this for you guys
Ok this new miui on the ics sense base is really smooth and rocks. Yet I miss the sense launcher. I know thete ate many who have removed it from their roms. I would like to know what files had to be removed so I can try and install them on miui. From all I have been able to find out is that miui has kept all the framework intact so I would presume that all I need is tjr correct apks. Then I would have the best of both worlds.
(Sense MIUI my ultimate rom)
Ok with a little help from the dsixda kitchen and a few workarounds I now have progressed to MIUIics-Sense 3.6 merged rom.
shortly I will have a download link for people to play with. Feel free to report any issues you have here, but since it is just a project for my own enjoyment (at least for now) there will be no support what so ever from me.
The basics:
ics base
MIUIics from digitalhigh 7-27 test
stock miui ics kernal (for now)
What works:
all sense widgets
wifi
3g
gallery (had to reboot to work)
call
What does not work yet:
4g (which I dont have so I dont care) or it might
superuser FC's
all of the newest miui issues I have here also
Download
to come
md5sum

Evo 3d on cricket
Not gonna happen
I am a noob, but from what I see, your only choice is dual booting
wow look at the negativity here. I do see this happening and it might be a large task but it is possible. dual booting is just lame. I dont want to reboot just to access a few features of some rom.

I say try this:
Take the sense Rom that you want and extract it to a folder. Then take the sense-based miui zip and extract it to the same folder and overwrite the sense Rom with the miui Rom. Then zip the new combination and see if it flashes.

FYI as much as I love using dsixda's kitchen, you wouldn't need it to do what you describe. Simply moving the files from zip to zip would work just fine.
Have you tried a Sense Rom then downloading MIHome from the market? Ya it won't have everything MIUI but its a hell of a lot easier if you want full Sense and slightly less MIUI aspects. Just wondering
ok so a little research questions. 1. what sense would most be interested in? I am thinking about going back to 3.0 when I get most of the issuses sorted out. 2. Who would like lee droid tweeks? 3. What key features would you like? 4. Dont ask about sprint bloatware it is gone forever in all my releases when this hits the developer section. 5. Any suggestions on fav. kernals? 6. We need a sweet rom name so lets see what yall have in mind.
Finally would like to thank all here at xda for their knowledge, help, and a place to grow.

well mihome is not what i am after here. I personally hate the miui launcher which is part of what lead to this project. I love sense which is why i got an htc phone in the first place. I want miui for the extras it has, and sense for the launcher and widgets. as i have said ealier i have a simi-functional rom so far and will be doing more testing and changing over the next few day. some of my issues have to do with the sources I have used to start this with. I have a sprint ics rom from an ota that has problems by itself than the new miui 8-3 that is the first sense base released for the 3d. So yeah i have all the problems from base plus issues from the merger of the two. As the issues from the bases get sorted out so will my issues.
any suggestions on a file host site?

Your allowed to use it. Just can't post the download link to the Rom its included in here. Then it breaks the rules of XDA.
For instance..
I have 2 versions of my DX Rom but there's only one posted on XDA because I respect both forums and try to follow the rules of both of them. He could do the same if he chooses.
ok so i got it uploaded link is in op and at the end of this post. many issues so far but this is the first try. I am waiting on permission to use another base from the vm leak which will fix a few of the issues i have so far. i have only merged the two roms and have not started any work on tweeks. hope this is just as much fun for yall to use as it is for me to build.

ok test rom is working fairly good so far. tested most features and they are working I have added screenshots, now I am only waiting on permission from my donor roms before I can post a link. If you would like to test also pm me and i will give you the link.
edit:
incoming calls are hit and miss
If you're waiting on permission from me - feel free to post.
As was suggested earlier - you might have more luck ditching Kitchen and just using BeyondCompare to diff the two extracted ROMS. I cannot edit a ROM without it...it's that awesome.
I'd do like was pointed out - extract my MIUI and the Stock ICS, diff them, and then grab basically everything you want in /system/apps on the Stock side that says "HTC..." in it. Most of the widgets start with HTCfriendstream.apk and whatnot. As you've already established, the majority of the frameworks are identical, with only framework-res, framework.jar, services.jar, and android.policy.jar being edited.
So, it should stand to reason that if you're using the Rosie launcher, you can probably utilize all the stock HTC apps but keep the MIUI navbar, notification, dialer, etc.
Either way...definitely get BeyondCompare and diff the two ROMS. Otherwise you're just kludging around in the dark...
Edit:
And the permission f/c can be fixed by grabbing LBESEC.apk (something like that) from MIUIAndroids' GSM port.
would this be compatible with our phone?

the title does say 4.1, but below that in the OP it says sense 4. so im debating on whether i should try it out or not.
on another note, wouldn't we be able to pull some of the images/framework from it to compile our own themes?
best way to find out is back up and try flashing your self lol
Yea they work. I took the framework res API from that. Some are in my Rom. And I'm adding the arched lockscreen.
No go at least on my device. Aroma comes up but seems to not like my screen or something. You touch a radial and it selects another or does nothing. Cannot click next or check boxes it asks me too. Going to download once more and see if it helps
EDIT:
Got it working, you have to use your volume rocker and your power button to navigate. It compleIted but did not really work. Lockscreen has lables where icons are not. Blue framework did not take. Google Now did work, woot! ICS icon theme part no go... I might load Brolics and see if the result is different. Anyone else that wants to try post your results

Ok, so after playing some more, not much really works on either rom. What does work is adding JB animations and a Google Now to rebirth and a better Google Now to AOSP Sense 4. The Google Now talks back more. I was testing with birthdates and places of people and asking what 12x6 equals things like that.
